Spinnaker Halyard Release: 5-minute Hack
มุมมอง 2.8Kปีที่แล้ว
Sometimes the RS800 Spinnaker halyard can re-cleat during a drop. To stop this, a low friction ring tied up to the mast with some bungy is used to prevent the halyard falling back in to the cleat.

If it should be bar tight then why not just use rope instead of bungee?
Sailing boats are living things with its own noises and character and behavior...😊
Your first tack onto port in light wind left the batten inverted. I struggle with this in the 800 up to about 15 kts of wind. It happens regardless of batten tension on both tacks and gybes. Do you shave them at all to reduce this?
We run pretty minimal batten tension in the top one, just tight enough that it is on the batten straps, but can be easily pushed away pressing with the thumb. In this video eventually the crew gives a tug on the downhaul and that pops it. Also running a bit more caps tension helps it pop.
This is great thank you! (B14 sailor here)
It's hard to take a guy with a haunch and breasts seriously
Really useful video. Thanks!
The helm needed to spill the main.
Kinda late getting the main out
is the commentary from the 18ft skiffs?
certainly is!
Loved that video, I reckon we still have that VHS somewhere. Nokia popping a chute twice
Commentator trying his best 🤣😅😂
The commentary is from a completely different video from the 90s 😂
