Is this what it’s like being a new grad? | small wins

In general, I'm pretty good at picking out my worst traits/weak spots. However, now that I finished my first three shifts on the floor; I want to try and celebrate some of my small wins. I know not every shift is gonna be as easy breezy as it was this week, but hopefully I can keep the right mindset even when the going gets tough. Also, I was using the Dr. ForHair Folligen Sea Salt scrub in cas...

I'm a preceptor for new grads, and from what you have shared I would say you did the right things. It's a hard thing to learn to trust yourself but you are doing it. One of our jobs as nurses is to advocate for the patient, and you did that by keeping the doctor informed inspite of her seeming lack of concern. And the patient remained safe and ended up where they needed to be because of you. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this video, it pains me that after studding so hard I end up failing 💔😪, I've taken the exams for the 4th time now and still didn't succeed, i wonder how those who succeeded did it.
You will pass Every one has their own season, just keep going, pray and believe you will receive, though The NGN has a lot of new stuff in it
Took my NCLEX -RN test last week and passed with 150 questions on my second try!!, Huge Thanks to mr Andrew, he is a game changer
I have sat for NCLEX Exam for the 6th time now and still failed, i guess license isn't meant for people like me, like what am I not doing right ?
So sorry to hear you guys complain deeply of failing the exam. But I will assure you that Nclex exam won't be a problem to you anymore,if you work with someone like Mr Andrew . he help me through my exam and I made it through.
Really, you'll know him Too? I even thought I was the only one he has helped walk through the fears and falls of NCLEX Exam, Mr Andrew has brought me out of theq trenches and to a better living, I encourage repeat test taker to work with him.
Passing the NCLEX test is when you study hard, if you can’t study or you don’t have time for your studies I’ll advise you get a help like Mr Greg
NCLEX exam is really frustrating, I can't believe I failed again after studying so hard

People keep talking about Greg all over You Tube, he must be a very awesome help
I used some Uworld, some Remar, and read a lil saunders. I did 3 nurse achieve exams and my result came back failed
Everyone has their own way, Greg worked for me and studying didn't
Great vid def can relate ~ do you have an email to contact for business inquiries? Love the channel and would be awesome to work together
You got this! Your not alone either. I just finished my 2nd shift on the floor as a new grad on a cardiac med surge unit and feel alot of the way you do. I am an introvert and small talk is hard for me as well. It's so much to absorb. I also had a tough but funny ex military instructor that would yell RELAX! To me as a student. So sometimes it helps if I just tell myself to relax when I start to get overwhelmed and oddly it works 😂. Thank you for the video I really appreciated watching 👍
I bought the $500 Kaplan course bc I failed the NCLEX once already and heard good things about Kaplan. Ive taken all 3 CAT exams and passed the last two and my question trainer scores are like 66-68%. Would you consider those scores to be "high" chances of passing the real NCLEX??
Did you crack the test?
I only used the questions and answers I got from Mr Greg who gave me the exact questions I saw on my test

Giiiirrrl. I am an introvert too and I’m in my first semester of nursing school. The cohort I’m in is kinda annoying because everyone is so clicky. It’s like high school and we have a variety of ages but they all form their groups and I’m always the one left out. I try to integrate myself but they stay ignoring me and for no reason. It is so discouraging to go to clinicals now because everyone is literally in their own little group and I’m kinda the ducking left out. Keep your head up ! 🆙

I’m doing good in my first 3 QT’s but failed in both 1st and 2nd CAT exam.. what do you think I should focus on? Im torn between studying the content/watching recorded videos, or just take the remaining QT’s in phase 3 and remediate
Hmm, if you’re doing well in the QTs but not in the CATs, it seems like you might just not be doing as well in one of the big 4 categories. Were you able to review your overall performance to see where you’re scoring poorly? Once you find out what categories those are, I would probably use the qbank to focus on that particular section and then only watch extra videos if I need further understanding. I personally think the remediation explanations usually have more information than you need to review. I would still do all QTs though and remediate, regardless of performance. Good luck studying!!! You’re gonna do well!!! All just practice (-:
After using uworld twice and failing, I never knew I could ever pass the nclex but today I am very happy. I just passed my Nclex on my third attempt with a great help from Dr Luther

Failed 3 times. First shut off 101. And second and third attempt 85q lol. Very sad. But now I’m using Saunders book, do you guys think I’ll pass if I read the whole book? And not use archer or uworld?? I lack in content that is why idk how to answer the questions!!

