A Flock Of Seagulls - The Traveller (Live @ Brixton Academy 1983) HQ Audio
A Flock Of Seagulls performing live "The Traveller" at Brixton Academy, 1983.
Lyrics:
"I am the traveller
And I'm arriving
In a new place
With a new face
So don't stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop
Don't look behind you
You don't stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop
They'll never find you
I am the traveller
Across the ocean
I wanna get there
I wanna swim in your emotion
I won't stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop
Don't look behind you
You don't stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop
They'll never find you
I am the traveller
Across a million miles of open
I wanna get there
I wanna swim in your emotion
I won't stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop
Won't look behind you
They won't stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop
Until they find you
I am the traveller"

"Over The Border" - A Flock Of Seagulls - Listen (1983)

"Over The Border" a buried gem of an album track, which should have been released as a single. Lyrics: I'm tired of living in Asia, I'm tired of walking alone. I'm thinking of crossing the border. Whoa, to a new romance, New romance, New romance. I'm drifting away from the mainland, I'm drifting away from the shore. I'll try not to look back in anger, I've tried not to look back at all. Back at...
"Nightmares (12" Extended Mix)" - A Flock Of Seagulls - Listen (1983)
มุมมอง 19K10 ปีที่แล้ว
“Nightmares” is the second single from A Flock Of Seagulls released 1st April 1983 from their second full-length album "Listen" produced by Mike Howlett (Ex-Bassist for Gong). "Nightmares" can be described as dark, eerie and gloomy. Sounding fairly reminiscent of early Cure or Joy Division. This alternative 12" version mix features an extended bridge/solo and outro section. The lyrics were appa...
"Electrics" - A Flock Of Seagulls - Listen (1983)

