This song always gives me good chills because it helps me when I feel lost. Having lost my grandparents on both sides of the family, this song helps bring comfort to me. God bless you for posting this.

There is another kind of repentance besides metanoia using the verb metamelomai to indicate sorrow for sin, but it does not save. Judas had that kind of repentance & hanged himself.

I will qualify that by saying that in the OT it is a matter of trusting YHWH, since the Trinity was not clearly revealed in OT times. In the NT it is clarified & there is none other name under Heaven given among men whereby we MUST be saved than that of the Lord Jesus.

The Repentance which saves is "metanoia," which means A CHANGE OF MIND. Usually salvation is offered in the Bible for faith (trust, belief) in the Lord Jesus without any additions. (Believe on the LJC & u shall be saved & much etc.) The change of mind, then, which saves is from disbelief to belief in the Lord Jesus, from not depending on Him to depending on Him as Savior.

Let's stop telling people what is wrong, and start telling them what is right with God. How do you think people will come to God if they believe He looks down at them and their sin. He loves us all the same, and He does the work, not us, so stop it.

I'm thankful that it is God who will judge me and not anyone else.

And you know first hand that Amy doesn't love him? Wow! People always seem to find scripture and bend it to support what they believe. I hope that she never has to read what is written here.

Thanks for the great post - this song means so much to me having left the neurotic hypocrisy of Christian churches and found life again in the Holy Spirit and Scripture. I'll leave God to rip out the log in the self righteous eyes of those who dare to find the speck in their sister's - remembering that since the word of God does not lie, all the 'Christian' comments here will be judged under the rule of Gal 5:15, 20. May God forgive our unregenerate hateful hearts carried in His name.

I remembered that Calvary Chapel dropped this song from the intro of Chuck Smith.I wondered why at the time,because they replaced it with the same song.Nothing like gossip to fill you in on the details.Two things come to mind in this dialogue: 1. It is God's to judge. 2. He tells me I am responsible for certain things.To be honest,I am not sure deciding whether AmyGrant is an unrepentant adultress is one of those.It seems obvious that she did. And among Chirstians, this IS important for leaders
