First sail ever
มุมมอง 37ปีที่แล้ว
We sailed from Hartlepool down the coast to Lowestoft then across to Amsterdam. then back after a nice weekend chill time. after that I was booked on sailing.
Today's job is to clean the stainless steel window frames.

Using a grinder on low speed and poly abrasive wheels made this job much easier than a sander.

Reverse thread!! Thanks.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Aye, captain 🎉
Woohoo!!
Wow just very cool
This is what happens when boredom kicks in, sat at a service station waiting for the stopped traffic to start moving again
Planning to new all new gelcoat?
It's a steel boat. I'll be using polyurethane paint on the deck and epoxy on the hull
This looks so fun! Thanks for stopping by my channel earlier too!
Been watching Jaimies channel for quite some time and always wondered how you got on, then found your channel which I'll be binge watching to catch up.
How's the refit going, 2 years in?
I had the bilges shot blasted which created a massive amount of cleaning, then painted with two pack coaltar epoxy. Removed all the treadgrip from the deck, cut the Dorado boxes off to weld up a couple of holes and started removing the windows and made a couple ready to go back in. Covid lockdown stopped play and a few other life things got in the way. Full on work will start again this coming spring and hoping to get in the water before summer. Till then all is paused and I'm working long shifts to build up funds for boaty bits. Lithium batteries being one of them. Following your channel for hints and tips x
@@Sailingon My house renos ground to a halt when covid hit as well. Starting them back up in the new year, trying to get it done so I can switch over to the boat refit. Fingers crossed you get in the water before me! Have you thought of restarting your videos in the spring?
@@TheDigitalMermaid I'm going to try and do more videos, I get stuck in and forget about filming which doesn't help. Eek just seen the time it's 12:30 and I'm up at 7 for work. Long one tomorrow 8am till 11 pm eek on the plus side takeout on the company, Thinking Chinese will be nice.
Looks like great fun. Big salute from Slovenia, Pilot Robert
Thank you, pleasure to receive the famous salute your videos make us smile.
The impeller comes out easily using pliers.
I didn't have any that fit in the gap. I now have an extractor which works really well.
Lidl?😂😂😂
Very nice - good luck , looking for more videos
Magic :) I don't see any limit switches though. Also, I've heard that belts suck if the carriage is facing any resistance when traveling - e.g. has a cutting bit on it - precision is lost. Guess it's less of a concern for wing cutting.
They do. This is for cutting foam and the hot wire doesn't touch the foam. This cutter will be just two axis for fuselages. Will also run a lot slower than in the video.
Very nice
Very nice 👌
Nice! Would love to know how you put it together and what the wings are for :)
This is just a test, I cut some RG15 wings last night for a Lidl. The linear bearings, screws, motors and belts are all from eBay. The design is from thingiverse but modded a little. I'm going to make all new parts on my CNC router to replace the printed parts and improve the design. Should have something in a week or two and I'll video it all.
that's a nice little glider, isn't it? i didn't do a very beautiful job converting mine :)
Although this take is rather clumsy ( picking the right tools, out, things happen outside camera scope ,dropping things ), it still helped me taking apart my waterpump , to find that the bearings had complety fallen apart and the shaft is a bit damaged. >> time for a new pump !
Bravo very good
Ok, who was controlling the camera? I see that it was panning down :D .
It was slowly falling over. That's why it ended there 😁🤪
@@Sailingon I'm not convinced :D
I could do with a camera girl if you want the job 😉
@@Sailingon hmmmm.... I may have one or two cameras ;-) . Is the world ready to see you in 4K though? 🤗
p.s. You may want to think about setting u a camera to record some timelapse work.
Very nice video
Hopefully they will get better. This weekend I'll be removing all the deck fittings and windows to do repairs to the corrosion. Then prep for painting and replace everything. It's going to be next summer before I get back in the water.
Thanks for the reminder about that left hand thread. Probably will get it done in half the time, with your kind help.
It stumped me for a while, also the cheap impact driver although not great ,it did help. Now I have a bit more knowledge I'd be more careful putting something in the slot. I put a but on it and had to use a file to get the new impeller on.
@@Sailingon second that - if you twist hard enough the slot will open up and the shaft will be ruined.
Great video ! Greetings from your new amigo in Marbella.
Hi, my first comment 😁. These little models fly really well for a kids toy
Looks like a bit of a adventure a good cleen and won't seem like so much work
That looked lively!
I need to check my channel more often, I don't get notified when someone comments. It was like this all day and got a little stronger at night. Saw bioluminescence for my first time, was amazing.
Hi Sam, I'm originally from Essex and the bird sounds take straight back to my childhood! :-)
If you have a bad day, the sound of the birds make everything better 😊
You've got a real mission there, what model is she? How old?
It's the same hull as a Bruce Roberts spray 38, all the work that needs doing is within my abilities. I'll be replacing the through hulls, seacocks and sturn tube dripless seal with a stuffing box. Antifouling and put her in the canal. A really good clean out then livaboard and work. New rigging, new head sail and painting. It's going to be hard but worth it.
@@Sailingon excellent, I'll stay tuned
Sweet views and sweet bird songs AND no doubt right in suburbia where the majority have no idea that it is all right there!
wow nice video! I sub you and liked your video. Hope you sub me back to keep in touch and support each other! Let me know after you sub! :)Thanks! ❤️❤️
