I remember hearing this at launch, it really confused me that the song and lyrics didn't match. It felt as if this version was a lie and I needed to finish the chapter to unlock the true version (which played correctly at the end of the chapter).

i think this version has a bit of a deeper meaning to it. the lyrics go "who will light my fire" as opposed to the final version's "you can relight my fire". a bit later, the lyrics say "round and round the pyre". a pyre is a structure made of wood, for the purpose of burning a corpse at funerals that celebrate death in that way. Tor is asking for forgiveness before it's too late, for he is in the twilight of his years. without it, he wonders who will pay respects to him when he is dead and gone. who will light his fire?

Excuse me, can I ask for the lyrics of this version of the song? Unfortunately, I don't know English well enough to copy the text by ear. I really want to compare it with the final version.

I feel like the only problem with either of the versions of this song is that listening to them basically means saga has to wait at the overlap entrance. It detracts from the story because at this point saga is rushing to save Tor, so stopping to fully listen to the song feels sorta out of character. If the song continues to play like Yöton Yo did in the overlap at coffee world, I feel as if it would allow saga to hwar at least bits of the song

My theory: this version is about Alan while the other changed to fit saga. If you listen to this one, its Alan speaking to Alice but the other is Thor Saga. Both fit their respective versions very well

This game hits me hard because this actually happened to me. I failed my wife and I was too focused on my education. She committed suicide.

This definitely seems more like it'd be the version for Freya rather than the full version, which ended up being for Saga. The "the story's harbouring a liar, but you're the Seer, can break the curse" definitely seems to only be relevant to Saga, as does the "you got away, which I know was good and right" for Freya.

Originally it showed up in the Mental Palace and nowhere else. Did it get patched out? It feels like one version of the lyrics is aimed at Saga and the other at Freya..

I'll assume that this version was supposed to be played in the mission at the hotel, when Alan handed the record for the Saga in the bathroom and we heard the beginning of this song

so it seems the two major changes to lyrics was "The story's harboring a liar but your the seer you can break the curse" was "round and round the pyre my glory my curse" and "dive throught the dark to find the light on the other side you will find him their the peice your missing the man i drove away" was "you got away (?) i can say the same for i still run in the night"
