If you're new to Yin Yoga, here are some helpful tips:
🔸 Always respect your physical edge, this means do not lean too far into the pose where you might injure yourself.
🔸 Also respect your emotional edge, this refers to giving yourself permission to lean away or come out of the posture if you find it triggering you emotionally.
🔸 Come out of the practice gently. This could be having a cup of tea or quietly journaling.

    I wasn't expecting to cry and have a memory of my childhood, i have stopped doing yoga that requires strength because it releases cortisol already I'm trying to lower it from cptsd, i use somatic exercises and slow slow breathing excercises to heal my nervous system, it has been a Rollercoaster, i wish you could bless us more with such and also yoga that caters for cortisol, thank you ❤️💐

    I have to say encouraging “It was hard to me”. I’m 23, burt out and not flexible at all, gained some health issues from sitting lifestyle. It’s my first yoga class, I tried to find beginner one.       The most important part and the hardest is starting! And you've done it. :-) In yin yoga, honour your physical and emotional limits and go into the poses as long as you feel enough (and not too much) sensations. :-) Most yin classes are beginner friendly, as long as you respect your personal limits.

      Hi! In yin yoga, most importantly is to respect your physical and emotional limits. Even when starting with a yogic squat, you can sit on a few blocks to ease into your body if needed. Hope this helps!

    Hey Annie, I don't know if you'd remember me. My name is Tiff. You trained me to be an ashtanga-vinyasa teacher back in 2014 in Bali. I came across this video as I was recently put on medical leave from my corporate job, and yoga is one thing I've come back to time and time again over the last 10 years to keep me grounded and sane. I wanted to say, the poem you chose today felt like it was a reminder to me. 10 years ago you and I were drinking green juice in Bali, practicing for up to 6 hours a day. Up until today, I haven't thought back in a meaningful way; over all the years in between then and now. The physical and metaphorical miles. Sure, I've told people about Bali. But I haven't really placed myself back there or thought about that version of me. In some ways I felt the need to say "Oh Annie, I spent 10 years making myself sick... I didn't do what you taught me..." I am glad this video brought your reminder back to me, and I don't know if I would have thought back the way I had, had you picked any other poem. I am so glad you're still teaching, I needed to find you today. Thank you.