I haven’t used Saunders before and I’m not sure what your learning style is, but I remember that making concept maps when I was reading really helped me absorb and understand the content better. I do think that doing practice questions after reading a section might be a good way to make sure you’re applying what you’re learning though

I passed my NCLEX RN just this month..it stopped at 85. Simple nursing helps me understand every topic rather than reading..of course pray pray pray🙏 A little bit of patho will help u how to answer the questions as well..Good luck for those who will take the exam soon..fighting!😊
Oooh!! That’s usually a good sign!! :D simple nursing was def helpful for me too during nursing school. Having a good understanding of the patho can rly take a person a long way during exams (-: hope to see “RN” behind your name soon!

Yeah! For my focused tests, I was scoring in the 70-90s. However, for Kaplan, you just want to aim for 62% or better to have a better chance of doing well on the NCLEX

New grad ED nurse here 👋🏾 w a total of 4 floor shifts under my belt lol. I want you to know you’re not alone and I too feel as if I have a hard time catching on to certain things. I believe repetition is key though. As scared as I am (which is most of the time lol), I consistently ask for feedback and occasionally throw myself out there bcuz I know this is the only way I’ll learn. I wish you all the best, you’re an awesome human being and nurse. You’ll get there 💕
Yessss, you’re so right with all that you’re saying. I know I’m gna be scared for a hot minute, but still gotta get things done. Trying to remind myself that this is the best time to take advantage of as many learning opportunities as i can while i still have my preceptor. Gluck girl!!! Idk if i could ever do ED, but i just know you’re a kickass nurse 👏🏼👏🏼
I’m a new grad rehab nurse. I feel the same way. We got this. 🩺😊
Yes we do!! Congrats on the new job too!! c:
Wow, we are twins lol. I’m also introverted and shy i know exactly how you feel. I wish we could be friends. Don’t worry you sound like a good nurse. I’m studying for the nclex and it’s super stressful.
Aw girl, ya feeeeel me lolol. Feel free to reach out whenever ya want tho 🥹 also, i think the partial credit that the new gen nclex gives is gna be a pretty helpful boost. I’ll also say the case studies are pretty fair and straight forward too. You know more than you think you do!! Studying and taking the nclex is pretty darn stressful, but it’s gna be the biggest relief once you get it over with. I know you’re gna do well c: lmk if there’s anything I can help with!
Right now I’m using Nclex Bootcamp to study. I’m struggling to remember a lot of important medications.

@@kims_korner Hi Kim, when you do the questions on Kaplan, do you follow their suggested decision tree. I honestly don't find it too useful because I seemed to get more wrong than right doing it their way. Just curious if you follow their strategy of that decision tree while studying or even on your actual nclex exam. Thanks :)

Are you able to finish and repeat taking your QBanks? How many weeks you utilize your kaplan? Hope to know your thoughts as I also use kaplan.
Hey! I just made a video talking a little more about what I did to study (-: long story short though, I didn't finish getting through my entire Qbank. I prioritized doing the tests more than doing the Qbank. I also used Kaplan throughout my entire nursing program, so about 2 years. However, I only did a handful of tests while I was in nursing school. I finished the rest of the tests once I graduated and it took me a little over a week to finish all the tests. I really do like Kaplan though! I thought Kaplan was actually harder than the NCLEX

Aw man, i forget that sometimes i am where i used to dream to be hahah. What a reality check, thank youu 🥹
Hi! I’m in nursing school right now, and I graduate in may; I’m in the same exact boat as you when it comes to being more introverted and shy especially when I did my nurse externship and my preceptorship which I’m doing right now. I def relate to what you are saying about your job and how your coworkers are more extroverted; I love the people I work with, but I’m not very good with talking in big groups. In my experience, I’ve had to learn to accept myself for being quiet and being the person I am, and if other people don’t get that, then that’s their problem and their loss. I just wanted to say that because it might help you feel not so alone dealing with that, and I’m definitely relieved to hear that someone feels the exact same way as me! Hope your residency gets better you got this! :)
omg graduation is just around the corner for you!!! (-': but yesssss, you def hear me out. I'm still trying to balance being myself, but also trying to integrate into the unit. Hopefully, with time, we'll all learn each other's quirks and personalities a bit better hahah. Aww, I'm excited to hear you start the next chapter of your nursing journey soon though c:
I love you! Such an achievement that you’ve just become a nurse! Also, I felt I had to click on your video, I so relate with you - but then in a uni setting :) I love how slow and low-key your video is! I just feel like in a while you’ll have such a great audience. Can I ask, how did you edit your video?
Aww, much love!! Hahah, I'm so basic tbh. I just use iMovie to edit lolol
Congratulations 🎉
