Tactical Response Fighting Pistol - My Opinion
💀 WARNING 💀 ... I just watched a video showing a guy doing a demo he shot a hole in it with 22 LR then a Big Hole with 9mm. Looked like it had Styrofoam in it. I'm not happy I just bought one of their Level IV's. You might want to keep your head out of the way of small projectiles ... ☠️
While I’m not willing to shoot my helmet to find out, I am pretty sure that it will hold up against 9mm as long as it’s not at point blank range. Mine is pretty well molded fiberglass and I do believe it has some Kevlar woven into it. I seriously doubt that I will ever need it for the purpose for which it was intended. To be honest, it is much better made and much thicker than the last helmet I was issued when I went to Iraq in 2005, and that experience has a lot to do with why I think it should hold up against 9mm. On the other hand, I am also pretty sure a 5.56 round will probably go through it like a hot knife through warm butter.
... this is marketed as a Class 4 ~ I just watched a guy shoot a hole in it with a 22 long rifle. He wasn't Happy. ... This is called fraud. It could get someone dumbass killed.
I got one of these purely to wear to my reserve field training exercises for our field hospital. I always get issued an enormous Kevlar that’s gotta be from the first gulf war and rattles around on my baby head but we get yelled at if it’s not on when we’re running drills. Don’t think I would take it down range but $100 well spent for what I need. Cheaper than a legit manufacturer bump helmet and will probably sneak under the radar when we’re playing pretend. Hopefully if I ever have to play for real I’ll actually get issued some good shit lol.
If they don't give you a good ballistic helmet, I understand Team Wendy is supposed to be really good.
These helmets are from China. They are marketed as Caiman Helmets on eBay, etc. many US companies are ‘white labeling’ them, including names that would surprise you. Some companies will add their own ‘proprietary’ mounting system. I hate to tell you, but if you look at the photos from HHV and then look at the helmets from Caiman - they are remarkably identical. NIJ also doesn’t rate helmets for bullet resistance - the military does. By the way, Mr. Gunsandgear did in fact shoot one of these and it was surprisingly resistant. I don’t think you made a mistake. It serves your needs and I appreciate you sharing your insights. Beautiful ear pro by the way. Happy New Year!
Thank you for the comment. I didn't know that Mr Guns and Gear actually tested the helmet. I will go take a look. Again, thank you for your comment.
You bought the wrong optic and now bashing it because of your mistake. You should have done your homework.
You are correct, as has been pointed out by several before you. I should have done some research, but I didn't even think about doing research because Sig recommended it as a replacement for my old Romeo 1. I also didn't think about doing research, because it was marketed as the RomeoX "Pro" for larger pistols. I seriously did not expect that something marketed "Pro" for full size pistols would maintain the profile of an optic for a compact carry gun. The other issue is the low profile. Again, for a compact carry gun it makes sense, but not on a full size carry gun that someone might like to use a silencer on. To give the RomeX Pro, it's due, it is a great optic. It is bomb proof, with side mounted battery and good controls. I love the circle dot reticle. It is just to small for a full size handgun.
Lots of gun smiths that work with competition guys explains that some muzzles with a angular port that doesn’t kick directly back into the gun would cause some issues in barrel harmonics apparently, so sometimes the fancy stuff isn’t the best but some relative inexpensive self timing breaks are great
I have changed it out for a VG6 muzzle brake and it works very well. Thank you for the comment.
Long drag on video on why is he disappointed in the SIG Romeo X 1) Window size and 2) Sits too low.b/c he can't use his suppressor sight. LMAO!!! Maybe he should get regular slide so he won't to add suppressor sight and it was designed to be compact. BIG THUMBS DOWN!
If you felt it was a “long drag on video”, why did you watch it? Apparently, it had some value to you if it made you laugh your ass off. I sincerely appreciate the comment.
I only have this to say. AIM Small Miss Small
Maybe. Aiming isn't really the problem. The problem is acquiring a good sight picture through the optic.
I did the same mistake from Helmetbros. I paid $300. Nice helmet with a very good suspension system, but the ballistic protection is a complete false advertisement. I too leanred that after I received mine. The cost is what drove me to the purchase as well. Spending near or over a $1000 was not an option for a helmet I dont plan on using on actual combat, but having the protection at a cheaper price would have been nice. That was the trap for us all.
@@GeorgeStarkes Amen my friend, amen.
Did it come zeroed from the factory?
Yes, it was zeroed. FYI, If you are planning to buy one, be advised that it has very tight tolerances They say it needs a "200 round break-in". Mine needed over 500 rds to break-in. I recommend that you use only brand name factory ammo for at least the first 200-300 rounds.
@ Yes sir I’m aware. I’m more worried about the QC as I see a lot of people complaining about catastrophic failures/pins backing out etc. Have you had any issues?
@@carryeveryday910 I had issues breaking it in because of the tight tolerances on the chamber and barrel, but everything has been good since. Personally, I really like the gun. It is lighter than a standard G19 and is fun to shoot. From what I understand Shadow Systems has great warranty service as long as you don't do anything to the gun. I voided my warranty because I put in an Apex trigger in it. The Shadow Systems trigger was just a shade better than a stock Glock trigger, which is horrible.
Depends on what your looking for. If your plans are just a helmet to mount nods or to mess around with I think it’s a ok solution if you can get it for cheap enough. These all come from china and retail for 100-150 shipped. The ballistic protection is questionable but there are videos on youtube showing it being atleast able to take some handgun rounds without issue. I think a major issue is some resellers are sell the fiberglass versions as the ballistic versions. Luckily yours is clearly some type of aramid. I think the factories in china to makeup for the lack of QC during the pressing process use a lot more aramid or PE layers and as a result the helmets are about 8 oz to a pound heavier than helmets made in Europe or the states. They’re based on the old generation of opscore helmets (SX/ XP legacy / LE) so won’t fit bigger headsets as well as the newer SHC helmets.
Thank you for commenting. It really helps in understanding what I bought. Again, thank you.

