Hiking Alone at Algonquin Provincial Park | Ontario, Canada
Spent two nights in the second weekend of October for provincial park camping at Algonquin. Unfortunately, the drive was so long that I couldn't do more than one hike, but the one hike I did was incredible - I was completely blown away by the colours of the leaves, the reflections on the lakes, and the quiet but peaceful surroundings of the park.
Will definitely be coming back here again next summer. Thank you for watching!

My first day hike along the Humber Valley Heritage Trail - a 20 kilometre out and back hike that took me roughly 5 hours to finish. Such a beautiful and private trail
I love this trail
Absolutely beautiful. I'm kinda shy about going camping on my own. We just recently got a dog, so atleast i'll have a companion. Will definitely try to make it to killbear for Sept. Looks beautiful.
Such beautiful film making - just so peaceful, so lovely. Thank you. Oh Killbear; the first time I went was in 1964, not long after it first opened. As an adult, I took my daughters camping there for 20 some years, and then on my own in autumns, to avoid the summer crowds. Now, I find even autumn far too busy, too noisy and too few people will camp simply anymore. I still day visit Killbear occasionally, for the memories, and because it is a very beautiful place, but I no longer camp there. I’ve found other places where I can still camp very simply, peacefully.
That was a truly lovely, peaceful film, thank you so much.
Hi, thank you for the great video! So as I can see you guys did car camping and day hikes. My question is how long are the trails around Grundy lake ? I’m going for a week there on this coming summer
Thanks so much, and I’m happy you’re going because it is a really beautiful park! There are about 4 trails: Swan Lake Trail Loop (1hr, 1.5km), Gut Lake Trail (1 1/2hrs, 2.5km), Beaver Dam Trails (2.5hrs, 3.5 km), and Pakeshkag Linear Trail (2hrs, 5.5km). The time is just an approximate amount of how long it’ll take to finish each, but they’re very pretty trails so definitely take your time to soak it all in! I also highly recommend downloading the app AllTrails which lets you find hiking trails in whatever area you search for. It’s free, and will give you directions for getting to trails and helping you see your progress on the trail - I use it when I’m at parks so I don’t get lost haha! Happy hiking!
@@trooperman100 Thank you 🙏 Happy hiking to you too!!!🥾
Please make more videos!
Working on a couple already!
Hi, thank you for the video. I just have one night camping in the same camping ground. Bruce peninsula national park is incredibly beautiful. Your video do bring back the beautiful memory to me. Thanks.
I saw your other video about camping in killbear provincial park. would like to know algonquin and killbear, which one do you think is even more beautiful? thanks.
Algonquin absolutely! Especially this campground, Achray. It was extremely beautiful and it had a lot of hiking trails unlike Killbear which only had a couple and were very short.
@@gabrielsaavedra Hi Gabriel, thanks for the comment. I have never been in Killbear park. So want to try this time and save Algonquin for next fall: ). I am living in Toronto also. So I am planning to visit lake Simcoe and lake Muskoka on the way to Killbear park. Hope it is fun.
I am planning to visit Algonquin park this fall. I have been there a couple times with family members. But just drive by without go inside the trail to see the beauty. I want to go just by myself this time. Your video and experience definetly help. Thanks.
Your videos are so clear, calming, and beautiful. Thank you.
Awesome
Thank you!
Very pleasant video which gives a good impression of what to expect at the park. Thank you!
Thanks so much! That’s definitely what I’m aiming for so if there’s anything specific you’d like to know about a park let me know and I’ll try to include it!
Loving the drone shot!! Try two point trail next time :)
Thank you! But for sure, if I’m ever able to book anything this year haha!
Fantastic!
Thanks so much!
Very good put up as a video. It's like a perfect retreat from the crazy noisy busy world and go do some self realization by yourself
Dang this is really well made
Wow thanks so much!
I was thinking the exact same thing... placement, location, timing, variety. Really great video, thank you for putting it together
Yes I agree that it is a very popular park and thus crowded has campgrounds. However, as you mentioned, you can find nice quiet spots that do make it all worthwhile. Looking forward to getting back there this year, Hopefully.
I have my fingers crossed for the both of us! 🤞🏼
Loved this Video We are hoping that Ontario opens everything back up again. We live not very far from Toronto and would really love to get out and on a roadtrip this summer, Fingers crossed. Keep up the good work guys!
nicely done!!!
Thanks so much! :)
I love Algonquin. This is a really good video thanks for sharing
Thanks so much! Will definitely head there once camping is back on the menu haha
Such a well done video! Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it, and thank you for watching!
Sorry, also what month and day was this?
What model drone did you have?
The Mavic Air 2! Such a great little toy haha
Did you stay at Mew Lake?
Nope! I stayed at the Achray Campground which is between Grand Lake and Stratton Lake
19:47 a vibe 🍂 - the beautiful shots make algonquin look like a must in fall 2021!
Such a beautiful place! Thanks for sharing
It truly was! Thanks for watching!
@@gabrielsaavedra no problem! We have a good time filming our hikes also
Woo! Finally the new video!👏👏
They love me, they really love me!
10/10
Thanks fam!
you've really done this park justice. Beautiful video.
13:58 is the most beautiful fairy tale shot! I'm obsessed!
So equipment rundown. Definitely a decent mic. Phone camera w/ mount?
Nope haha! I filmed this with a Fujifilm X-T2 and recorded the sound with a Rode Micro! It was the cheapest mic I could get that was decent haha
@@gabrielsaavedra nice that's a shotgun mic right? See I wanted somthing very multipurpose and as a first mic I for the zoom h1n. It's cheap and plasticity but a good xy mic, with enough settings. However it's not that handy without post. It picks up you hand on the plastic pretty easily. Hence why I for the kit too. Next is.proper headphone and a lav mic.
@@gabrielsaavedra also any editing software used. The audio was probs fine off the bat.
@@grahamfraser1990 I'd definitely check out the rode micro then, I've never had any problems with it and I've had it since last summer! Picks up from about 6 feet away too which is decent. Also I used Davinci Resolve for editing in both video and sound - it helps that it's free too haha
what a peaceful looking beatiful trail :)
It seriously was!
@@gabrielsaavedra waiting for the next vid :)
this is extremely satisfying to watch
Enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing
Much appreciated, thank you!
