Imitation Electric Piano - Energy is Beautiful
มุมมอง 6K14 ปีที่แล้ว
Blow It Up, Burn It Down, Kick It 'Til It Bleeds [2006] Imitation Electric Piano is the brainchild of Stereolab bassist/multi-instrumentalist Simon Johns, formed as an outlet for his unique spin on post-rock. Johns collaborated with like-minded musicians, including drummer Ashley Marlowe, bassist Andrew Blake, keyboardist Chris Blake, guitarist Paul Morgan, and trumpet player Nick Wilson, on 20...

Stereolab and Herbie Mann - One Note Samba
Does this movie used as a mental torture or hypnosis thing?
At least one version with classic line up.
I love Stereolab, my mother grew up listening to them, and now I am growing up listening to them
This is the same chord structure as Stereolab's song "Chemical Chords." I like how they combined various genre influences into their music.
It's a brilliant Trance Film and certainly best viewed on a very large screen. A computer screen doesn't do it justice. It's one of the films that I saw early on in my career as an experimental filmmaker, along with Michael Snow and Brakhage. Thanks Ernie!
Pure crap!
Anyone who tells you these films have any meaning definitely snorted crack like the filmmaker did
6:27 😅
Simply awesome! I can’t believe it’s 30 years since I first encountered their music (the collaboration “Animal or Vegetable” with Nurse With Wound); Really glad their back performing again.
They are performing this song again on their current tour. I couldn't be happier!

There is no sound. At one point, I thought this was an Adult Swim Bump. Sadly, no.
daydreaming

strong song
Love this group. Owes a lot to early Pink Floyd.
I've never heard much Floyd in them, but I can see where you're coming from with the sonic experimentatoin. Their most obvious forebears are krautrock bands, especially Neu!, with a bit of Velvet Underground, and perhaps Hawkwind thrown in.
*groop
Amazing song, but the version of this song on Peel Session 1991, is even more cool, we can find the video here on TH-cam. 🙂
This quality is so sick
LUV IT!
This version of "Serene Velocity" is only ten minutes, a sped up copy of the original twenty-three minute film. If you want to see it like it was originally projected, watch it here at th-cam.com/video/Fp3QK3imO9M/w-d-xo.html While I can't guarantee this is the exact speed, I think it is close.
damn
“fluorescence” while baby lulu is playing
I hear a little inspiration from David Burn (Talking Heads) in there. Do you?
"tim and laetitia" but tim is the only who speaks
French Gels
Absolutely love it! 🖤
como justificar uma bobagem dessas?
Affluence of culture created this monstrosity
It is a British band that sings in French?
yeah it's a british band but singer Laetitia Sadier hails from France
Just found this... Amazing
There's a lot of Dr. Who in this stuff, I find it quite "enchanting" and I've got some good originals that I'd like Laetitiia to sing. Laetitia, please respond, Guitar Dave.
The low spark of the lo boob oscillation, a crucial source of world-peace today.
<3
thank you for pioneering the potato as a film medium
Second part sounds like hallogallo from the band neu !
stereolab for sure but there's some SERIOUS high llamas in this as well
I watched this in a film class once. Midway through the instructor laughed and said "You guys paid for this."
your instructor was a fucking moron
I hope you left that class
Son geniales y buenos
this is a fantastic version, need a sb!
el baterista se parece a musculoso de un show mas.
Y la versión de estudio?
Search in dailymotion !
My favorite female vocalist.
Uau.
FANTASTIQUE!
falta una :(
not to be a hater but i am so i'll just say it... this is like.. the poor man's takashi itoh
Terrible sound
This is a True Cinematic Celluloid Experience & as such it has to be seen & enjoyed the way it was intended to be: a good mechanical projection of a good photo-chemical motion-picture celluloid film print on a big screen, of the right size, in a dark theater. The intermittency, the flicker, the strobing light & blackness 24 times a second, flashing in the black space of the movie theater. The light, the color, of the photo-chemical-emulsion grains-film frames lit up by the projection bulb shining through the celluloid & hitting the big reflective movie screen, illuminating the dark theater & suffusing the room with rapidly changing colored light that fills up the whole visual field of your eyeballs. Seen & Experienced this way by a viewer with the necessary responsive sensitivity to appreciate & physically feel this kind of celluloid motion-picture, "Serene Velocity" & other kinds of formal-aesthetic conceptual motion-pictures can truly be special experiences that nothing else in life & the world can create or be.
