    Also if you work for someone else they want to slam you solid for 8 hours. Personally 5 is my limit. I set boundaries and bosses get visibly annoyed. But my client feedback is excellent and I’m reliable. A lot harder to stand your ground as a beginner but not every therapist has the same capacity.

    This is awesome! Ive always felt that the photo “templates” were so generic and kinda lazy. But I think that because they’re so easy to batch and dump online, MTs opt for them. This is a great example of how doing a little extra work before hand will make you stand out from the crowd. Thanks Joe!!!

      100% Photos and templates are very convenient, and posting something is better than nothing, but we're trying to attract clients, and video or even taking photos with clients does much better to attract more clients and interest😀

    As a way to prepare an area that is going to be work manually is ok because it does help by warming the area and bring more blood flow. I still believe that the best tool for therapy is always going to be our hands.

  • @samimarshall3273

    I would like to invest in a massage gun and slowly introduce the use of it into my work where it can really benefit my client - but never to replace the technique work we do with our hands. :)

      Listen to your body : ) Even if you have to slowly taper your sessions down. It took me a long time before doing this!

  • @FluenyTalkShow
    @FluenyTalkShow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Was this at your own home or studio ? For example I make house calls for a 1 hour at 130, first session I discount about 20%, depending on travel. What would you recommend for me who is traveling back and forth ?

    • @joetherapymassage
      @joetherapymassage 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there's two (maybe three) ways to think about it. How much time in total the session takes including travel and pricing it that way OR a fixed price unless travel is significant. I always use my hourly to base pricing off of and find what I would be comfortable with when I do things like travel to clients homes or special requests.

  • @FluenyTalkShow
    @FluenyTalkShow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s awesome to hear this, bc I’m so new to the world of MT, a lot of old school therapist at least in case don’t really believe in marketing themselves or try to be active on social media, and which had made me so afraid to start promoting myself.

    I have followed similar approach. I also offered a lower price than my local competitors but to get the big “discount” they needed to pay for 3 sessions after the first session. That gave my advance returns and cash flow. I priced myself at $80/hr session (competition was 90-110 AUD) and I sold 3 sessions for $180. All of my clients so far have bought the 3 session pass. Also ego drive a high price point. The fact is you can’t price yourself the same as someone that has been in the game for 5 years no matter how good you think you are!
