Greg and Wes battle it out for 2nd in their 270 sprint cars as a couple cautions come out in between. Right after the red flag, on the restart, Wes' shifter linkage broke and was stuck in a lower gear forcing him to pull off early. Greg went on to finish the race but the gopro that was on his car shut off in the middle of the race. If you see these two around your local track or at Blanket Hill...

Jesus, after all these years watching races these cars baffle me. Watching sprint cars at Eldora is one of more insane things I’ve seen in my life. These racers are a different breed.

@@dirt_racin_nation7908 yes I know that. I thought he could at least make it to A main. Just shows how difficult it is to switch cars right off the bat and do well like a Kyle Larson and maybe couple others. I thought maybe he could’ve been a guy to do the same, but I was wrong.

@@austinmcwilliams6337 look larson wasn't super great right off the bat, he was good but it took a few years in usac and so on that helped get him as good as him chris bell and rico abru have gotten pre covid years its not easy these have one of the highest power to weight ratios of any car in the world save for maybe a super car or drag car and maybe f1, and on slick rock hard dirt

I know it's a dumb question, but why don't I ever see anyone glancing to the right before completing a pass/ changing lines? Aren't you afraid someone may still be there?
@dustybeers Not a dumb question. I myself do not have any experience driving dirt cars in real life but I do go on Iracing occasionally and I think it just comes down to knowing if you have enough speed to make the pass and trusting that the other driver will hit the brakes or turn down the track when you come up into their lane if the passing car isn't gonna be fully clear. Lots of quick thinking. All that, along with using your ears, you'll most likely be able to hear the car that's next to you.

Good video. Been in your shoes so many times. Car feels good in one groove, then you get passed by 1,2 or even 3 then you change lanes and its even worse. Frustrating! Good to see ya get a couple at the end. Keep working at it!
