    Grappling is not efective. Simple reason: A strike of Muay Thai or Karate, may knock out an opponent, before he ot she even touch you. And a well executed kick to the head will take down a grappler, no matter what. Sorry, but that`s the truth.

      With all due respect knocking out someone before they can take you to the ground is not only unlikely but also very hard to pull off. I’m not saying that grappling trumpets striking in all forms for there are many fights where Muay Thai fights could fend off jujitsu practioners take downs and keep the fight in a striking position resulting in them winning. But they didn’t do this by knocking them out. They did this by being patient and whenever the BJJ practioner tried to stay on the ground they simply started kicking their legs while they were on the ground. Also a hand full of of fights where Muay Thai people lost to grapplers because they let themselves get taken down. Not saying striking or grappling is better. Both have their advantages and weaknesses. But I am definitely saying that grappling can be very effective if the practioner is good. Both are effective all just depends on how skilled the practioner is. Saying this as someone who’s watched many MMA fights and practices both karate, kick boxing, and jujitsu

    As a practitioner of both arts theres a lot that's left unsaid the sticky hands sensitivity, Centerline theory and simultaneous attack and defense are also in Fencing's Sentiment du Fer/Tacto, inside/outside line engagement in Quarte and Sixte, and is visualized in Hanging Prime, and attacks in opposition, while Wing Chun has it's own fencing principles with the butterfly swords and the 6 1/2 point pole. To risk being inflammatory, Fencing even has equivalent trapping techniques with the Turkish disarms and dagger work that the Olympic sport has neglected.

    • @stylesar
      @stylesar 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for watching the video and sharing your insights! It's fascinating to see the similarities and connections between different martial arts. Both Wing Chun and Fencing indeed have their unique principles and techniques that contribute to their effectiveness. It's interesting to note how concepts like sticky hands sensitivity, centerline theory, simultaneous attack and defense, as well as inside/outside line engagement, can be found in both arts. Additionally, the use of specific weapons like butterfly swords and the 6 1/2 point pole in Wing Chun adds another layer to its fencing principles. It's true that different martial arts often have overlapping techniques and concepts, highlighting the universality of combat principles.

    Doesnt tell us much. Ill say this they are different and ive done both w blk belt in aikido through seikido. Aikido alone would have a hard time against krav maga but only if the krav maga guy knew the aikido guy was a trained individual. If he did not know and attempted a grab and throw he would be screaming with a broken arm and wrist. The wrist locks of aikido are truly quite efective when someone grabs you. If not its tough. For some reason people do grab often in street fights though.
