If you don’t mind, could you give me the brand name and model of the cots y’all used in this video? I would like to try this also what size are those air mattresses just regular twin or twin XL. I purchased a 26 inch full-size mattress for the inside of our hub tent and I think that the two cuts would be easier to put up and down and give us some storage underneath this is such a great idea.❤
@@slickmouf879 the cots are by Coleman (Coleman 765353 Trailhead II... www.amazon.com/dp/B003696236?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). The mattresses are from Walmart and they are just twin. We have found this is the most comfortable set up for us.
@ do the twin air mattresses hang off at all and do they move around? Does the bar in the middle bother y’all?
@ there is no bar in the middle of each cot. Of course we do have the edges of each cot where they meet in the middle, but because our king fitted sheet is on top of the air mattresses, they keep the mattresses butted up against each other. Also, I put yoga mats on the cot before laying the air mattress on top. They not only help keep the mattresses slide around, but they also keep the air mattress from getting cold. The mattresses are slightly wider than the cots, but not enough to make a difference.
@@seniorcamperhikes6078 yeah that’s what I was talking about if you and your husband are laying beside each other there’s a bar in between you
So pretty!! Did you camp near by? If so where? We are looking to go camp somewhere where there are hiking trails near by the camp ground for thanks giving week..
@@jackieonthego long story, but we are renovating our 122 year-old home on the Kanawha River. While we are renovating we are camping in our backyard 😂😂. But I do know of a campground nearby that is right on the river (New River Campground on Rt 60). Also, Hawks Nest State Park has camping, it’s a beautiful park, and has lots of great hiking trails.
Looks amazing! Love the painted house and the “kitchen”! Rest up now. You’ve earned a break.
It was brutally hot that week, wasn’t it?
@@peterbeyak8457 so hot! We tried to stay in the shade but I needed to be in the open with all that spray paint.
I am on vacation in Sevierville been here a week. We are enjoying the Great Smokey Mountains. I really really enjoyed watching this video. I have to say #WELLDONE.
Thank you so much!
If possible please let me know which piano version of “ Country Roads” you used here, artists name? For some reason it just sounds less rushed, and Perfect 😌 it’s a long shot but who knows you might see this, remember? Thanks
Absolutely-I love this arrangement! It is “Take me Home, Country Roads” by William Joseph. The version I used is a single and I purchased it on Apple Music.
Thanks for your reply I believe I found it too. 👍
So beautiful 😊
I love this place ❤
What month did you all go? Did you run into any bugs?
We went in January. No bugs, but the raccoons were pesky! We kept food in the car, but while I was cooking chili they boldly came out to our campsite.
gorgeous country up there!!
You are a trooper. Happy for you.👍 I'm similar age.
Thanks! I can’t wait to get back out there!
Is this your house? Are you moving?
I do own it, but it was my father’s house. However, my husband and I are renovating my grandmother’s 120+ year-old house that’s next door and we plan to move there in a year or two.
@@seniorcamperhikes6078 oh gosh I hope you do videos on the 120 year old house!! I love old houses they have such character!
@@jackieonthego are you on Tik Toc? I have a series of videos of our progress so far (which isn’t much). We have had to divert our attention to my dad’s house. I’m Seniorcamper
@@seniorcamperhikes6078 yes I’m on TikTok
Nyce what size is your tent? Looks like it was almost to big for the site. We are planning a trip there for tent camping soon but will have to purchase a new tent, I KNOW OURS IS TO LARGE FOR THOSE SITES.
It is a 12-man cabin tent. It fit fine on the pad, no problem. I think it measures 12 x 14😊
Gorgeous video! Thanks for sharing your video and audio skills are impressive. You captured the love of the wilderness that so many of us have and love to share with others.
Thank you!
Really love that song.
Just ran across your channel, very inspiring, I love tent camping and I have to say y’all got it going on. Excellent set up. Just subscribed and I will start binge watching your other vids.
Awww-thank you! We love adventures of all kinds!
A great video! No others in the shelter with you? I admire your bravery !
No others with me and that’s exactly how I like it! I’m so tired by the end of the day all I want to do is eat and go to bed. I’m not much of a chit-chatter. 😊
Wow! What an adventure! And what gorgeous views from the mountain tops 😮. Did you see any other critters other than the charging Saint Bernard?
Can you believe that yet again Al was the only one who saw any wildlife? And it was a doe and her fawn. That’s it!
Love the creek with the narrow bridge. The rain makes it messy on the trails but so beautiful and peaceful.
It was fun meeting you today at Woody Gap. You’re doing a great job!
Is this Laura? If so, I’m so glad you found me on You Tube! I really enjoyed meeting you today too!
It is! Just call if you need anything!
Wow Al, you do so much! And have a sense of humor! I’m sure your wife appreciates all you do! Happy hiking and car driving/ hiking!😂
Beautiful
❤❤❤ Nice!
