AI may replace dentist w Dr Kyle Dumpert
Introduction
Imagine a world where your dentist is a robot. No, not a HAL 9000-style takeover, but a friendly, AI-powered assistant that can diagnose cavities, clean your teeth, and even recommend the best toothpaste for your specific needs. Welcome to the future of dentistry, where artificial intelligence is making waves.
Training AI: A Dental Masterclass
You might be wondering, "How does AI learn to be a dentist?" Well, it's not just by watching a few episodes of "Scrubs." Dentists are playing a crucial role in training these AI systems. They're feeding them vast amounts of data, from X-rays and patient records to dental school textbooks. It's like giving an AI a crash course in dental anatomy, pathology, and patient care.
AI vs. Dentist: A Friendly Matchup
Now, before you start worrying about your dentist losing their job, let's clarify: AI isn't here to replace dentists. It's here to assist them. Think of it as a super-powered dental assistant. AI can help with tasks like identifying early signs of disease, suggesting treatment plans, and even providing patient education. It's a win-win situation for both dentists and patients.
AI as a Marketing Maestro
AI is also making its mark in the dental marketing world. It can analyze patient data to understand their preferences and needs. This information can be used to create targeted marketing campaigns, from personalized email newsletters to social media ads. It's like having a dental marketing guru on your team.
AI and Dental Insurance: A Match Made in Heaven
Dental insurance companies are also getting in on the AI action. AI can help them assess claims faster, detect fraud, and even predict future dental needs. This means more efficient claims processing and better overall dental care for patients.
Conclusion
AI is revolutionizing the world of dentistry, from diagnosing cavities to marketing dental services. As technology continues to advance, we can expect even more innovative applications of AI in this field. So, the next time you sit in the dentist's chair, keep in mind that AI might be behind the scenes, helping to ensure a healthier smile.

Hi, I hope you’re well. I have researched your TH-cam channel {Tooth be told podcast}. Your content is excellent but I have found many reasons why your TH-cam channel is not growing appropriately and why your Subscribers, Views, Likes, and Comments are not increasing. Your video’s SEO score is very low, proper search engine optimization (SEO) can significantly impact ranking. Your channel and videos are not optimized for relevant keywords, they may not appear in search results or suggested videos. Also, your video is not being correctly promoted on other social media. If you can solve those problems correctly you will get lots of organic traffic and engagement day by day on your TH-cam channel. Let's discuss how to grow your TH-cam channel via E-mail or Zoom Meeting. Kind Regards, Riad Ahmed Faysal. Feel free to contact me: Email: hello.riad37@gmail.com WhatsApp/Telegram: +8801576553705

Another great episode! Pediatric dentistry procedures are easier than general dentistry. However, if it was that easy to have an anesthesiologist everyone including the pediatric dentists would do that too. There two big issues: 1. Parent acceptance for GA and 2. Affordability of GA. Insurance typically do not pay for GA and a lot of parents are even against using Nitrous because of safety issues leave alone GA. That’s where the behavior management skills comes into play. That’s also where atraumatic restorative practices like hall crowns and sdf comes into play. Another factor that the training helps is understanding the complexity of medical issues which are highly relevant to dentistry. The last is the understanding of the growth and development and how the training helps provide that service to patients. Sometimes life changing. I get the point, but I myself wish it was that easy 😢

I think he’s using his dental experience to transition into context creation and while I don’t hate it. I completely agree that he doesn’t seem like he’s been in the thick or it as a dental professional. It would have been better titled “ What your first year in dentistry might look like. I call this click bait, views are great for the younger generation. He will easily pay off his loans with his sponsored videos but this is a great example of why you have to be mindful of who you get information from. His experience is not going to be as wide a someone that’s been in the industry for 20. That’s why your reactions to this holds weight. Nice job guys!

Dentistry as a whole isn't a race to the bottom. I believe you are conflating your anecdotal experiences, while simultaneously confirming them with what you see in your current market. There are definitely markets that are in juxtaposition with what you have asserted. I'm sure with a little digging through some data you can find dentists who understand that discerning clients don't care much for the "Walmart" experience, and instead are looking for educated, evidence-based, boutique-like practices that fulfill their specific needs. Check out Manhattan, Chicago, DC, NOVA. Practicing dentistry at the highest levels requires dentists who aspire to excellence. There is no substitute for a dentist who loves to practice. Patience can see it. Driving bodies through the door with "free" promotions doesn't necessarily lead to long-term retention and positive patient experiences. Existing structures and processes must be already in place to provide those satisfying experiences for patients before one walks through the door. #freevalue

Agree with most points except, the devastation of COVID far outweighs the (monetary) benefits for certain individuals and businesses. I was hoping you would discuss the burn out and resignation of dentists as well. I left clinical dentistry in September 2022 and I’m happier than I’ve ever been. Wanted to do it for years and COVID increased my sense of urgency to create peace in my professional life.

Dr.Morris this was fantastic, rolled with the punches. Owning a business and or multiple means being able to accept failures and using them as stepping stones to success rather than walls. That’s what you are doing, not settling.
