This episode proved that when it came right down to it, Barney had both guts & backbone, and more than that, courage...m
watching this now, i feel Andy should have waited until the trucks had left. it stole the moment from Barney--it would have made him wonder if the farmers had seen Andy and backed down.

What was this show called ?
Ford Mo Co furnished the cars for the show, I can always tell what year it by the Squad Car, the one in this clip is a 1962 Ford Galaxie which means its was filmed between Sept of 61 and Sept 62, the new models became available in Sept in those years.
They intimidated him, while deliberately disobeying him at the same time.
And yet he didn't back down
maybe the police nowadays need to watch this and there might not be as many rotten apples in the police force
Maybe YOU need to quit listening to the media
@@eq1373 that's almost impossible when everyone is almost like a walking news caster for the media these days
Still true today poor vs rich !!

Great posting
I shared. I liked. I love this scene.
Thank you for airing this!
She was one tough lady with that whip
Barney really had to step up here, big step for him.
I was very close to the tornado and the hail was very very crazy. Glad it didn’t break car windows. I was sitting in my car when this was going on
That's a pretty damn crisp scene.
That’s a real man; he who understands his limitations but still stands for the truth.
I love Barney Fife the character. He would be so much fun to be around if he was a real person.
No he won’t. He can be aggravating too
I truly believe Barney Fife was the greatest character ever created for a television show. And they couldn't have found anyone better to pull it off than Don Knotts. Sheer genius!
It was scary
Best show on TV ever!!!! I watch it everyday, it is so very soothing.. It teach's life lesson's , so we'll..... Make more of these KIND'S of show's, that have ❤️❤️❤️!!!!!!! Bring back comedy...🥀🥀🥀🥀....
Brilliant!
Was this thundersnow? It looks like a thunderstorm....
Hi jeffie
I remember this from my childhood, 2022
Therein lies the difference between a brave man and a coward. Brave men still get scared, but they don't allow their fears to control them.
Big bullies,but Barney didn't back down.Way to go Barn.👏👏👏
Barney standing up for what is good and right - Amen!
Go Barney!!
Barney was the backbone of this series.Just my pinion'.🗽👍
Greatest show in television history while Don Knotts was on the show. The finest character performance ever captured on a television screen. It was the genius of Knotts, combined with the greatest child actor ever in Ron Howard, that elevated this show to iconic status. A brilliant cast of characters, from Otis the town drunk, Aunt Bea and the lovable barber, Floyd Lawson.
GSOAT!
Wasn't Jody Foster the greatest child actor? Actually, acting is so easy even children can do it, obviously.
I can't stand Fife. He's too loud and wound too tight.
Go watch HSN then.
HE WAS JUST PORTRAYING A CHARACTER,AND HE WAS PERFECT.
It was a comedy. Lighten up.
Nobody could stand him, that's what made him perfect as a cop. He was inept, arrogant, a dullard, loudmouth, completely unaware of his surroundings, and oblivious to how people received him... in other words, the stereotypical cop. His character was accurately and perfectly cast.
Whoa. Never realized this show had scenes like this.

Your wrong, the badge is a symbol for the cops , and they are a gang off very well paid thug's.
En su idioma original es mejor.

Por favor en castellano
The Charlottesville event was definitely a set up and the mayor and the city council are so corrupt.
The fascist, Neo-Nazis are on the march. They feel emboldened having one of their own squatting in the White House.
A police officer's badge is NOT a gang symbol. I think you need to look up the legal definition of "gang." Barney was enforcing a rule that the overwhelming majority of society feels should exist. And rules exist for order. Without rules, there is chaos.
Just don't forget that Andy cared about the people in his town
@@frankhenry587 why would I forget?
@@suzycreamcheesez4371 you are making the point that it is the rule of law that keeps society functioning.....rules are only as good as the mercy behind them