Nice setup!
Thanks!
I have camp there...love the Mountain Bridge Wilderness!
It really was beautiful! Thanks for watching!
Good for you listening to your gut. I also deal with a body full of arthritis. It’s great your getting out there!
Thanks! I’m excited that I’ll be out there again in about a week!
Nice video. what site number is this?
#191. Great site!
I'm so excited for you!😊
Really nice walkways. I’m in hartsville a good bit and never knew that was there. I didn’t however know about yogis bear chicken
The gardens is a very interesting place, just because of the history. The home was an old plantation, built by the Hart family in 1830. It was then owned by the Coker family until 1930. I can’t imagine living right over that swamp with no air conditioning. The mosquitoes!
*_The natural landscape is highly recommended for trail running or hiking activities, yes, senior lady...?, and I also like your videos, you are great and continue to be adventurous. greetings from Indonesia_* 👍
Nice! Are you planning to complete the Appalachian Trail, doing it in sections each season?
That’s the plan! I am going to do GA first, but I may skip around based on weather and logistics.
_Really cool and interesting hiking adventure footage with incredible video captures and enhanced by peaceful music, the stunning beauty of wonderful Harbiston State Forest scenery is clearly shown and well narrated. Great to be able to watched it, thank you so much for always sharing wonderful inspiration._
Thanks for watching!
Nice! Relive is pretty cool
Yeah, except somehow I made it turn off before the end of my hike! 😂😂
*_For me, you are very extraordinary..., you still like to do hobbies, adventure, even alone again, you are great... I like and I support you, nice to meet me Rudy Outdoor Tutorial from Indonesia_*
You know I found our gut feelings are usually the most accurate ones to listen to… the guy usually doesn’t let up.. it’s like a pesky fly that keeps bothering you..I’m glad you listened to your gut was telling you!! Yes we had a ton of rain that weekend and I can’t imagine hiking in those conditions especially just starting out.. But hey! You started!! And the parts you did was no easy walk in the park!!! Great job! I can’t wait to see more videos in June!!
Oh wow! So many steps! I love your video.. it shows so much more of the trail leading to the stairs.. I’ve never seen that part before. But you did it!!
Oh gosh! I am just seeing this! And I see other ones! I’m going to go watch now! I saw you commented on my foothills hike post😀 ok I’m going to go watch your other posts…
Thank you for sharing your hike. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful scenery and I look forward to your continued journey another time.
Thanks for watching. Planning to try again in June.
Some never even get on the trail so great job getting out there and giving it a try!
Thanks! I’ll be back.
I’m enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work! Jon’s Dad TH-cam.com/@JonsDadHikes
This hike made me cry Feline💞. A woman of determination, is a woman of power. And you have the best support system anyone could ask for. Much love to you and Al. Love you much Feline and congrats my friend💖🙏🏾
You’re sharing history, while making history. I love it. Love you Feline💖
I'm 56 and have been section hiking. I fell a year ago and my back is finally feeling better and am doing another section next week. I hope you make it too!
Hope I get to meet you out there!
Wow Feline. You’re are all set my friend. Looking forward to this journey watch with you💖
Your videos always transport me to another world, keep up the incredible work.
Thanks for watching!
Amazing shots, looks like everyone had a lovely time. I haven’t been since I was a kid so thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Look at you smashing that pickle ball! Mandy and I cycled the Peak to polmeria that weekend.
Aww-we were there on Sunday and I was telling Al that passage would be so much more fun to ride bikes because it’s so flat!
@@seniorcamperhikes6078 any time you wanna bike it let us know. It is fairly flat and scenic
@@russellturpin1259 oooo-I just might take you up on that!
Nice! Amazing views and cozy.
Beautiful site! We are going camping to Dreher Island SP in April and that looks just like the site we booked. Which site is this?
It’s number 4 and it was a fantastic site!
@seniorcamperhikes6078 That's why it looked familiar. That's the spot that we have! I am so glad to hear that it was a fantastic site! That was going to be a question that I asked. If there's any information that you can share, it would be great. Thanks 😊!
@@livinglifejill3924 you will love it-just across the street from the bath house and if your tent will fit crossways on the pad, you’ll have a beautiful view of the lake.
@seniorcamperhikes6078 Ohhh, I can't wait! Just a couple of questions for you: Is it OK to cook down at the picnic table, or is that area at a slope? And also is there any sloped areas at that site? I noticed that you were cooking up by your tent?! When you say to put our tent cross wise , is that how your tent was?
@@livinglifejill3924 yes, you can cook at the picnic table. We cooked up by the tent because it helped to block the wind. We usually set up a kitchen canopy, but again, the wind! The whole site is on a slope, but the tent pad is very level. Our tent was long-ways on the pad. With our porch, our tent was too long to sit facing the lake.
Love your tent set up!
Thanks! We love it too. Going camping this weekend!