I understand this is just a bump helmet for NVG's. But, how long did it take to get it from china?
I got it from the company in about seven days. I have no idea where it made. It didn't come from China, but that doesn't mean that isn't where it was made.
Thank you for the quick reply. Tracking shows mine is shipping from china. Has taken 2 weeks to get to the U.S. and has been in los angeles for nearly a week. But again, thanks for the reply and great video.
@@joew7581 You are welcome. Sorry to hear you are having such a delay.
I wish I had seen this video before I bought one. I only spent $100.
For CCW purposes it’s a great little dot. There’s many dots better suited for what you’re looking for.
Totally contradictory to the manufacturer I'm inclined to believe the manufacturer over this goofball
Interesting. Please tell us what is contradictory to the manufacturer. If I am doing something wrong - let us know what it is, so that we can correct our actions. I am unaware of anything that I am doing that is "contradictory" to the manufacturer. All of the tools that I am using on my silencers were purchased from Griffin Armament and are specifically for use on Revolution series silencers. In closing I again ask you to please share with us your knowledge of what I doing that is contradictory to the manufacturer.
It is 23 Dec 24. I just received an email from Griffin Armament and there is NOTHING CONTRADICTORY to what they put out. They just want me to emphasize that this suppressor is not to endure the higher pressures of 300 BLK super sonic rounds.
One thing from your shooting, when you fire the shot. Makesure your trigger stays pinned to the rear do not bounce off it. Your follow through and fundamentals need work. Dont stop shooting. It is a matter of time. You are clearly motivated otherwise you wouldn’t have done the video or got the rifle. You have voiced a problem most people have when shooting. Most others would just give up. You have not.
Again, thank you for taking the time to critique my shooting. I do sincerely appreciate it. I can't get better without people like you sharing what you know.
Have you done any training? Have you taken any lessons from a "professional"? You can buy all the tools you like. However if you have never been shown the right way to use them. From the terminology you use it is clear you have never recived any proffesional instruction in shooting for work. I fear at no point did you define what "precision" means for you. Is it shooting 1/2 moa at 100 yards or a first round hit at 1500 yards. Is it wining nrl series? No offence intended when i write this. Any shooting is better than no shooting and time on the gun will always help you improve. Tho people sometimes think a new barrel that shooting 1/2 moa will mean they have the basic skills of the marksmanship principles. Yet they think their new rig will cure all their bad habbits. Get a .22 lr rifle say a VZ457 LRP 1000 rounds of SK standard and see what groups you can get from 50 yeards out to 150 yards. Then try and transfer them to the centre fire rifle.
You are absolutely correct. I have absolutely no training in shooting rifles at distance. I have a lot of handgun training and some carbine tactical training, but none on a rifle in distance shooting. I live in Northeast Ohio and I am hoping that I will be able to get some training next spring. You recommended getting a 22LR. You have to forgive me, but as insane as this may sound, I don't want a 22LR. My practice cartridge is 110 or 125gr 300 BLK. Yes, it is definitely far more expensive than 22 LR, but I can afford it. I have a Ruger American Ranch in an MDT LSS-XL chassis with a MDT SRS Stock and a Vortex Diamondback 4-16x44 Tactical FFP scope. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to comment. Your comments are very helpful and I can't learn without people like you sharing what you know.

