Wow! You got to see all of those Amazing African animals so closely!! It has to be an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing!
Your underwater footage is great to watch! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, I just use a GoPro and am very happy with the results.
Wow!!! Your videos are so wonderful!! Just happened to show up on TH-cam. I love the music!! My husband and I will be in Tahiti and Bora Bora, next week for 30th anniversary!! Can’t wait!!!!
it was a great trip, enjoy your time there! I appreciate the feedback.
This is well worth watching. Thanks for a great video. THis is one of the best travel videos I have watched.
Thank you, it was a great trip!
Great video. We leave in September for the Wildlife Oddessy Tour and this video makes me even more excited !
Thanks for this great video. We are looking to do the same trip Jan '25. Question: how many nights did you get to see the northern lights? I know it's all random but i am curious. Also, did you consider the lighting on the ship at night to be a problem when viewing them?
I don't remember exactly, something like 3 or 4 nights of good viewing.....I do remember one real cold night (3F), the stars were beautiful but no lights that particular night. And yes, it is dependent on the sun activity, and typically takes like a day for the particles to get to earth so they can give somewhat of a prediction on possible active nights. Check out swpc.noaa.gov for the NOAA maps. Some of the best shots we got were from our balcony, however up on the forward deck the ships lighting was converted to red so that you could walk around safely but the red light would no impede your night vision. Note - the shots in this movie were shot with the iPhone 13 Pro....having a good night sensitive cell phone is great in that it can help you see the lights and get great pics. An SLR would require setup and a tripod and we quickly gave up on trying to use our Cannon SLR.
Very cool beautiful videos and pictures. I also viewed your Africa video. We have booked Northern Lights in Feb 25. I am interested in what camera equipment you are using?
I was using an iPhone 13 Pro for the Aurora pictures. The lights are fairly faint, you can see they are out there but without a time lapse of 2 to 3 seconds you can’t catch the detail. The nice thing about the iPhone is that it takes a series photos and stitches them together. All were done by just holding the phone as still as I could and it did the rest. I tried my wife’s SLR but without a tripod that would just not work. Thanks for the compliments, these were both great trips. Note: the iPhone was also good to pan the sky’s looking for the lights, it does very well at night!
Does the ship move around a lot or does the ship's stabilizers smooth things out?
The stabilizers help, but in that big a storm the ship is still going to move around quite a bit. When I was out and around the ship there were a lot of people just staying in their room.
Really enjoyed watching your video. We're just about to book the same cruise for 2026. Looks like a fantastic experience. Any advice you would offer would be appreciated. 👏
Sorry I missed your note, please do look over some of my newer comments above.
Excellent video .....
Thank you!
Were people dressed up for dinner on this cruise?
We dressed with nice shirts and slacks, some had jackets….but not overly formal.

Thanks for sharing, it is so beautiful. Book for next March same ship, wonder which excursion you recommend, thanks ago.
Thank you, was a great cruise. We did a number of free tours that are offered during the day, then added to that tours we paid for to go out to see the lights. Some nights were very good, some were w/o any lights....ironically the best we saw (in my opinion) were in Tromso and from the ship. The night tours got in late, 11pm or later, for those Viking placed some sandwiches, deserts, and even a bottle of wine in the room each time were were out so late and missed dinner.......a real nice touch. Viking is a very nice and highly recommended. Enjoy!
@@williamwerner thanks, go with Viking for couple trips and next one in coming March. Seems a lot excursion doing same things in different places. I would like to try dog sledding, igloo, ice hotel. Want helicopters but is very expensive! Any advice?
Read through the descriptions of the various tours and go see things that interest you the most.....

We will be on this cruise that embarks 2-29-24, so looking forward to it.
Ver nice filming. We hope to do the same trip with Viking in january 2024.
That was a terrific journey! You enjoyed every minute, too!
Thank you, it was great!
Absolutely amazing! We’re set for Feb ‘24 sailing!
Beautiful, what a wonderful experience.
That was pretty cool. It seemed a little odd to me that they would carve things from Egypt, subSaharan Africa, and Australia in the Ice Hotel. The meat would have been too tempting. I would have had to try the whale! Speaking of which, the whales at the 35:40 mark were very cool! Thanks for the tour. Scott
Beautiful, just beautiful.
