Excellent video. I'm also doing this race and would like to record some video as a memento. I don't have a support crew so battery power is an issue. I've been lent a Go Pro Hero 11 Mini but the battery doesn't last long. Is there any kit or advice you'd recommend? This would be much appreciated. Many thanks Gavin
Hi Gavin! Since your drop bag will be traveling with you around the course you can either put batteries in that bag and/or you put a charger in the bag and charge the batteries while you eat, sleep, etc at the life bases.

Congrats and thank you for the nice content here. How do you travel to the start point from Umag? That bus is organised by the event?
Yes! A bus takes you to the start. The bus leaves at the same place where you have to pick up your race bib. I believe you have to book the bus ride with the registration for the race.

Is registration at the finish the day before? Do they then bus you to the start
Yes…Registration the day before the race and then shuttle busses leaving from the same place the day of the race

Hi Hannes! Thank you for your kind words. To answer your question, yes there is a shuttle which takes you to Buzet. Everything well organized. Busses leave from the sports hall where you will also find registration and expo. Warm regards, Maxim

Not really. But I would think there’s a few videos on that on TH-cam :) as long as you have the right length it should come naturally after a while
Congratulations on the finish - great video. I did the Blue 110k course and really enjoyed the race - first time doing a race in Croatia and the scenery and support was fantastic. Was lucky enough to miss the thunderstorms as well!

Great video, congratulations for finishing it! That sunset you recorded on the first night was pretty epic! I also finished 110k course. One of my favorite races in the region.
It was a great race indeed. Except for the rain and snow during the first night we were super lucky with the weather too.

Great video and well done on the finish! Loved how you showcased the views and terrain! I am debating signing up now thanks to your video!!! 1 question, is there a drop bag facility for halfway? Or did you carry all your kit which you put on when it got cold? Thank you
Actually there were three drop bags which is more than you would find usually. That way you don’t have too carry too much stuff around. I had a pair of shoes, socks, nutrition and warm gear in each bag. Also power banks to recharge the watch. KAT is really well organized race. I hope it stays that way now that it is part of the UTMB series. Either way…go for it. The course is awesome 🤩

Thanks for the video - really inspiring. Considering signing up for this race for 2023. Could I ask, are there many points along the course where someone who is not great with exposed heights might struggle? The bridge would be okay for me, but I may get vertigo on narrow ridges with steep drops either side, or very narrow trails with a sheer drop to one side. I didn't see anything like that on your film, but I guess you may not have your go-pro out in those moments! Thanks for any reply.
The bridge is the worst. Other than that there are no steep drops or anything. Even though I didn’t see everything at night it didn’t feel like there were any tight spots. Can only recommend the race. Magnificent views and well organized.
