hope ur doing good bro, keep chasing that voiceacting/radio host career and you will get it!!
i cant find download link on discord
hey :). I stumbled across your videos and I'm loving them. I've been sim drifting for around 2 years now and, whilst I'm no pro, I can definitely hold a tandem for a while in servers. I noticed you had a habit of "stabbing" the throttle. It would often cause your car to stall out of a drift. An example would be at 3:33. If you're looking to modulate the throttle, less dramatic modulations will give you more control of the car. Think of it more like "squeezing". Just remember the car reacts to whatever you do in a delayed way. If you let go of the throttle, which you only do when transitioning or using the handbrake, the car will want to do jus that, but a moments later. Same thing with countersteering. If trying to cut power (let's say youve got too much angle), think about using the clutch as its much more effective at cutting power to the wheels than letting the accelerator go, since letting off the throttle slowly lowers RPM to wheels, whilst clutch does it immediately.
Love this series! Whats this map by the way? i was looking for a big open space like this.
Have you tried onboard cam instead of orbit cam? It should let you see the rotation a lot better if your cam is fixed to the car
I just started to learn as well. I have watched the videos you have mentioned in this and the previous episodes and I immediately began to think that some of my settings are messed up, because it was really hard to even perform some of the basic slides with shifting the mass only (ofc double-checking it did not help at all). I know it sounds bad, but I am glad to see some honest learning experience and that we are not alone here :D
just seen this vid. this is going to help me when i get my wheel in the next few days hope you continue doing great in the next videos and continue content after i catch up so underrated like your comment below said
Yo please make more progression videos! I'm getting a setup for Christmas and would love to see how far you've come so that I know somewhat what to expect. I know that everyone learns at a different pace, just want to see your pace.
hey :) I taught one of my friends in around 2 months. He's not perfect, but it's much better than what I did after 2 months. Here's a few tips: -Be gentle. The car doesn't want to wrestle with you, so work with it. Squeeze the throttle, squeeze brake, don't stab. -If you're frustrated, do something else. It's super easy to get frustrated whilst learning the ropes, so my advice would be to do something else on the wheel. That way, you can work on car control still, which actually still improves your drifting, without drifting. -Start with drifting in a circle, then figure 8s, then one corner, then multiple corners, then a whole track. Building up is really key, because the speed also increases over time. -Start learning with your wheel at 720 degrees of rotation (this should be around a week). This comes with the idea that there are two things that control your car in drifting: your wheel and your pedals. It's much, MUCH harder to learn both at the same time. By lowering the wheel rotation, it's much easier to counter steer, which let's you learn how each pedal can be used, enough so you're ready for 900 degrees without feeling like you're overwhelmed -Get a belt-driven or direct drive wheel instead of gear-based. Logitech wheels are much harder to learn to drift on because they're just much slower to react. Thrustmaster wheels are belt driven, and the next step up would be a direct-drive wheel, but those are expensive, and to be honest I'm doing well just on a T300.
Bro I like your videos
Ctoretto's advice is good though you will find at a pro level you really want to drift at full throttle most of the time, coming off of full breifly to make adjustments. This matters when drifting at high speed and angle and with high grip pro cars that will grip up if you dont drive them hard enough
You learn to modulate your speed tharefore by bleeding it off with angle and momentum and car placement, rather than strictly throttle control
watch Hynesz's peddles to see (one of the best pro sim drifters in the world)
Hey bro, what's the track name? 👏
its the track named drift its in ac by default
What is the map called?
Just found this series. I can relate to it as I also have a G29/G920 so it's nice to see someone using the same gear and making good progress. As for the shoes thing: they also help you spread your strength more even and thus you can get better braking and more control over the accelerator.
yoo i was your 100th follow! congrats!
Hope you’re still going with this buddy! Just wanted to give a tip that helped me. You need to use a longer gear, right now you’re either full on or full off but if you use a longer gear like 2ed at 75mph ish you can modulate the throttle which means you can modulate your grip. Good luck!
love the series dude! do you have the link to the track ?
Loving these videos would be really cool to see your foot work too.
quick tip start using the nismo 4:1:1 gears most ppl i know use it
Can you provide the car link?
I went 3 days straight before i was able to drift this whole section at first its kinda hard to feel how throttle and counter steer feels but once you get the hang of its nuts 😂 i cant also believe what 3 days can do in drifting i thought ill spend a year before i can drift properly
Nice video. I just ordered a G920 for Christmas and can't wait to get it and set it up. I've always enjoyed racing games and wanted to learn to drift in them. You seem to have a pretty good handle on the basics. I'll definitely be looking at the tutorials you linked.
can u share g29 config? on AC and Ghub?
