I sent you my email but got nothing
What’s your email mate? I’ll look to see what happened
What courses do you offerr?
@@thegreat1548 hey send me your email
Failed with a zinsser allcoat wb black matt. Painting plasterboard from HVLP 1.7 nozzle. Dilluted about 10%, patterns all good, hand control, distance, 90 deg, 50% overlap, no orange peel, very smooth finish but getting horizontal streaks / overlap colour differences. Going crazy not sure what the hell am I doing wrong.
No offense but: Maybe paint thickness, maybe spray nozzle, maybe pressure. Turning this Maybe into Exactly, is what I hoped to find out with this video, as I already knew those Maybe factors. Methodical, measurable way of setting up the thickness, fan size, pressure, etc is what we need. So we have re-peatable expected results without guesswork.
What do you do to rank on Google?
I quite like this. So are you using the same airless sprayer to spray the celling and walls on day one?
Nice job. Looks spanking. 👍
I learned something today 😮
I'm glad you've done this vid. I have this discussion with other decorators who spray. They don't seem to understand that your overspray needs to land on a wet surface so it can absorb in and flow out as it dries. If the overspray lands on a dry unpainted surface it dries as dust and then subsequent coats over the top lock in the dust and also affect the adhesion. Cheers bud.
I use a side at s time., then scrunch- lasts a long time
Beautiful
Thank you
Great advice in general actually!know your worth is right 👍
Yep, give them the quote and get back the old "But I can buy paint in B&Q for 20 quid!" D'oh
You do it then 😂👍
Usual conversation- - Here's my quote - Its more than we expected - it always is 😂
100% I always said I’ll be the most expensive quote you get
Spray faster
Great tip mate. I have had arguments with other deccys for years over this. When you learn to spray, any techniques you've learned brushing and rolling have to go out of the window. Never too old to learn.
It took me a long time to learn it dude they will too one day .. maybe 😂
Great video was exactly the issue and I fixed it in minutes! Thanks so much
What lube do you use
If i wasn't at the arse end of the south coast I would love to come up to see you guys.

Pricing is the hardest part of the job, you obviously have your set deductions you have to take into account, van leasing, maintenance, tax, insurance, fuel, company liability insurance, marketing costs, phone bills, workwear, equipment and tool purchase and maintenance costs, any premises costs and bills, accountant fees, software and website fees and then tax, N.I, pensions etc etc etc the list goes on and on. Then on top of all of that you have to price in for materials for the job, sundries and then guesstimate the time you think it'll take to do the job. Don't know about anyone else but I find the whole thing subjective at best, you'll always have someone who thinks they know your business better than you do. If a customer says I'm too expensive, I no longer try to justify it, I just walk away and put it down to them not being able to afford me. The examples of overheads above are the reason pretty much all prices will be different. Just put your price in and thats all you can do mate. Nobody is forcing them to have the work done!
Exactly mate when you list out all the expenses it actually is depressing 😂
@abodeacademy it's only going to get worse with this government mate. 😒
What he means is he wouldn’t pay I’m sure he don’t speak for every potential customer as I’m sure he would prefer the re fit for himself so I hope he finds some confidence from someone rather than running other down in a vein attempt to try to protect what he must think are threats to his lively hood
Respect 😊
£500 including materials
Bloody expensive for a days spraying pal, think I'll up my prices, flaming hell
Do it dude 👍
We used polyurethane on this job over a plastic melamine wrap. The finish was as good as we could get it. Just remember guys with plastic wraps you’ll never get it completely smooth because the light reflects off it in places where it is bumpy. So don’t stress just do the best you can. If the customer is happy that’s what matters 👍
What gun and tip you using there fella? I've been using the Graco compact for the last couple of years with graco fflp tips. I'm finding no matter how much I tweak the pressure, viscosity and temp of the paint, whichever filter or tip size I'm always getting spits. Thinking it might be time to invest in a new gun.
cant you just remove the beading and spray behind them than striping door apart
I've been airless spraying for about 15 years, I've never had a tip wear out. As you said in this clip, just change them every 2 or 3 jobs. They also help the efficiency and life of your pump if they're newer.
If using satin / gloss on the skirting, would you mask up the wall to avoid overspray on wall ?
What kit are you using? Air? Airless? Cheers
Yeah sometimes trying to spray everything is a pain in the arse when it comes to sheeting up and protecting everything. Like you said just spray where you really think it's necessary like a wardrobe, garage doors etc 👍
What do you use to sand down upvc?
What's ps1 please
It's a shellac based stain block primer. Cracking stuff.
What grit you using buddy?
@mattcable6379 I think he said 320 grit in the video. Will smooth the furred up edges on the mdf lovely.
@@AspireDecorating I tried yo listen a couple of times but couldn't catch what he said.
When do you apply the second coat??
When the paint can says to do so
Ciret for anyone else wondering
Horrible color
👍
The quickshot is a great little sprayer
Sorry but that's absolute bollocks It's not about getting bored it's about control and precision! if your getting bored your in the wrong trade.......
@@Shishkebabs624 you’re just not understanding plz move on dude its all good we don’t want that kind of language and negativity on our page 👍
@@abodeacademy dude? Are you 3?
Why not mask 12" of the wall - small step to avoid the overspray on the wall ?
There no need
How do u stop the spray going inside? Thanks.
Open door slightly and mask up from the inside !
@@MaxMax-th7uz thanks for the reply. 👍
Proper tradesman back then 👍
Hi Jamie. Great video…do I set the air pressure the same on the compressor at 2bar same as at the regulator or more at the compressor and if so what kind of pressure. Cheers
@@lukevarley103 hi you don’t have to but just over will be fine
What do you prefer to use for all woodwork airless or hvlp? I’ve got a 495 pro but not sure if that’s the best for glossing woodwork I’m thinking a hvlp would be more controllable
HVLP all the way for intricate woodwork like spindles. But if it's a lot of woodwork i.e. lots of skirting then I'd use airless
Nice work! Quick question, were you able to spray inside the drawer slots all ok? Looked tight.
It is tricky but it's easier with air assisted airless as it's not as fast as airless so don't have to worry about being fast and runs as much
@@abodeacademy Ahh, that makes sense! I’m looking at the mini merkur for that reason… more control with volume and pressure to play with.
Beautiful work
Thank you

Water based paint i mean not eater 😮
Great job,im guessing its all eater based paint you use, most houses i paint are private and have someone living in them so its rare that i get an area i can mask off and be left alone in but i would spray more if i could
Yes it’s all waterbased we use the Sayerlack waterbased AT99 on woodwork or Renner and Sherwin have good waterbased options. We did all our spraying pretty much in homes with people living there. We just asked them to be in another part of the house for the day or to go out
