My name is Scott Liggett and I am gearhead at heart, but I also love old boats and houses. I own four cars and two boats, most of which are over 50 years old. My current collection consists of: 1965 Impala SS, 1967 GMC pickup, 1964 Galaxie 500, 1990 Chevy K1500, a 1963 Glasspar Avalon boat and a 1983 MonArk McFast bass boat. My buddies and I also love crawling through junkyards, private collections, and random cars we see on the side of the road. I also like to drag race and autocross.
Check out Bangshift.com for articles I have written on my 1965 Impala SS, project Evil Orchid; my 1967 GMC, Project Hay Hauler; and my 1964 Ford Galaxie 500, Project Mud Bomber.

Massive Salvage Yard Full Of Classic Cars. We Go Back To Nobody Else's Auto Salvage
More junkyard crawling! We went to back to a fantastic salvage yard that specializes in old American cars and trucks. The owner of Nobody Else's Auto Salvage, Chad Erlich, let us take our camera into his yard and explore the old iron he has collected. This is part one of our visit to his yard last month and we see a little bit of everything. Chad was able to buy the abandoned junkyard next door to him and we look at the 100's of cars and trucks that were still there after decades of sitting.
Parts and cars here are for sale! If you see something you're interested in contact Chad by calling him at 620-786-4428. He doesn't text, email, or use smoke signals. Call him!

I Bought An Abandoned El Camino Project Cheap! Can I Make It A Daily Driver?
มุมมอง 31121 วันที่ผ่านมา
A friend sold me his 1976 Chevy El Camino. It was running, but needed a lot of help to run right. It kept stalling. And, he didn't want to work on it anymore, so it sat abandoned in his garage for months. I hauled a trailer two hours to his place to get it. It was in surprising good shape and with very little rust. And, it was mostly unaltered, with wiring that wasn't all butchered up. In this ...

How To: Edelbrock Carburetor Install and Set Up!
มุมมอง 5502 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I show you how to set up an Edelbrock carb before installing it and making it run. We also show you how to adjust the choke, the idle mixture, idle speed, and even the high speed idle when the choke is on. We also have to readjust the timing as it actually changed after changing out a carburetor that was running badly.
1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback, Bullitt tribute, I Try To Get It Running Great Again!
มุมมอง 1843 หลายเดือนก่อน
I get to work on my all time favorite Ford! Then I get to drive it! It's a '68 Highland Green Mustang GT fastback, just like the one in the Bullitt movie. This one is powered by a 302 and 4 speed transmission. It was restored over 20 years ago and has suffered from not being driven very much. Which only got worse, and the owner wants to drive it. He asked if I could help make it run good again....
I bought a CHEAP 327 Chevy Engine! Did I Get Deal, Or A Disaster?
มุมมอง 8644 หลายเดือนก่อน
A friend had this 327 small block Chevy sitting in the corner of his shop for more than 20 years. So long, that he forgot where it came from. I always wanted to build a high revving small block and the price on this short block was right. The casting numbers on the engine caused an argument on social media to whether it is a 327, whether it is a 1962 block, or a 1972 block. A few people maintai...

