biografi Danang A. Parabowo:
Born in Bantul, Jogjakarta in December 1984. He graduated his elementary school in 1997 from a local school in Mainz, Germany and SD Negeri 71 Bengkulu in 1999 and finally completed his primary education from SMP Negeri 1 Bengkulu in 2001 and SMA Negeri 5 Bengkulu in 2004. He completed a 1-year student exchange program funded by JASSO from the Department of Applied Bio-Organic Chemistry, Utsunomiya University, Japan from 2007-2008.
Two years later, in 2010, he graduated his bachelor degree (S.Pi) from Department of Marine Science and Technology, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and married Riski Kurnia Ariyanti. He completed his Master course and obtained Master of Science (M.Sc.) in August 2012 from University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan with the aid from Monbukagakusho Scholarship (MEXT). Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D in the field of Phycology / Algae with the emphasis on the taxonomy and phylogeny of marine and benthic dinoflagellates, at the same university starting from October 2012.
Together with local muslim community in Okinawa, he also participates in promoting Islamic values, teachings and activities to the local society and actively supports the establishment of the Okinawa Masjid project, which was then built in 2013 and named as Okinawa Masjid Rahmatalill`Alameen.
During his undergraduate study in IPB (2004-2009) he joined campus Islamic activities under Lembaga Dakwah Kampus (LDK) DKM Al Hurriyah (Masjid of IPB Dramaga), scientific competitions and worked as assistant trainer for human resource development in PT ABCo Sugesti Motivatindo where he was then known for his nickname: “PEMBUAT JEJAK”. In 2007, he was awarded as the 1st winner of Indonesia’s best student award (Mahasiswa Berprestasi Nasional) from the Ministry of National Education. In 2009, he participated as one of the Indonesian delegates for the Bayer Ecominds Youth Forum in New Zealand. Through his achievements, the IPB student senate (BEM KM IPB) awarded him as one of the most inspiring figure of 2009.
He also has strong enthusiasm in the field of photography, life sciences, history, culture, humanity, and environmental issues. He loves practicing martial arts between his main activities as a student and researcher, like Taekwondo and Karate which he obtained a black belt of 1st DAN (shodan) in traditional Shotokan Karate under INKAI and his 2nd DAN (niidan) in Okinawan Karate of the Shorin-ryu style under Shorinkai which is managed by hanshi Kakinohana Keishun (9th DAN/kuudan).
