15 Day Hawaii Cruise on Carnival Miracle out of San Francisco.
Departed San Francisco on 16 Sept and returned on 1 October.
3 other families joined us. We were all members of First Southern Baptist Church of Pearl Harbor and served in the military in Hawaii in the 90s. This was the first time we had all been together in more than 25 years.
We will post the video from our Tour of San Francisco once we have finished editing.
Port stops were Maui, Oahu, Kauai and Kona on the Big Island (Tender port).

Hi Ed, we were in the aft balcony deck 5 a little to your right. I remember seeing you and your wife around the ship. At 2:58 in your video I am pointing my phone at you while I record video. I was cold so I have a blue towel around my shoulders. At 3:40 my wife is wearing the red hoody taking photos of the GG bridge we just passed under. You are in my video at about 3 minutes and again at 4 minutes when you laid down on the glass over the restaurant. I also make videos, kind of like yours, but our internet is really slow so I made a lot of shorter videos that still take a long time to upload because our internet is slow. I have uploaded a few but still have a lot more I will upload over the coming weeks. I think we were talking with you up front of the ship in the early morning as we were approaching San Fransisco on debarkation day. My channel is just a hobby and not monetized. I saw our cardboard viking ship in your video. It capsized....LOL. Kevin and Janet Powell.

@@briannelson6807 awesome! Our youngest son is a police officer in Louisville Kentucky:). The room was great! We loved having the Aft balcony. The ship as a whole needs some attention but not as bad as some I’ve seen. :) Thank you for watching and commenting. If I understood your Platinum to Blue, remember MSC does Status Match. If you saved your cruise card from this one, bring it next time, it will work in that slot (I like to leave AC on). Glad you enjoyed the buffet, they made a lot of upgrades after it came over from Europe earlier this year (brought 37 chefs on for a 7 day to make recommendations). Happy you got on smoothly, regardless of assigned time- I I find 10-10:30 a good time to get there. They process first come. Le Caberet Rouge (7 aft) from 7-9pm is my fave and I bounce around other live music surrounding that.

@@edandgtravels My experience is Status Match is permanent. I only got a small bump to Silver, but after several MSCs I got up to Diamond which has the real benefits. You can submit online, and then might next be able to get credit for past cruise. Thanks, but I have a family agent, so probably won’t be a good customer;-). But I’m happy to reach out and give more comments/tips if you think it would be helpful for you to help your clients.
@@gcpollard3560 of course! And I’ll have to look into the status match more. Pretty sure it said one time per person. But it would be nice to step right into MSC as a permanent Diamond. I think that’s the equivalent to CCL Platinum?
@@edandgtravels I don’t know how it “matches up” with levels. I didn’t have any cruise status, so I just had Marriott gold to do match which gave me silver. But it was just a few cruises to get to gold. Then a handful to diamond, but that included a Yacht Club stay and maybe some onboard purchases my wife made! Both of which they give you more points for of course.

@@hakeemawbrey8571 ya know, I don’t remember for certain but it was very comparable. Phone number is in description. Nice guy. He might have sold it by now though. He talked about it.
Holly Bay and Grove campgrounds are great for camping and the lake has all types of fish. As a former Law Enforcement Officer, I worked Laurel Lake and all the campgrounds in the area for 14 years. Holly Bay was and is still my favorite

Thank you for showing other things besides just the ship, I'll be on that ship 4-20-2024 for my first cruise. Loved the comments on the excursions because the reviews on Carnival website are very up and down, I've been afraid to book anything due to horrible reviews. Thanks again for posting.

Great question! I failed to mention it. Hot water is available at all drink stations next to their coffee machines:)

We've only done 3 (all on Carnival). We are taking our 4th cruise to the ABC Islands, on the Celebration 🎉 this September. We've had nothing but great experiences on Carnival. Great video series!
I’m wondering, was that excursion to Puerto Plata arranged with Carnival or on your own?
We booked that one through another cruiser who had set up a group package. Not through Carnival.

Fun fact: My wife and I took the inaugural sail of the Carnival Paradise in 1998! I proposed to her then. And we're still together! We saw the Paradise in Cozumel too! It was a special day for us! Thanks for sharing your journey! I enjoyed seeing that cruise again through your eyes!

My wife and I took the Inaugural cruise on Jubilee over Christmas. We were in room 5500, port aft. I really liked being down low, despite being under the lifeboats.

The Park n Wash option that I shared is a very good option and it keeps you from having to wait in that long line. You just go to your parking location and Clint will take you in the golf cart to just across the street from baggage drop area. However if I were you I would consider showing up very early to allow your disabled passenger to get out and you could also drop bags and then park. You might just have to wait at the terminal for a while but still better than in traffic. :) thank you for the feedback.
How early can one drop off passengers at the port? I did speak with the Park n Wash folks - very nice and helpful! They could get me close enough to walk, but not my travel companion.
I would show up around 8:30 and drop off and park. And just wait til your arrival appointment. That’s the only option other than just waiting in traffic.

I had an orange sized brain tumor in 2017 and had to cancel a cruise to get surgery. Doing well now:) trying to enjoy the travel while we can:)

Yes! No charges for showers. There is a sauna also. These are separate from the paid spa amenities.

Did Wash and Cruise pick you up in a golf cart upon disembarking?
Yes! It is part of the package! He told us to call him for pickup. But we just felt like we wanted the exercise so we walked back :)