It is unfortunate that A Flock Of Seagulls (AFOS) are only mostly remembered for Mike Score's unique hairstyle, than their music beyond "I Ran (So Far Away)" their US Top 10 hit single of 1982. However, the band can also be awarded the title of true pioneers. AFOS were one of the first New Wave bands from the United Kingdom to become successful in America, helping to pave the way for many other...
Song is dope!!!
If you look beyond the hairdo, this band was the real deal for those first three records. The singles are undeniably brilliant, but so are songs like: "Modern Love is Automatic", "Messages", "The Traveller", "Quicksand", "Heart of Steel", "Suicide Day", the list goes on. 'Reyno' was very much the heart of the band, and it's great to read the comments on videos showing so much love for him; he was a big inspiration to me when I was starting out and bought my first chorus pedal.
2024❤😢😂😊
There is no Flock of Seagulls without the guitar work of Paul Reynolds (sheer genius).
Can we just say Paul Reynolds is beyond awesome 💯💯💯💯💯 that guitar 🎸 tone - sound is haunted i love it🤘🤘🤘🤘💚🖤🖤🖤🖤💚💚💚
Paul Reynolds the sound of the 80s🎸🎸🎸🎸
The sound of the 80s glad i was a part of it to see it@ be @ the us festival 83 🤘🤘🤘
El guitarrista era genial 🎸
The US Festival in September of 1982 was the biggest bargain in music history. The US Festival in late May - early June 1983 was the second biggest. Of course, Woodstock was the mother of all festivals and was epic but I still think the US festivals eclipse it.
Batphink2655 Is that why they were up on that stage and sold so many records and you were not and didn't? I think Ali, Mike, Paul and Frank would all say... Flock you!
I had the opportunity to work both us festivals Union Stage hand 614 San Bernardino and met a lot of the band members and Mr We started from the ground up what you see we put up and yes it had to come down being part of something that big is something to look back on and yes a lot younger ❤
Cool story! Thanks for sharing!
I yearn for my mom…
It's a crying shame they broke up. They all pulled their own weight in this band. Mike Score is an excellent songwriter, Ali is a fantastic drummer, Frank on his bass is awesome and Paul on that guitar! Had they not fell victim to Mike's enormous ego, they might have been still around like Depeche and U2. What a complete shame. I miss them.
Paul said on VH1 Bands Reunited they could've been the biggest band in the world. Sadly it didn't work out that way thanks to Mike's ego and his bullying/control freak ways & putting his bandmates through mental hell.
FOS are Badass!!!
Video fails to focus in on Paul and his amazing guitar on this track. Listened to these guys around 82, great band.
Amazing track
Einmaliger Song♥
Paul Reynolds あなたのギターが大好きです
Their songs other than (I ran) are underrated. They were a really interesting band
The art of the deep cut. I have a live version of this somewhere.
How is this so good 💯
This is way better than The Cure and Joy Division put together!!! Amazing!!!
AJ17. Good to know you are watching.
Man that guitar sound of Paul it's so awesome & haunting still gives me goosebumps still today when I saw it back then& now I was 16 who saw them # the Us festival 83 🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸
Totally agree about his guitar sound unique
@@ianhawdon3680 Agreed such a unique tone and style. No one played like Reno.
I have watched many You Tube videos on AFOS, the one thing that have in common is Paul Reynolds guitar sound, it is distinctive as it is unique and it was (in my humble opinion) what bound and drove the songs along ! Am I wrong ?
Totally not wrong. I could easily pick his guitar sound out of a lineup every time. Nobody plays like Reno. 💖
My favorite A Flock of Seagulls song ................ greetings of Perú ...
All these years still fantastic so good to hear makes me feel. Alive
Mike always sounded pretty bad singing live, not polished like on record. Ali was a terrible drummer
God! They sound so good live!
Saw the current FOS in Disney Florida still sounded this good without the original members 👍
Excellent
Why did Paul Reynolds leave?
Health reasons. Paul was a lot younger than the rest of the band (he was 17 when he joined the band.... was 20 in this clip... and the rest of the guys were in their mid-late 20s) . The mix of fame and the pressure of constantly touring got to him, and he was drinking a lot to try to cope with it all. Eventually it started affecting his role in the band, and he got to the point where he finally had enough and quit because he was pretty much burned out... and ended up having a nervous breakdown from all the stress from everything. He said in the VH1 "Bands Reunited" episode in 2004 that leaving the band was probably one of the best things that had happened to him, because if he had carried on like that, he probably wouldn't be here now.
This song is amazing and I love the picture with all 4 of them, it feels like they're looking at you
Well, all of them except for Paul LOL!
@@AJ17_ That's true lol, I still think that Nightmares is one of their other greatest songs
Way ahead of their time. This song doesn’t get the credit it deserves.
A FLOCK OF SEAGULLS!!! FOR EVER!!!
Paul is sooooooo KOOOOOOL!!!!!!!
Had to come back for more. This really cooks!!!!!!💫💫💫💫
What a performance! First time I've ever seen this. Paul Reynolds is a fuckin guitar hurricane!!!!!!🌀🌀🌀🌟🌟
There must be a parallel dimension in which Paul Reynolds still rocks so heavenly and looks ridicously hot. I want to go there when I doe like in the San Junipero episode of Black Mirror
I am still in love them now! Saw Score in Houston Arena Theatre last month! The line up rocked!
excellent song-writers-singer-musicians=well done =Trinity bless everyone with good safe healthy days
They had a whole different vibe back then, I would have sold my soul to the devil to see one of their concerts
❤️Great band, best guitar player 👌Reynolds
That guitar is killer. AWESOME!
Fucking rad
Mike & Paul should have a guitar battle
Paul would win every time. 😂
Esta banda es una de las mejores en su estilo ,los amo
Aria Pro II ZZ Deluxe Blueburst. One sweet sweet axe.
This will be apart of my town, song
Cool... Never heard this song and never saw Mike Score play guitar. This is awesome !!!
It's on their first album.
@@AJ17_ Haha... I know that now. I posted this a year ago and have since listened to their whole catalog. A very underrated band. They were more than just "I Ran".
@@ghoppr71 Completely agree. They should have been much bigger than they were.
Scouser entertaining the world in 1983.
