Arcs vamp explanation is a little too real. Like we see it all the time irl how humans can lose their humanity when they don't know what it's like to actually struggle in life or gain more wealth and power than they will ever need. It's easy to lose all sense of reality. Now imagine that for a vampire who loses their mortality itself and it's easy to see why they lose their human values to such a degree

For anyone interested in the specifics of Hikaru's birth (not revealed in the main VN): The whole rape scene with Subaru is included in the jp fandisc. Kageaki was secretly drugged to the point he could not control his body, but he remained fully conscious of everything that was going on. He kept resisting the drug till the very last moment, and while Subaru resisted him completely at first when he came and forced himself on her, she gave in to him after seeing the pain he was going through (not clear if she knew about the drug), and how inevitable the situation had become. Subaru didn't seem to know beforehand what the elder was making Kageaki do. Frankly, it's just an extremely dark and upsetting scene, and I don't recommend seeing it. Completely unfair to Subaru and Kageaki who were forced into the act by their circumstances. Also, it's crazy when you go back through the game how much of Kageaki and Hikaru's interactions pointed to their relationship as father-daughter. Hikaru always said everything to Kageaki, but we were constantly misdirected to assume she meant Akitaka. It makes so much sense. The choice with the "daughter" was the most obvious example of it.

55:36 30 percent is arcs default strength pre shiki killing. She had 80 percent of that 30 cut when shiki killed her and has only gotten weaker being forced to fight opponents. Thats why she seems like shes constantly on the edge of death, cuz shes literally running on fumes

The voice level for your mic is a bit low so it's hard to hear your commentary this episode compared to the game sound

Now you can kind of see what I was saying before. There are people who have auto negative reaction to the scale and scope of things as well as expansion of the lore because the original is iconic. I think it's fair to personally prefer something shorter, smaller and less in your face but I don't think its for the worse to have a reimagining like this. Just personally speaking it shows how much nasu and tm in general has leveled up
