Hmm, I used to have the FTR 1200 S Race Replica. First model out in 2019. I sold it 3 years later. That was a first for me as I still have bikes from 2011, 2014 and 2018 in my garage. To be honest the FTR is a great bike from the fun perspective, for its look and the feelings it gave. But two times having to change the fork seals, for the need to change the dashboard, for the electronic reset, and for the rusting of almost all the screws, that was enough. The killing blow was the way the dealership handled it, made me run away. Sorry to see that the current model still has annoying glitches.

Most people I now that have these types of protection jackets (like myself), do wear them under an abrasion resistant jacket when on the road...

this type of 2cyl engines have zero emotions .. in all ways - sound, power, revs .. also the bigger 660.

I was one of the first people in NYC to ride with a Dianese Safety Jacket 22yrs ago, which is what this model is based on. (I may have been the poster child for it because no one else was using them at the time before me) I had two dumps with it on. 2 low sides at low speeds in urban environments. Same jacket. Made of a mesh waist coat with the padding and armor on top. Nothing over it. The fabric ripped a little and otherwise held together just fine. I still have the jacket. For urban riding and crashes the jacket will maintain and hold up as studies have shown abrasion needs are far more trumped by padding and armor needs in such an environment. It’s fine. For high speed crashes? You need a layer over it. It’s fine for everyday wear in lower speed engagements and is unbelievably useful for hot weather.

it has less protection but it is better than sunglasses and t shirt. and when is so hot that you sweat doing nothing a jacket is too much. i'm way more responsible rider when i don't wear my gear because i learned that road rash is painful AF

You need to search harder , Icon field armour with kevlar reinforcement on sliding zones is perfectly suitable for street use. An Alpinestars bionic below a kevlar or leather jacket will protect you better than the same jacket with their subpar level 1 rated small pieces of foam.

yes i thought about that too. i've been wondering about it too. i got into an accident 2 years ago, on the street wearing motocross chest protector, knee and elbow pads and helmet. though motocross chest protectors have plastic inserts to prevent abrasion, but shock absorption is at a minimum (they have thin foam paddings). when that unexpected lowside happened, i was still thankfful i had my motocross chest protector on. i never had any abrasion when my sidebody hit the road, it also lessened the impact. but still i broke my collar bone and a minor on my rib.. i was wondering: would a level 2 CE foam padding change the level of injury i had?

3:19. I am from India and tyres here are made in collaboration with TVS, its called TVS Eurogrip(but comes written "aprilia" from dealerships). I am not sure what brands they are using for international models but my educated guess is TVS Eurogrip because aprilia 457 is being exported from India only.
