When I've tried scanning down combat sites in the past, I seem to always get the ones that are limited to frigate or destroyer. I put together a Metamorphosis fit to try in those, but now of course I seem to only be finding sites where I definitely need a bigger ship. Those episodes will be up next week sometime.

Thanks! The idea with this channel is to show how playable the game is as an Alpha, so full time Omega isn't really a goal. I will buy a month though, if I have PLEX and there's a good reason, like with the winter event.

Northern California. We had record highs for a bit over a week. Still just in the 55-65F range, but warm for this time of year. My daughter lives in Philly though, so I definitely heard about the cold bomb.

Thanks! I usually sell my loot on contract to Highsec Buyback. Occasionally I'll sell it myself in Hek, if it's expensive and the price is better, but for most stuff it doesn't feel worth the time and effort to me.

This series started as a noob guide, and I was pretty deliberate about covering all the normal activities. Might be worth a look if you're ever interested in trying Eve again.

Mining is probably the safest of the 3 activities, though you need the skills. Combat is definitely doable if you have a battleship. There are some good Praxis fits that are alpha friendly. I'd probably go with Rapid Heavy Missile Launchers (which are good against all targets) or pulse lasers (hard to hit frigates, so you'll rely more on drones for those, but you can take advantage of all the boosters they give you). I think my Praxis fit actually tanked better than my Typhoon, even though the Typhoon looked better on paper.

LOL, I literally just said that yesterday (I think that episode is scheduled for next week sometime though). I never thought much about whale sharks until I saw them up close at the Osaka aquarium, and ever since they just randomly pop into my head every couple of months.

Probably, but at the cost of time. In this case I think it's faster to just jump to a station and repair when I need to rather than constantly playing the range game. If I was in a ship with less tank or more range, the calculus would be different.

I didn't mean to move much. Eject something and circle it at 1000. Just not being completely stationary.

The "magic 14" are the skills that make the most difference for fitting ships. They reduce CPU and/or Power Grid use for certain modules, making it easier to fit higher quality parts. Their generally considered the most important skills to train.

You can put stuff in the Projects hangar and it will count towards the project. You only need permissions if you want to take things out. You do have to be at a corporate office to contribute though, which means you have to be in Olbra. I just set up the projects for my own convenience though. Don't worry about it if it's not convenient for you, they aren't important.

I'm also a big fan of the Rupture. A lot of people like the Stabber though, so I thought I should try to understand why. Although, these days I usually like missiles more than guns, so I go with the Bellicose, or even better the Scythe Fleet Issue.

Yeah, there's a lot to it. There's plenty I still don't know, and I've played a lot more than what's shown in this channel. If you're looking for early game advice, the whole point of this series is documenting the progression of this character from day 1, and I provided a lot more advice in the early episodes.

I'll probably pay for a 3 day pass at the end of the month, so I can get all the skill points from the daily rewards. Unless I get a big windfall of isk and can afford to get the rest of the PLEX I need, of course.

I'll leave title suggestions on the videos i've seen, another thing: youtubes search works on title, description and tags, you have 3 tags on your videos (EVEOnline,Alpha,Newbro) which leaves you with 480 empty characters in your tags. you can bulk add thes using youtubes own options, i believe same goes with the description. I know you said you have limited time so i suggest making the best use of that limited time and including a tiny bit of work to seeing some results on your youtube videos.

I do that when I'm scanning for real, but that's not necessary to be that precise for the beginner sites. And yeah, I'll be leaving camera shake off. I honestly didn't notice it until it was pointed out, but I know it can be rough for some viewers.

@@sbssmachine1 it's related, certainly. There are people who basically can't play 3d games because they're so susceptible to motion sickness. I used to get car sick as a kid (though I think that was at least partially related to heat, dust, and exhaust) but never from games, even when doing things that none of my friends could handle (in flight sims, especially).

I don't think so. I set it up while I was omega. As alpha I can't import, export, or scan. Not sure if I can restart extraction and actually get anything. If I had mats in the warehouse though, the factories would continue to process them.

Good question. I set it up during one of the brief periods when I was Omega. I'm not sure to what extent it keeps working when I'm Alpha.
