Hi, new sub here, watched all your Thailand vlogs up 'til now - finding them very interesting watching from your perspective. The taxi situations on those islands (Koh Phangan, Samui and even Phuket) is horrendous and is the main reason why I only visited them once a few years ago. There's some sort of taxi mafia situation going on. Even the taxi apps (Grab) charge extortionate fees. Unless you rent your own vehicle it's a nightmare - personally I don't want to risk riding a moped either due to safety, and don't want to rent a car. Interesting to see you encounter basically the same problem in 2025 - I went through the same thing pre-2019 and had to stand roadside/ask small convenience stores for help. Keep up the great vlogs.

Arden , if you do rent a car or a motor bike. Please be very careful . I would take a snap short of the whole vehicle or of the motor bike. So the receptionist doesn't say that you made those scratches. Also see if you are covered by Insurance. There was a case of an Aussie that hired a ski boat. But when he brought it back. It had a couple of dents and scratches. But one big mistake he did. He did not take a photo of the Ski boat. So what happened after that I do not know. Just be careful.

Arden you are most welcome to spend the holiday at my place. Make it towards the end of May, or June, July or August. We have 4 season's but for the last 2 years. It has been very hot. That is why my heart is in Thailand [Koh Samui] and my body is in Perth. A lot of English migrants have gone back to England, because they found it too hot here.

Hi, the ferry over to the island was shady. But OMG, the resort and your room made it worth the trip. The amenities are amazing. And you make that Jacuzzi in the room and the pool look even more fabulous. Be careful sunshine… 😊
