Barnyard after dragging with the tractor
มุมมอง 253 ปีที่แล้ว
This video shows what the barnyard looks like after 2 hours of using the tractor and the drag implement to go over it and pull out dead tall grass, prickers, and other unwelcome volunteers along with more.bricks, wood, wire, pieces of metal, trash, - you name it. It was full of junk. There is lots more to do. More to pick up as well. Part of the process of reclaiming what was neglected by others.
Reclaiming the barnyard, before step 2
มุมมอง 93 ปีที่แล้ว
The barnyard was overgrown and a mess. Several greenhouses used to be here but were taken away or fell apart. We are working to clean it up and reclaim the land. We spent 2 days picking up trash, old wood, bricks, cinder blocks, parts of this and that. Lots of metal too. It was neglected and now we get to get back what someone else let fall into ruin.

    • @jjsmachine
      @jjsmachine ปีที่แล้ว

      Tires and parts all require some research and cross reference sleuthing. Tires, filters and belts/hoses being the easiest. Parts are hard. I have found some entire tractors that I have tried to buy for parts unsuccessfully. Even though they were rusting hunks, owners felt they were worth more because they could be restored. So still searching. Good luck.

    In early 1986 I took a job at the local high school. I mowed 28 acres with this model tractor for 11 years. The fellow who did the lawns with it from brand new ran it over a hill and into a pile of cinder blocks while mowing and tore the belly mower up pretty bad. That was the mess I inherited. After 4 years we replaced the belly mower with a 4 ft finish cut mower on the rear. I mowed with it in the summer and pushed snow with it all winter. Oh the hours I spent on that tractor. I did suffer some permanent hearing loss because the engine is quite metallic sounding. In tall grass the exhaust pipe points forward so it would belch smoke back in my face and turn my skin black. I ran it out of fuel out in the field one time on an slight uphill slant and while trying to get the fuel system bled out I got an eye full of diesel fuel that caused me some permanent eye damage. I should have worn ear protection and eye protection but I was in my 20's and gonna live forever. It was a constant cycle of mowing from one end of the campus to the other and just as you finished it was time to start the cycle all over again. There were no major problems with it at all, but at one point there were some issues with the hydraulics not wanting to drop the mower. One time while mowing the football field the grass was quite tall after a week of rain. I was clipping along pretty good when out of nowhere the tractor and mower about jumped off the ground. One of the juinior high students had left a green colored lead shot put in the tall grass and I never saw it. It's years later and there I times I am mowing with my Kubota B7100 (which looks alot like this Mitsubishi) and I will be reminded of my old friend I spent all those hours with. We solved alot of problems together out there mowing. I don't know where it ever ended up. I transferred to another county job and it was shortly after that they replaced the old Mitsubishi with a 755 John Deere. But that old MT372 is permanently etched into my mind.

    • @jjsmachine
      @jjsmachine 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow what a wonderful memory of it all! Unfortunately I don't have a belly mower for it. I did try my 5 foot finish mower and it just couldn't handle it. Been on the lookout for a 4 ft one but they seem rare. Thanks for sharing your memories, I really appreciate it.

    Where are the retaining bolts?

    • @jjsmachine
      @jjsmachine 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the engine? There are 4 bolts that drop down through the base of the engine and through the frame of the riding mower that you access from the engine bay and then underneath the frame. Loosen those and pull out and then you can move the engine around enough to maneuver the pulley to get the old belt off and the new one on.

      @@byoder0420 definitely sounds like a fuel issue. I'd start with draining the bowl in case there is water. Then I'd use some fuel treatment that helps clean the injectors and see what that does. Also check the fuel tank for water and dirt. You may have to drain and clean it out.
