I've heard about Salthaven, because I've followed Amber Marshall on social media for a long time. She actually volunteered at Salthaven when she lived in Ontario many years ago. Really enjoyed this episode Em! It was cool to learn more about what they do at Salthaven!

Hey there! Love your video and sharing the information you know about these cute creatures. Currently im hugely into squirrels/chipmunks. Maybe 3-4 weeks ago, my mom and i went to yard sales. And at one, i spotted a magnificent setup for the squirrels and birds. This area was maybe 15 minutes away from where i live or so. Anyways i was admiring her set up when she told me she has flying squirrels that come at night! I said to my mom, could you imagine if we had them? Id be feeding them 24/7! So... Yesterday was my birthday and i wanted to go to the park and try to hand fees the squirrels. I went, they ate, but not by my hand. I was able to toss them peanuts which thwy were eager to grab... So that didnt go as i hoped it to.... So anyways, once we got home i webt outside and was picking up lal the food containers and i heard a sound. Id been feeding raccoons and i thought it was them. I followed the sound....honestly... Kinda scared... It was almost like a repeated squeking. So i get to the tree where i hang feeders and that is where the sound was, i suddenly saw an animal on the tree, it was quick af and rain up and down the tree. I could not believe my eyes. It was indeed a flying squirrel and when i told my mom, there began to be others also! It was absolutely amazing! I just could not believe it!!!! I never imagined i would get to see flying squirrels outside of my house, on my birthday!!! It was the coolest! I used to be excited fot nightine to sleep.... Now im excited to see my new friends!!! Amazing! They seem to enjoy black oil sunflower seeds and peanuts 🥰 Honestly i never ever would have imagined i would get to see these lovely creatures. If you want to see them, perhaps you could put some seeds or peanuts out at night... I live in qeatern Pennsylvania. I honestly never fathomed that would happen. I so very badly want you to see them too. If you happen to have a dollar tree store near you, I go there and I buy (in the craft section) these clear globe shaped plastic terrarium.i put the food in there and hang it up on a nail. It's awesome They love it and it looks nice too. Highly recommend them. And Costco/Sam's/Rural King are the 3 best priced places to get unsalted peanuts. I didn't know this but I was actually hearing these animals before ever seeing them. I didn't know it was a flying squirrel which I was hearing. Don't give up. Now I want to help you achieve this.

Awesome stuff! I’ve got a trail cam and feeder set up in a city park. Wanted to be able to recognize their calls. I’ve got quite a bit of footage so far but haven’t paid enough attention to the audio. Thanks again!
