Footage was still better than what a lot of folk post on TH-cam! Thanks for sharing 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
great to see them still going takes me back to my teens along time ago
They are a load of fun. Love it. Who is in the current line up?
I think - Clancey Jones - main vox / Bass, Morley Adams - Guitar and Jack Scales - Drums
pure class.....
Excellent filming. Looks like a really high standard of modelling.
80 years old and still rock and rolling. Brilliant
Those guys masked up weren’t up to something naughty 🙄😬😂 Great footage of your local circuit though Tony 👍🏻
Thanks Ben - Never a copper around when you need one!
Thank you. Great camera work !!!!!
Thanks Pete
Fantastic Tony. Some great spots there 👌
Thanks Pete
Enjoyed that, thanks.
wouldn't call Dewsbury 'stunning' seems very 'beige' and lacking in fine detail in places, slow running too. modern ( contemporary ) Bardun was nice though.
Hi mrbluesky, thanks for watching - I have to agree Bardun was also very good - with DCC sound fitted locos making a welcome appearance. It could be my Warts and All filming didn't do Dewsbury justice or maybe the period isn't your thing (mine neither to be honest) - I did also get the impression there may be more to do too. However, the quality of the buildings on close inspection was superb and I don't think much (if any) of the locos or stock is commercially available.
Everything you see on Dewsbury is scratchbuilt exactly to scale including the track, all the buildings are scale models of those that existed in the period modelled. Yes the buildings could benefit from some weathering and everything is a little too tidy, but lacking in detail it certainly ain't in my opinion.
Thanks for clarifying - and exactly why I described the work on Dewsbury as 'Stunning'.
Excerlent video, always great to see the local stuff! This was sadly a time I had stopped "train spotting" not sure why.
Thanks Mike ... Just wish I had more footage from that period, especially the local stuff - I think the shot taken from the roof of Needler's Sweet Factory must be unique - I was working there at the time as a maintenance electrician, and managed to get up there during a nicely timed break.
Fascinating footage of times gone by sadly. Do any engines visit the docks now? Years ago I saw a 66 in Goole docks but nothing since.
Thanks Julian - class 66's still run to the Dock on a fairly regular basis - there is usually a Gypsum train which runs in around 06:30 and departs around 10:30 at Hessle Road Jnc - doesn't run every day though. There is also a train of steel coils which did run most days, but has been a bit erratic lately.
Superb footage Tony. 👌🏻
Cheers Ben - a lot of others around, so couldn't get the best shots, but didn't turn out too badly.
Nice video... Was there something wrong 60087 in the first clip? It seemed to be either blowing up dust from the ballast at the front bogie on the loco or it was leaking something... It didn't happen in the second clip!
Hi James - thanks for the kind comments - I think it was dropping sand to combat wheelslip.
Brilliant Tony . Fantastic watch
Thanks Pete

Great vid Tony. Lovely to see a GB liveried 60 on the flow. I think the livery suits them so much
Cheers Ben - agree that livery does suit the 60's so well.
Brilliant Tony
Thanks Pete. Need to get over your way for some of those 69's you've been filming - Not been very lucky with the weather recently - always seems cloudy on my days off!
10 out of 10, especially for this brilliantly well-filmed video, taken at the lincolnshire wolds railway out there.
Thanks William - a great day and value for money - will be great if they can meet their aim of getting to Louth.
Is that a first ? 3x66 on a passenger train?
Not sure, but could well be - probably a 1st in DB red at least
They managed five 66s hauling a railtour last year
I have had 5x66 on a passenger before on the Humber Super Snipe railtour
"I love Lyndon warts and all." Ladybird Johnson. I loved President Johnson myself warts and all!
A real life Thomas the Tank engine.
Think every preserved railway has one!
Excellent coverage, and what a day! Sun makes all the difference to your video, so clear! [ love to clean off all that bloody pointless vandalism, they tell us is art!]
Glad you enjoyed it
Great to see the extra tug action in your area Tony. I do like the shots of the bridge. Impressive looking bridge 👍🏻
Thanks 👍 Finally managed to catch one in sun today!
@tonyb6376 look forward to seeing that 👍🏻
Ce réseau est un pur régal et la musique est parfaite pour avoir l'impression d'être dans un ailleurs imaginaire. Bravo à vous.
Excellent video there, and superb photography also the shots of the embankments, studded with the lovely red poppies, gave it an interesting slant! Very 👍 good, pleasure to watch.....thanks.
Thanks for your kind comments Nigel - The poppies on the embankment were as a result of the previous years work to shore up the embankments. They completely dug out and replaced the embankment sides during this work and then put a membrane down before covering in fresh top soil.
Nice footage Tony. I do like the 70s. They sound good and are very claggy. I suppose these trains are served by Rylstone now. (although still Tarmac so I suppose it's whatever the customer requires)
Thanks Ben. Unfortunately they only ran for a few weeks and some were 66 hauled. These were in addition to the Rylstone workings so not entirely sure of the purpose. Really enjoyed your GBRf hour long epic last week - great pics at the intro - I usually watch on the tv though (with a beer), so can't comment at the time - then usually forget!! - keep up the good work.
@tonyb6376 Thanks Tony. 😊
I caught 60.026 at Eastrington last week. I was surprised to see it, but was a welcome sight 😊
Yee gods the state of those tracks , it's like India .
Indeed - hence the clamping of the points and very gingerly crossing.
If 60s are so bad and unwanted by their past owner, why do other companies happily find work for them?
not many around now . 100 built. I worked on them from new. They have not the reliability of the 66's . niggley faults let them down. They worked fine in BR / EWS days but got worse over the years.
@DOCTORDROTT yes, I saw most of them from new as they stood outside the brush works awaiting delivery to BR.
They had a few early faults, which let them down as with all brand new stock, but they eventually settled down to be good workhorses. The fact that they sacrificed speed for pulling power caused a small pathing issue , but lack of maintenance and being stood for long periods after the 66 deluge has done for them. DB doesn't see refurbishments as financially viable given all their spare 66s. Other companies see refurb vs a new loco as cost effective.
Glad these are back in our area. I live opposite the aire valley line and have had many years of Tilcon double 25s then double 31s 47s etc. Im bored with 66s.
Plenty more Tug action to come Tony. The 60s are allocated to Rylstone work now 😁
Brilliant - Thanks Ben was hoping might be the case!

Cheers Ben, I was a bit miffed at missing the 70's arrival - I'd dropped my wife at York railway station and had hoped to get there in time, but arrived at Church Fenton with no time to check - if I'd gone straight to the road bridge after parking up!

Great vid Tony. I used to see Class 50's regularly for a while in the early '80's running in from Doncaster BREL, usually light but actually saw one on the Tilcon service . I used to stay at my Grandparents in Melton :)
Thanks Martin - Wow - would have liked to have seen that - a 50 on the Tilcon😁

Great vid Tony. Sad though as you said in the previous video this will probably be it for the tractors on these circuits

just catching up with your vids Tony..love 'em especially as I live on Spring Bank West right behind the bridge at Ideal! just getting back into freight trains after a long absence...really like the docks line , sadly little used after it was upgraded, but a great document to Hull's rail history :)
Great to hear from you Martin and thanks for the kind comments. Unfortunately it's a bit slow around Hull at the moment for freight. The Railhead treatment trains have boosted things a bit for the last few weeks - but there are rumours abound that this year could be the last ;-( I do have some old footage on here from the early 90s taken up on the embankments at Spring Bank, Ella Street and Boothferry Park.
