MacBarringer, Nothing Takes The Place of You
Learning how to march like this helped me to grow stronger while in college some time ago. It has kept me alive.
There was nothing like halftime in the Orange Bowl at the Orange Blossom Classic. And the parade Overtown down 2nd Avenue was the place to be. It was showtime of the greatest Marching Band ever. Led by the legendary Doc Foster, they are still the best and the most awarded band ever. Being a FAMU graduate, class of 1977, my gratitude to all the talented and dedicated Professors who taught what is is to a Black Student. Love my Rattlers 🐍🐍🐍
Thank you. My sentiments exactly.
Forever Proud Of My Fellow Hihh SchoolBand Member AND Classmate!!!🎷🎺🥁🎻🎵🎼🎹❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hubba Doc!!
how did the death march began
Good question. They didn't do it in the 50s I don't think.

My bad. It wasn't BCU it was Georgia Southern 1985 in the Gator Bowl. The Bragg Stadium insert was for the movie T-Town.
After completing graduate school in 1986 I went down to Georgia Southern University for a job interview. I chose another job because it allowed me to become a museum professional. But I love North Georgia a lot because this is where my grandmother was born. She helped to raise me. And I miss her a lot.
Shocked... Tears😢
I still get Chills!!!!
Poetry in motion..
THE "MARCHING 100", SINGS, JUST AS WELL AS SHE PLAYS! THE MAESTRO HAS OUR UNDIVIDED ATTENTION! THE DISCIPLINE AND SELF CONTROL OF THE "FAMU MARCHING 100" IS INCOMPARABLE AND LEGENDARY!
FAMU'S WORLD REKNOWN "MARCHING 100" BAND, ARE NOT ONLY FAMOUS, WE ARE FAMILY! I THANK GOD FOR THIS ORGANIZATION! I AM FORTUNATE, TO HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE THE AWESOME POWER OF THE "MARCHING 100". NOT MANY THINGS HAVE OR POSSESS A MYSTIQUE OF THE SUPERNATURAL; BUT FAMU HAS THAT! WE ARE AN ANAMOLY, AND VERY SPECIAL! NO ONE EVER IMAGINED WE COULD EXIST!
In 1971 I was the only girl playing drums on a drum line in Miami Fla. I wrote a letter to FAMU asking if I could join the marching band but I was told no that it was an all male band, but in 1972 my letter allowed the band to allow girls in the band but by then I had already join the US AIR Force and could not get out to march in the band but I paved the way for girls to join the band.
The first girls I can remember were in 1974, they both played sax, one was name fennel and I forgot the other one but she was from jersey, my name was Crow 1974, cymbals, the same year Dr White,we called him Prof White back then came. By the way that was not the best slow one I’ve seen us do. Joe Bullard of course is magnificent as always, best announcer I’ve ever heard before or after, I’m not sure but I believe he my have started announcing in 74, very good timing, the best ever.
And you did. Someone told me about this years ago when the band was first allowed to admit women. You opened doors for a lot of young ladies.
It is called Discipline and will carry you through life.
They were using euphoniums and French horns and back then.
My sister used to say that these guys march other bands off the field.
Thank you for this! Here’s a little something for fun: th-cam.com/video/TQUTGgZbnMg/w-d-xo.html
Brother, I missed those days, when they were wearing their hair, and wearing clothes that make them look great and fines!!
If you we're in the opposing band, it was like running into a buzz saw in these days.
Hubba from Army Dog!!!
This book is now out of date.. New light you see.. JW dont print anymore.. It is now old light... You will get dissfellowshiped for takeing that to a K,H....
That's sad. Anything that changes its literature this much can't be real. See the thing is being born in during the time this was used does something to the mind. This is why I have a lot of social and psychological issues.
I love too sees band Take the field, some bands just walk on the field,,,,,, no passion involved, I guess,,
Them Boys put in Work FOR REAL!
Back when bands were BANDS!!! MUCH RESPECT from a Grambling "World Famed" Tiger..👍🏾
Thanks for posting this. 1985!
That's how you bring it on. Even the football coaching staff is cheering. Everyone wanted to know, what was the '100' gonna do next??
See how DISCIPLINE THEY WAS AND HOW CLEAN THAT DEATH MARCH WAS..Now look at the DEATH MARCH from at least the last 4 years.
The last 20 years
You only see what you wanna see.
I take it you weren't born in.
i have several jw books, there are demonic pics within their illustrations. I keep the books out of my house.

Why not give Jehovah’s Witnesses credit for these beautiful illustrations...
I miss these times, I miss 1985. 39 yrs old, LEON COUNTY.
The Marching 100 stands alone.....As a former alumni, I would know that....Gestapo 92' Mad Dog 20/20...doing a mean ass freeze turn....
thanks for posting and sharing.
You can tell that that's way back in the day they were using French horns instead of mellophones.
Congrats Mr Charles
Whomever voted thumbs down to the band is out of their minds I saw them in person marching against ole school southern university and in 1966 in Baton Rouge and Tennessee State University marching band and they blew my mind with Death march and not taking anything away from Southern's marching a dance routine to " Knock of Wood" by Sam and Dave and Tennessee State marching came the field with War by Edwin Star completely impressed at age 16 I am 67 years old liked all three bands back then better! It was at Tennessee State University in Nashville in 1970 marching with the Ocean Of Soul under Benjamin Butler III
Eddie Floyd bro
Nasty subliminal images in this book. :(
You're just reading too much into that. Demons don't really have goat heads and hooves, they don 't even have bodies. They are spirits, and in non-physical.
The book should be burned
Raw
this is and sadly"was" FAMU
This VIDEO gives me the CHILLS
Would love to see more of the Raines Band footage!
Do you have the full video of the Raines band as shown in the beginning of this footage?

My uncle right there.
This takes me back to 1979. TSU vs FAMU at Vanderbilt stadium. TSU did the fast march and death march prior to 1979.
Wow! French horns. Not Mellophones.
It's a shame he went out in disgrace.
I know.
If I may, what happened?
SneakerShopTalk he got caught up in the hazing situation which made him resign from being the band director
Kidd Frank this was the situation where the brother died a few years ago?
SneakerShopTalk yeah in 2011
dyno city what year did you play in the band dude we did short change 5 times
1985 at the Jacksonville Gator Bowl
This was shot in 1985 at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida at FAMU verses BCC game.
FAMU played BCC in Tampa in 1985.
Kofi Hemmingway do some research youngin
@@keeloneptune727: He is actually correct. A&M played Georgia Southern in 1985 at Jacksonville, Florida. My family and I always attended those Bold City Classic games! Great memories!
