Those are GT Forks, this is before they stamped them, like the frame and GT used forks from several various makers, even Akisu and DS, the bike is all correct. That dude knows his stuff.

Note - RECO AKA Racer Engineering Company made the frames from 1975 to 1977, then BMX products bought them out and took over all manufacturing processes. That is what I meant when I said Mongoose was started in 1977, I was referring to the real company that Skip Hess founded, not RECO or the other companies abroad that made frames.

All fascinating, thanks for showing us your bike. And I will always appreciate CYC for placing a little ad in Dirt Bike magazine for the Stormer via mail-order. I got one in early '76, plated frame with black Skyway Tuff-Wheels and only a rear coaster brake. And it was a fabulous bike for me, the only BMX bike I could get as an 'Army brat' American teen military dependent in Frankfurt, West Germany at the time. And I never noticed nor cared about the welds. It was strong enough for jumps and drops and that's all that mattered to me.

I can relate, I live on the space coast here in Florida, I am a journeyman tool and die/mold maker, and knowledgeable of engineering and much more, no one seems to have interest in me around here.
