Osprey Porter 46 - Review after 6 Months
It is no bamboo!
Thank you making this video, gave me the needed confidence in selection (yes I also suffer from choice paradox :-))
I have a question do i need gaiters for a daylight backpacking in a snow with keb trausers (havy waxed) what do you think?
This is great. Not much on linking the daylites to the 46. These are great Rex’s. Thanks
Uuummm....ahhh....uummm....
so why use plastic buckles .. and not lundhags z clips ... i cant call them i have a kajka 75 and 65 for summer theyre awesomely adjustable ,awesomely comfy . got to admit with the ally z clips would be an almost made for the gods pack !
They aren't advertised as being waterproof - they come with a treatment to help proof the leather.
Love the point of reference of "apocalypse"! Ready to try the new VIVObarefoot Tracker Forest ESC? With Michelin soles ;) That's what I am review hunting for but happy to come across your review of the previous verson. Very helpful, thank you!
Did you get them? I just got these boots because they were on offer so about £60 cheaper than the forest esc.
@@dmythica Yes. Thick and Heavy but waterproof.
@@sylvijawildflower you like them? Or is that a bad thing? I guess it means they should last longer.
I think the brown ones look the BEST beat up, as opposed to new and/or polished. I can’t wait for my new ones to look patina’d.
this is super helpful, fjallraven should host this video on their site. thank you!
Cheers buddy iv been after a bigger bag my 65l ospreys are slim .
Hold on hold on....where did you get this model with different outsole?
At first glance, I pursue headphones like qc35 ii, px7 and b&o h9. I have all of em but the biggest flaw I had was how its consume in my backpack. I travel very often due to works, then I realize I only need these old QC20. Compact is all I need after all headphone I’ve had. This video really help me a TONS. Thanks man Eventually I used to brands/reputation over practicalities. Now I pay the price
I live in Washington and it is muddy and wet how good are these at keeping your feet dry?
lol. Some one didnt watch the whole review.
Good video 👍🏽
Have you had to fix the soles over the this period? I find that I have to glue some parts to stop them from breaking. th-cam.com/video/IimgDqWT2zE/w-d-xo.html
Are they black or dark brown?
After one use sheessh
What’s the deferent between Apple device or Samsung device?? I want to use theme for my pc . Please answer
also i have watched a video was taking about the fake on and the real on . I afraid to buy the fake on
They look pretty good for two years. Im considering them. Do you wax the shoes after cleaning ?
I bought two, as an early backer, both failed with super light usage and proper storage. Sorry not sorry THIS THING SUCKS! Led lights burn out due to the heat they generate. The entire product fails when stored based on the manufacturer's instructions. The best part, they will tell you its not their problem, it's yours.
Hey! What membrane do these boots have? I can not find it anywhere not even in Vivo official page. I’m wondering because in most WP membrane shoes you can not wear thick woollen socks because wool hair stuck into membrane spores and blocks breathability. Do you have experience with that? :)
I am getting a new left knee on March 30th. I had my right one replaced 2 years ago. Thank you for the review as I am going to buy these right before the new knee. I'll be getting rid of all my shoes now. But I will have two new wheels. These boots are perfect to wear right out of the gate.
How have they held up?
Have you ever had a problem using the osprey 46 as a carry on?
did any airlines say it was too big for a carry on?
Shouldn’t you wax and condition them way more?
My battery already dead after 2 years. Bose do NOT offer help or any service for battery replacement. Yes that brick really annoying.
Just bought the pack as well. Amazing !!!!!! Best pack Ive ever owned
They look awful after only one use.
I destroyed a pair of vibram boot soles in a month of hiking off trails on dolomites.
I really appreciated the humble, functional-casual wearing benefits of your review g, a real breath of fresh air compared to the hiker's* review. Arcy's although made lightweight for hikers can fully be appreciated for their functionality in everyday situations. Respect g
That battery sure is an eyesore
Can you use it while its charging?
Yeah but if you use nc while charging, you hear some buzzing noise, it's not that big of a deal, you won't notice it sometimes. If ypu turn off noise cancelling you wont hear it anymore but i like more that buzzing sound than white noise from outside😂
No no no no no. Where did you get those shoe laces from? Mine are ridiculously short?
Thank you so much! Really helped me out.
is it normal that they have slight noise in completely quiet enviroment...pls anwer so i can return mine in time if they are faulty....
Had mine for 11 months, the tread has worn flat in a couple of places and one shoe developed a hole where the leather and rubber join, it didn't just separate but an actual hole with missing material. 11 months is not the worst but it's not great either giving they are $400aud, I probably won't be buying a new pair unless there is some change or new development to the materials.
I have watched your other video on the previous pair. What's your maintenance routine for these boots/the previous pair? As to the length of the laces, have you tried the method shown here: th-cam.com/video/LySaSsNx0XY/w-d-xo.html ?
What about sizing? Would you advise sizing up?
Would love to see a review from you on the updated boot if you bought them. Thanks
You could always swap the laces out for 550 cord. This way they're the length you like and strong AF. Lol.
@WakandaForevar use as is. They sell kits so you can connect the ends of laces on.
@WakandaForevar nah. And hey, then you have a survival tool right on your shoes. You can gut the laces in an emergency to make things in the wilderness 🤘
I'll be backpacking in South East Asia for the next year. Would you think these might be to insulated for the humid heat over there? Also would you still recomend them 😆 Thanks for the great review!
Yeah. I had the lights come on as well. Generated a lot of heat in the enclosed bag.
Do you think a 65l is enough for 7 days backpacking trip?
Nice video!! 🏕
Why is no one talking about how impossible it is to rest your head against the airplane wall with the Bose headphones, or be able to sleep at all resting your head with those big caps over your ear. I love my QC35, but I prefer the QC20 in the airplane, because sleeping is so much easier
This is a very good point, never thought about that. Thanks man
I do the same. Also less sweat
Try not to say (um) so much
Or do an um count
I found connecting the side compression straps top to bottom (diagonal) compresses the sides much better than connecting them horizontally. It really pushes the sides in.
Thanks for sharing. :) You almost got Fjällräven right. Nice to hear! :D