My first rmr I thought this Optic had such a small window it sucks. Now that I’m good at shooting I’m like why do I ever need anything bigger? I can see the world around my optic and only need the window to show my door dot. It’s not like the window is my exclusive picture of the world around me I still have peripheral vision
@@Bigbearjblaze My first optic was an RMR, which I still have and use. The Romeo X Pro has a smaller window than the Trijicon RMR. I have been using a Romeo 1 for about eight years and for me it is the perfect size, but I really thought I needed to replace it because Sig abandoned the Romeo 1 footprint and my carry Romeo 1 was pretty beat up. I called Sig and was told by Customer Service that the Romeo X Pro was the latest and greatest, plus it co-witnessed with standard iron sights. So based on the recommendation I bought it. It never dawned on me to think that the optic window would be smaller. I never even considered researching it first. At 70 years old I for God Sake should know better.
precisely ...and its not even magnified .
Thanks for this video! I was really confused as I have the old baffles on the Resistance 45 and thought that the "blast baffle" was supposed to go on top like the new ecco flow ones do...but you confirmed it's an end-cap baffle!!
You are welcome.
Would you be opposed to doing a ballistic test of your own with one of there helmets
I am sorry, but I have $525.00 invested in this helmet, I won't be doing any ballistic test on it. I am not a monetized channel nor do I have sponsors. I am just an old retiree who likes to make videos.
@@armeddiver understandable
Total respect for your opinion and thank you for telling us your experience I am also starting to get into red dots and i feel the new trijicon optics offer a great red dot for the money
Thank you. Trijicon is the industrial standard for pistols. I am doing a Glock 34 build and looked really hard at the Trijicon SRO. I did some research and went with the Vortex Defender XL instead. The big reason(s) for going with the Defender XL are; Large window, durability, warranty, price and the fact that Vortex includes the required MOS plate. Before you go with a Trijicon, do a little research and see if there isn’t something that will do the same thing, but with a better price and warranty.
Good man! Thank you very much for making a video on this since Griffin's video is outdated. Useful that you went through the accessories also. I've been running a piston spacer on mine when it comes to PCC or lever action and it's been working well. Again I appreciate it and hope you did well in the shooting showdowns.
You are welcome.
Dude you are tripping lol
@@coleverret2269 I won’t argue with you on that point. FYI, while I still think it is too small for a full size gun, I am using it because I really like the circle dot reticle and it is super durable.
@@armeddiver it’s still the best dot sigs yet made I’ll give it that. But I still sold my XC to get another eps carry. And I think it’s perfect size tbh I wish the rmr would come out with a housing it’s size, that direct mounts to something for once lol
@@coleverret2269 Because I didn't do enough research before buying RomeX, I did a lot of research before I bought my most recent optic for my G34 build. I bought a Vortex Defender XL and it is awesome. Vortex even included the MOS plate that is needed to mount to a Glock.
Definitely worth having separate rifle 30 Cal and pistol 9mm suppressors. Really appreciate you going through the tools.

Should have bought the Romeo X Pro
@@jonathaninocentes3235 I did buy the Romeo X Pro, that is what is in the video. The only, and I mean only difference between the regular Romeo X and the Pro is the footprint on the Pro is longer to fit the Delta Point Pro footprint, otherwise it is completely identical to the Romeo X for the P365. I agree that the Romeo X was designed for carry guns, but when you tack on "Pro" and say it is a "durable" optic the military would like, you start to think an optic for a full size M11.

Excellent information, if you still have the Rev 9 could you please make more of an in depth breakdown of that suppressor. The video from Griffin is 7 years old and doesn't talk about the new eco flow baffles and how to make it a K configuration with new baffles.

My disappointment was total petty B.S. on my part. I changed out the muzzle brake. As for the trigger I have learned to use it.
