Dusky munia (Lonchura fuscans) - Wind Cave Sarawak
Seems like dusky munias are more common in Kuching, than scaly breasted munia. Happy to enjoy these different munias than what I could find at home.
Here the munias got more comfortable and got closer for this position , feeding on grass seeds. Nice bokeh.

Scarlet-rumped trogon (Harpactes duvaucelii) - Kubah Nature Reserve Kubah is magical. Walking up the main path, 2 trogons flew across and perched on the branch. Stayed sufficient time to get a few frames and this video grooming itself.

Raffles's malkoha (Rhinortha chlorophaea) - Sematan Sarawak Malkoha is clumsy and moves loudly through the leaves, easy to spot when present. However very difficult to shoot video as malkoha is restless and often moving between leaves. Could only get a short footage of video, before it runs into foliage and then out again for short while.

Mossy-nest Swiftlet (Aerodramus salangana) - Wind Cave Sarawak These swiftlets make their nest in these caves full of bats. There were more bats than swiftlets, yet they are nesting there. This swiftlet in the frame is close to the cave path.

Rufous-backed dwarf kingfisher (Ceyx rufidorsa) - Gunung Gading, Sarawak There were at least 2 rufous backed dwarf kingfishers in that position. After trackers gone away, leaving us birdwatchers to watch for bird movements, these dwarf kingfishers made its presence known. Some flash of orange, as it flies from branch to branch. Then sat there to observe us.

Proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus) eating - Damai Sarawak They are endangered with less than 16,000 proboscis monkeys in the world, 1000 of them found in Sarawak. This specimen is found in a disused lane in Damai with its other family members. This should be an alpha of the tribe.

Malaysian pied fantail (Rhipidura javanica) pair - Damai Sarawak In a disused lane where there is a couple houses and a pond, a pair of Malaysian pied fantail took residence. Flew around us and swished its tail around. We thought pied fantail had enough and would fly away. It flew around us again and again, and felt more comfortable to show itself to us.
