Unfortunately Ian has been home poorly today, so while he's been working from home I can't record voiceovers or video. Instead of the planned video on the Temu mats, today I've put together a little text based video showing you how to create a calendar. Let me know what you think or if you need a little more detail.

Introduction to Affinity Designer version 2 Workshop
I bought these mats some time ago and find them on a par with Brother and Artistix and saved a nice amount of money.
Hi Thia, I still think Artistix mats will last longer as they are still thicker, and of course Lee does the fabric mats which remove the need for the fabric support sheet. The Temu one will be great for your "normal" cutting materials - card, vinyl, thicker paper. Not tested it with thicker materials yet so that will be interesting to try. I definitely find the Temu mats are better than the Brother ones, and I prefer the matt finish.
Mic working ok. Sound good.
@@thiawillis8310 thank you Thia… now just need it to stay on for longer. Hoping it charges properly now.
Such a lovely project. Could see that amongst my little Christmas decorations!! Cxx
@@pcbcarole thank you! It looks great in a little display box too so I might try working directly into a box next.
That’s such a cool project thank you for sharing I’m definitely going to be having a go ❤❤❤
@@RachelHarries thank you x
That's so pretty!! Cxx
Thank you so much - planning on catching up with everyone's videos this weekend. xx
Can the tape be removed and replaced easily without tearing the paper it’s stuck to?
If it is washi tape, it will remove easily if applied in the last hour or so. Peel back on itself if it has been on longer and it should do so flawlessly. Masking tape tends to have a little more stick so always peel this back on itself and try not to leave any longer than 24 hours.
@@GoCreateCraft thanks!
Love all the layouts!! Cxxx
Thank you - got a bit carried away again. 😊
Enjoyed watching this and listening to how a graphic designer decides on the layout of a card. Thank you Nat
Thank you Thia - I’ve started the next book today covering layout in detail. Hayfever affecting eyes so other books had to take a rest today.
@@GoCreateCraft Great to catch a live with you today. It is ages since I watched one. I know that you have been busy with your books so maybe you haven’t had time. The new book on design and layout design sounds as if it will be useful.
@@thiawillis8310 yep the two books are certainly keeping me busy. Hoping to get them out soon though so I can get into promoting them. They are both doorstops though and hundreds if not thousands of hours of work. Mainly photos and indexing to do but I keep sneaking new bits in 🤦🏻♀️
@@GoCreateCraft hay fever is horrible. I get it when the trees start to come into leaf but grass doesn’t bother me. Thank goodness for antihistamines.
I love this - and particularly love that you had no plan to start with!! Cxx
I love to start from a blank canvas and show my process. I only intended to make one card though lol

Omg. superb ~later~🤝
Bi just need help with my activation cards i have a roll feeder with activation card en the foil one with activation card but o cant seen to get it activated.😢
Have you gone into your account and selected the correct button for the cards. Usually when activation won’t work, it’s because you are in the wrong section.
Thanks Nat, that was fab, sorry I missed you live but I had the dentist x
That's ok - I missed the live premiere too as Lu and I were out. Tuesday's session will continue from here.
Hi all x
Hi Mom, soz I missed you x
something is not good with the audio
Its playing fine here - what issue are you experiencing?
Great card, where did the dogs come from?
I’ll check with Deb and get back to you tomorrow

Thanks very much.
What is the roll on glue you use?
It is by Pentel. I got mine from a fab stationers in Hay, but it should be available elsewhere.
Just checked and it’s available on Amazon
Thanks for replying. Just watched a couple of your Lives, really enjoyed them. Gave me great ideas.
@@monicaarmstrong9258 thank you ☺️
lovely card
Thanks Delsie
Hello Nat, Wow….. Thank you so much for sharing this video. I must admit this video has given me ideas and inspiration. There are so many possibilities here for me to explore. I have a circuit machine and am saving up for the Scan-N-Cut because I have the impression it can do so much more. Still not quite sure which one is the best. I definitely know it has to be a DX model and not a CM model. Which one…? Maybe you can give me a little advice. The only problem I had was the level of the volume. I had a very difficult time hearing you. Tried without headphones, over the ear headphones and in-ear air pods. No noticeable difference. Could the microphone be placed closer so it may pick up your audio better or maybe the volume turned up on your end…? I have no idea how it works but I had everything up….. Once again…. An excellent video and tutorial. I can hardly wait for part 2…… Shame to wait until next Wednesday….. 😭 and you deserve way more than 1.11K subscribers. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you. Have a nice evening. Chris
That’s odd with the volume as we don’t usually have that issue - it might have just been me not projecting as much as usual. To answer your other questions, yes the ScanNCut can do so much more in many ways than the Cricut. The scanner on its own makes a huge difference. If you are going to do most of your work on computer and create your own files, then the SDX900 might be perfect for you. However, if you want to work with the onboard files like I usually show, then look at the 1200 upwards. The 2250 is top of the range but the only real difference is the connection to the Luminaire embroidery machine.
Oh and there is a Premiere at 11am (UK time) with Debs latest video about the spotlight technique
morning all
Hi Delsie
Beautiful card. Your image looks so vibrant when printed. May I ask what paper and print settings you use. Mine always looks a little washed out even though I print on the best setting with my new Canon printer. Great video too, thank you.
Photo paper is great for getting the best out of inkjet prints as the ink gets absorbed less. I’ll get Deb to confirm which paper she uses and I’ll share my faves too.
Hi Sue, I printed the image on 250gsm card stock, Lynda Chapmans extra white. On a HP inkjet printer with a ‘fine’ setting. I hope this helps 😊
Brilliant. Thanks so much for replies😊
Beautiful, would love to know where you got your artwork from.
I’ll ask Deb if she can let you know Corinne.
Love the quirky frogs. Fun card. Thank you for the idea.
You're welcome Thia. :)
Hard to hear you
Its playing OK on my system. It might be worth checking your audio settings.
Hello Everyone sorry am late x x