nice man im thinking about getting an g29 too and start drifting
personaly would wait a lil bit and get something like t300, i have the g29 and kinda regret it becouse, it's either skill issue or hardware, but going fast with high angle is a challenge due to the fact that the wheel just doesn't rotate fast enough by it self. ionow still a good wheel for everything else and you 100% can drift/have fun on it but seeing how other ppls wheels rotate super quick, its kindof a disappointment
but if you do get a lut and turn your ffb up (ive used 800 steering degree b4 so it has to rotate less, it works, but it's kinda a meh solution)
Hey man nice vid and keep it up! I want to give some tips 1. Learn wheel tracing : it helps you to now where the car’s steering and to give counter steer faster and better 2. Clutch kicks: there are good fore initiating drifts 3. If you have a E break use it to initiate drift to ( remember to put the clutch in when doing that ) You can watch Noriyaro he’s a great TH-cam drifter. And always have fun and pasión! Cheers bro
Janky drift server is so much fun !
hi i just started learning how to drift as well on a g29 and since i dont have a ebrake im learning clutch kicking. Its so good to see another struggler going through the same journey and with a similar progress as well! although i have alot of trouble with exits as my car wobbles need to work on my throttling. Hope to drift with you someday when we get better
Been following ur journey, i see great improvement, keep it up man🤩🤩. im also new into drifting, its not easy at all especially on AC 😩 u mind sharing your discord so we can hit the track together sometimes ?
what track
Drift
just watched all of your progression thus far and it's amazing! i'm glad there is someone making drifting progession videos in more length. i'm about to get a moza r5 and i'm very excited to learn how to drift on it! watching your vids gives me a good understanding of what i should pursue in regards to basics and the timeframe for learning these things. can't wait to see your progression in the future!
What car do you use
I’m learning just like you bro your doing great
Me : hold my controller,a7 assist,slideboyz carpacks...
My favorite music would probably be scream rap, rock, "yall-ternative", and country. I listen to a lot of genres I cant just pick one, its hard enough picking those four😆
We def need to get on a server and start some janky drifts
Do you have videos of when you first started like you where spinning out?
Not many, a lot of that was edited out, I feel like it wasn’t the greatest footage to watch. But some of my episodes are unedited and I still spin out quite a bit
map name please
Airport Drift Track - it’s a mod you can download if you are on pc
i listen to yeat, 2pac, dr. dre, eminem. 50 cents, ez e...
Nice! I can get down with that!
howa the force feed back on g29
I’d say it’s decent but I don’t have anything to compare it to. Someday I’m going to have a fanatec csl dd though!
ye aparently it has bearly any but im going to my friends house with a simm ove 1k and he has one of the best weels lol so ill tell u then haha @@BiPolarPolarBearGames
Sounds like fun! Let me know how it is!
80’s, Disco, and old Country
I don’t know much disco but I can definitely listen to some 80’s music for sure!
Man I am having the worst time with transitions. We should definitely hit up an empty server and wreck our cars.
Also I'm happy you uploaded again. It's nice to see someone going through the same thing as you.
Let’s do it sometime! Transitioning is tough at first!
ill join in with you guys lol, i just started learning@@BiPolarPolarBearGames
I hope some of these help :) Transitions: -Letting go of throttle = transition. -The car has a delayed reaction to everything you do, so letting go of the throttle and waiting for the car to transition will mean it's too late. -You'll need to get on the throttle pretty much straight after you let go of the throttle. -SQUEEZE THE THROTTLE DON'T STAB. -Make sure you're countersteering earlier, rather than later.
This by far is your best video, you gave such good useful information…. I will have to try this out on my John Deere tractor in farm simulator 22… LOL LOL
Show me some sick drifts!!
how much force feedback gain are u using bro?
I’m gunna be honest with you… I have no idea 😂 I suppose whatever is default for this wheel!
Hey dude. I am also just starting my wheel journey on asseto . Let know if you want to crash into some walls or something !
Yo that sounds fun! I’d be down to sometime! I also drive on the no hesi server a lot!
as everyone else said, first person is the move, just make sure you have NECK FX ON in first person!! nd also 900degree angle, starting with a lower ffb helps heaps in beginning too. ur also entering so shallow on figure 8s resulting in you throwing more angle then sliding out. also let off on transitions. one thing thatll help you become smoother is never let off throttle suddenly, but rather let off slowly in a squeezing method on and off throttle, never want to be bouncing off full throttle and no throttle (if that made any sense haha) GL
Hey thanks for the explanation! That definitely helps! I’ll start trying to focus on that more!
maybe you should try with a handbrake, personally I find it much easier to directly set the right angle in turns and I also use it during left/right transitions it's much smoother
I definitely want to get one! I’m sure I’ll have one in future episodes!
Name of the track? pls
Airport Drift Track! It’s a mod
man love this, i love how you were straight up an honest and drifting isn't the easiest in assetto and every car feels completely different, but its just seat time, i think you're doing great and if i could make a suggestions try cockpit view with neck fx, only for the realism but completely up to you
Yo! I really appreciate the kind words!! In future episodes you’ll see me be in cockpit view for sure!!
You need to play in 1st person. A lot of subtle things are hard to catch in 3rd person.
I’ve slowly been trying that out! You’ll see some first person in future episodes!
Play in first person or at least hood view please, it's better to get used to it earlier than later.
Thanks for the tip! I’ve been experimenting with first person! You’ll be seeing it in future episodes for sure!
this car is called the ferrari eight hundred twelve superfast
Thanks! I couldn’t remember at the time 😅
