Echo Case #2 | Mitral Annular Disjunction
www.cardiacphysiology.com/
This case is a classic example of mitral annular disjunction with bileaflet prolapse. Note the key features of 'curling' at the posterior annulus in the parasternal long axis view, and the visible separation between the posterior annulus and the left ventricular myocardium.

Be cautious with bbl or arni
Assess arrthymia risk with MRI if fibrosis
truly helpful and an amazing simplification of topics, thank you!!
Thank you very much.
Simple and good informative video
This video is genuinely better that the physic one from BSC. please continue with these educational video such as systolic function, strain etc
Thank you! Great case !
thank you very much for the case.
Many thanks Alistair! Best wishes, Amanda
Hi, when trying to access the website it asks for a username and password.
Amazing video. You have broken down the concepts very effectively.
Hi there, just a quick correction. The Propagation Velocity increases as the tissue's stiffness increases and decreases as the density increases. "In reality, the speed of sound is affected by the density and elasticity of the medium through which it is travelling and these factors are not constant for human tissues. The propagation speed of sound is higher in tissues with increased stiffness and reduced density." - Radiopedia
Hi Dave, thanks for your comment. I believe radiopedia might have a typo and that they mean that propogation velocity increases with stiffness and density. I'll pursue further references and get back to you as soon as possible
Apologies in my delayed response to this. Propagation velocity does increase with stiffness and decrease with density - apologies for the error. I will aim to update the video with that correction and additional information as soon as possible
This video is excellent. Have you made any others for BSE examinations?
Thanks Dave for your kind comment! No but I'm keen to. What sort of topics do you think would be most appreciated?
Great method ! Rapid and valid 👍
very helpful thank you!
This video is wonderful 👍
