Kato Track is good stuff. I personally like to run the 15" radius as that will allow me to run any Loco I want. 11 should cover most of them as well. Kato and Atlas engines, to me, are the best runners. Welcome the hobby and have fun building your railroad to what you want, and don't be afraid to change something if your not happy we it. model railroading is a process so enjoy the journey.

Just saw this video. Noticed where you are from, I'm from Bend. Keep your eye out on the local for sale ad's. There was a large estate sale on the West side of Redmond. While most of it was O scale, they did have a large box of N scale Kato Unitrack. Grabbed it up for $75 they also throw in a 0-4-0 steam engine and one of the UP Heritage engines. Not sure if you know but there is a nice hobby shop in La Pine that carry's train stuff as well.

I absolutely love Kato Unitrack. That's what I use on my layout, and it's all I would ever use. I used flex track in the past, but never again will I use it. I'm getting too old for all that bending, cutting, and soldering. Good luck with your layout. ...Roy
