How I'd learn Web Development (If I Could Start Over)
I landed a full-stack software engineering job with no degree, no bootcamp, and while living in a small panhandle town called Amarillo, where there is little no to opportunities for developers. Despite the odds, I made it happen. In fact, I went on to win first place in a coding championship before securing my job.
Now, I help others do the same. If you’re interested, join here: www.skool.com/techascend/about

This is exceptional ! wonderful insights...thank you
This is an inspiring video ❤, there are a few apps that I want to learn how to build.
u just earned a subscriber. I'm also learning how to code independently
@@EMZ_TV_YT nice! Let me know if you have any questions or need help!
Nice channel. Very realistic projects that are not out of scope for fairly new developers great!!
Great advice in general, keeping it tight and keeping it real with the no-skipping one.
Thank you! As always I really appreciate your support!
"you can suck but you can't skip"💯 one hell of quote i gonna stick it on my wall
I appreciate it 🔥✊
Can u give me some advice the right way to learn code n really coding? I was trying to get out from Tutorial n I code every hour/ day. but I think the way I learn how to code & do code is not effective. I'm so lost n confused!
Hey! First let’s start off with what you have tried to learn so far?
Taking notes 📝
Thank you✊🤍
Thanks for this video.
Thank you Alfred✊
thanks
No problem! Where are you currently in your software engineer journey?
If I were to start out with python how should I go about learning backend development
I would build out a small program that talks with a Postgres database To give you better advice, how much experience do you have?
I am just starting out and learning python beginner on freecodecamp
follow the roadmap they give you, once finished start building projects that interest you Do you have any project ideas? Or if not, do you have any hobbies?
Do you mind doing a video on backend developer roadmap please, my hobbies are really going to gym, video games, doing arduino projects and currently learning backend development. And no currently I have no project ideas since i am just starting out
Yessir I gotchu! Coming out soon!

This is an amazing video! Thank you so much for taking your time to create a video like this. Please can you make a video about a roadmap on how to become a full stack developer and also tell us your story?
@@toshibanothere7265 thank you! I appreciate it! Yes I will be sure to make a video like that! Where are you currently in your software engineer journey?
@@daniel-guillen-1 Currently I am learning React!
@@toshibanothere7265 Thats great! Learning React can be really tough, how are you finding it?
Great video bro, I got one question about nr5. How did you manage to find a mentor? If you could expand on this theme a little bit more I think would be nice, like how you considered someone as your mentor, how did you approach them, etc.
Finding a mentor can be super hard! I started by asking all of my friends if they knew of anyone that worked in development, from there I joined communities online. In the beginning any advice is useful, no matter the dev field they were in. I usually approached them by being humble and asking if they could possibly give you some guidance on what you can do to improve You can connect me with me here!: www.skool.com/@daniel-guillen Im always online and have a mentorship community but thats optional if you want more support

Great Bro keep uploading such content 🤩
Thank you bro! I really appreciate it Are you a upcoming developer?
Just leaving a comment to help boost your video. I really appreaciate you go straight to the point and you sharing your experience with us, it makes it somehow more real and inspiring than the average coder-life channels.
That means a lot ❤️ thank you so much! This channel is still really small, so I can personally help you out if you need anything! Where are you currently at in your software engineer journey?
@@daniel-guillen-1 I've been wanting to follow a career that let's me travel sometimes and doesn't require me to be tied to a single place to work, so I was a little bit dubious about choosing software development over civil engineering , but your story convinced me to follow this path in life. I'll go to sign up to CS Engineering this afternoon. (Besides, I already have a couple of projects in my mind) I know it may take years to achieve what I want but in the meantime I'll code on my own and raise a portfolio like you said in 5:09.
@@dedstrock I completely agree! Software engineering is the best way to financial freedom and grants you the ability to work from wherever you want. Best part is, you can get paid huge salaries that only get higher with time. It sounds like you are about to start in the field and will go through most beginner problems. However that’s perfect news, I can help you get through those problems because I already faced them and get you to your goal faster and easier. Would you be interested?
@@daniel-guillen-1 I appreciate your offer yet I'll start next year lol. How many hours did you study a day and when did you think "Ok, I know enough about this subject, time to go to the next one"?
I'm studying CS rn, your video may only have 44 views, but those 44 views are people you may help. Thank you
@@nightregiment3931 thank you, I hope I’m making an impact no matter the size! How is your classes going? Are you currently building any projects?
@@daniel-guillen-1 classes are going great, I'm currently working with a group to make a mobile app that finds a meetup point on a map thats halfway between you and a friend. as for personal projects, I plan building tools for my portfolio, thanks for asking!
What tech stack are you using for mobile? And if you need any help with resume projects, you can reach out to me! I have a whole community for that exact same reason lol!
@@daniel-guillen-1 thank you very much! I just found your video on my recommended, watching your video's when I ave the time it's a dart program using geocoding with openrouteservice to find and display the meetup location.
That sounds awesome man! Geofencing is really fun but can definitely be a pain! Dart is a pretty fun language too! I’m guessing you use flutter alongside it?

Too general, lacks clear separation of concerns, and can lead to scalability issues as the app grows, making it harder to maintain and organize. For instance, controllers and services may sometimes be intertwined, making it hard to manage responsibilities clearly.
@@sherry6892 totally get what your saying! I try to make the distinction between as much as possible, and has worked well for me so far! What architecture do you recommend? Would love to hear!
This is what i call over engineering
@@bhanusharma2363 100% understand your point, what does your structure look like?
@@daniel-guillen-1 I think your approach is great but it is only applicable on a very large project. Most of the times projects are not that large in node js.
