United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 19 มิ.ย. 2015
The Tampa Bay Symphony was founded in 1986 as a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation. The 80+ musicians, all of whom are volunteers, come from many walks of life and all ages. Teachers, lawyers, doctors, housewives, and of course, students and retirees are among those represented. In 2012, Mark Sforzini was appointed Music Director and Conductor, replacing Dr. Jack Heller who led the orchestra the previous 25 years. Sforzini is well recognized in the Tampa Bay Community and is also the Artistic Director of the St. Petersburg Opera.
The mission of the Tampa Bay Symphony is to promote interest in classical music in the Tampa Bay area, to encourage and educate youth throughout Florida, to promote the creation of new music and provide a channel for living composers to have their works recognized and performed, to provide an opportunity for qualified volunteer musicians of all ages to perform challenging music and to enhance and enrich the artistic and cultural life of our community.

My community orchestra is playing this weekend!! ❤️
I've heard this before but can't remember when.
4:40 such beauty!!!!
Splendid performance of a rarely-heard work. It is shameful that W.G. Still is not a familiar American composer.
The kettle-drummer flubbed the beginning. Can't stay on tempo.
Not easy for Pamela. The orchestra seems to be semiprofessional or amateur, mostly to loud, not breathing with the music and the solo violon plays... but she floats well through the beautiful music. 👏
15:00 audition
THE BEST
Mesmerizing. Beautiful. Deeply moving. You can’t say more about a composition or performance. Bravo!
John McWhorter of the NYT mentioned Still in his story on Rhapsody in Blue on 2/22/24. I found this marvelous performance and heard Still’s work for the first time. Thank you !

can’t wait to play this for region orchestra, it sounds fun.
I played this arrangement in the All State band in HS. I have loved it ever since. Few people do it right, though. It needs a lot of punch up front. fff strike on the timpani and bell tones from the brass and a slight pause before the last group of ascending chords at the end and a very big finish. One of the most beautiful arrangements of this song of all time.
Presently studying this composer in musicalogy. Very happy to come across this exceptional recording. Thanks Maestro.
Brilliant and alive.
Wonderful love Gershwin!!

This guy is a great moorish American,., Afro American king
William Grant Still composed five symphonies, this is my favorite. Blues, rhythm, and wonderful melody. Thanks for making this beautiful symphony available. It sounds very good with my Bose earphones.
A very engaging and wonderful piece of music. I appreciate hearing it here. thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤
Very good job, Eunice. 👏👏👏
Spectacular!
There was nothing wrong with this performance. I see why he won the competition.
Thank you so much Mark, and TBS, for all of the friendship, all of the joy, and the wonderful musical journey that you have allowed me to travel with you!!!! I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
So wonderful to see all you beautiful TBS colleagues. A concert you can all be proud of. The cohesiveness of this performance is so well worth noting. Tip of the hat to Maestro Sforzini and all the members of TBS. As a community orchestra, you excel and continue to show your dedication to an endeavor that is not your primary focus in life, yet is still of the very highest caliber. My heart is full, seeing and hearing all of you again!
I love it😂😂😂😂😅😅😅🎉
Classy music and classy rendition. Bravi!
Happy Birthday to Malcolm Arnold REST IN POWER Blessings and Hugs 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Very well performed by the young man...orchestra did a wonderful job! nice concerto!
Mr. Still was a wonderful composer, who wrote some great pieces...this is one of them, and well done by the Tampa Bay Symphony! Thank you!
Lovely voice!
Always been one of my favorite Holst pieces, I can claim atenuous connected by having delivered books to St Pauls Girls School where he was musicmaster.
Danny Elfman wanna be. Hurtful and arrogant teacher. Studied under Molineux and found him to be extremely rude.
How has no one commented on this beautiful interpretation

What a beautiful interpretation
Well done!!! This was like perfection if she wasn't as nervous towards the ending or whatever happened, this was still a splendid performance by Eunice Park!!! This really give me the motivation to learn this piece!
I am retired from 40 years of symphony performance and it warms my heart to see and hear this fine orchestra in my hometown of Tampa Florida. I was born there in 1944, raised mostly in Houston Tx, and now live in northwest Arkansas. What the Tampa environs were like my early childhood memories is well characterized in this gloriously beautiful work by my favorite composer. Thank you! I am subscribed.
Excellent!
Difficult oboe
Absolutley beautifully preformed!
He is ok. There is another young tenor many times better than this one, whose name is Mathew White. His voice is very beautiful, he sings excellently and I am sure if this orchestra invites him , he would sing a few arias with them. Now is the time to invite Mr. White. I am afraid that later, he might not be available as he will undoubtedly become very busy and hard to get. Don't wait.
Shame about the echo sound
Yes. She did such a fantastic job, and it's a shame they gave her so much reverb. I hope anyone watching this can listen through that and hear what a wonderful narration she gave.