Thanks for the tour
Impalas definitely worth saving, love those
I wish I could save all of them.
I wish you were my neighbor
The truck doesnt even sound like it has exhaust
The impala sounds great and i prefer that proper muscle sound
Hi can't I do it on 1969 Chevy suburban C-10 let me know please
Sure. I also did this on my 67 GMC as well.
looks like a county road truck
Which truck are you speaking of?
Cool video dude🤙
Glad you liked it
Start at 12 minutes and thank me later
That engine is tired, so a set of rings, new incerts if needed and most do by then, absolutely change the timing chain so the hesitation goes away. If you think that engine is good for say another fifty thousand miles as they were not a high mile engine... a timing chain is not that expensive and really will improve performance a lot.. I am preaching to the choir here as you know this stuff better than myself. From there I would go over to the neighbors house and find the little brat that wakes everyone up at night with their parties, and while they are inside so drunk and high on drugs, take the zip cut and remove the top and sides of their minivan they think is cool for some sheetmetal you can hammer out to make repairs to those rear quarter panels on back of a classic old rig. I am turning seventy five on tuesday so what the heck... grab your favorite beverage, try not to laugh too loud and get yourself caught cutting out flat pieces of metal and fix the classic. You might be into a wobble pop of some kind, that and some Pink Floyd or maybe country music is your thing.... I played a guitar for years and western music got me a lot of good times with the ladies.
Dude, this is just day 1. Relax.
I should mention that I do have a 1969 Penn Yan ski boat that actually does have a 1976 Johnson Seahorse 115hp V4 it really runs great despite it's age i can still get about 40 to 45 on the water with it. But because age isn't a factor I don't no less than 35 despite me having an 11 pitch prop on it, It's an antique regardless but it really runs very smoothly since I just had done some serious repairs. Can't wait to take it out on the water again. For next season, after I just winterized it
What axels did you use ? I’m trying to find some to replace mine, some good cheap ones.
Oreilly's specials. Nothing fancy.
What if you have a hole after idle and “poofs” through the carburetor?
That's a lean out in the accelerator circuit. Make sure it is adjusted so it moves fuel with the slightest throttle movement. If that doesn't help, you may need to go to a bigger squirter.
Good sound 😉
What if i cannot get the engine to start. Can i still do this
Sure. Just remove the air cleaner, spray the fogging spray down the carb(s). Pull plugs to fog cylinders. Change the lower gear oil and get the water out of it. Then, get the engine as vertical as possible to get the water out of it.
That's a gaser😂 yeah
A lifted gasser. Dangerous.
It isn't a gasser. These street freaks were about cruising and looking wild. Not racing.
@@RebeldryversGarage Several people in the comments have referred to it as a gasser, yet you corrected me only. You got some 'splainin' to do.
@@deruberschwarze3943 I can't read every comment from those who can't read the description.
The point is you read mine immediately, whereas other, similar comments languished for a week without your notice. You're either incompetent or a liar.
@@deruberschwarze3943 Or I have a full time job, a life, and I just happened to be on my YT page when you posted your comment. Nothing more.
55 the best year for Chevy...American Graffiti turn down the music and you might hear the lesson...
Funny this comes up as I'm chasing a draw issue on my Nova. Previous owner hacked the wiring for an internal regulated alternator with a physical switch to charge it. I removed that, put in a new alternator (like yours) used the one wire adapter that plugs into the regulator and screws to the bat terminal on the back of the alternator. It charges fine, but with the key off, it's powered and drains the battery. I've been trying to chase old wiring diagrams and figure out what i need to do to keep it from drawing power with the key off. Any ideas? I'm at my wits end.
For some reason some people don't have any problem with battery drain with the jumper wire directly to the battery. Others do. See if the original brown wire is still under the hood. If so, double check it only has power with the key on. You can use it for the exciter wire.
@@RebeldryversGarage I'll have to do that tomorrow. I've been asking around and researching and some have said possible diode leak in the alternator. Even though it's new, we know what parts can be like these days. Thank you!
@@JR_406 Ah yes. The good ole days when "brand new" actually meant it will work and work correctly.
@@RebeldryversGarage that's the truth. I think mine is a reman, but it's barely been used. I had a friend that told me he went through two alternators before he found a good one.
That's a gasser.
Nope. Street Freak. Look them up. No drag racer would ever run a car that sat that high. Very dangerous.
@@RebeldryversGarage That's what I said. Dangerous.
Beautiful car.. why r u in the paint booth bro🤔
We just finished painting it.
BADDASS
Gasser
That 55 is a GAS !
Love 50s gassers
Double Nickel is Double Trouble
Is he heading to the scrap yard,I hope so
U know absolutely nothing about nostalgia!! Look into it!!
Why so high?
It's a Street Freak. A short lived era that took the gasser look to a higher level for the visual impact. They have no real practicality besides looking cool on Main St.
Omg that is my dream come true on tires
Why would you spend all that money..... then put it on stilts?????
It was all about getting attention cruising Main St.
6 “ inch lift kit 😂😂😂
Why do you guys put those front wheels so high up?
Straight axle front end! It's a gasser!!
@DavidRomo-w1u No. It's not. No drag racer would race this as it would be really unstable over 100 mph. It's from the short lived Street Freak era of the early 70's.
Nice gasser
Love that 55 !! Best looking car chevy ever made. Awesome job brother.
yeah, That's real nice..I like it alot !
Sweet sound
🏆Nasty "55"👀✌️

I love the old car style jacked up like that my old Mustang not as much as that but pretty close awesome man awesome❤
Double Duce
In the immortal words of Macho Man Randy Savage, Ooooo Yeah !!!
nice color
That's Rally Green. The modern base coat/clear coat pops more than the original single stage.
Flowtech Terminators are wildly underrated.
The purpose of the air cleaner gasket is to prevent the carburetor from whistling when the base of your air cleaner is slightly warped or rusted. Without the gasket, if your air cleaner isn't perfect on the bottom, the carb will whistle under heavy acceleration.
That's interesting. I have a Holley 700 DP that whistles between 875-900 rpm with or without an air cleaner.
@@RebeldryversGarage I bet you have a pinhole leak at the base gasket. That's an oddly short RPM range for whistling, though.
@@frankmiller9157 It's just the 50 year old carb's venturi and boosters making music. Stick a screwdriver down past the choke it goes away.
Very well explained thank you, I will be dealing with my first 4 brl install soon. Holley 4165 on a Edlebrock 3CB intake, SBC 5.7 350, 2 speed powerglide, 1965 Impala SS
