Wow, that's the best small toolbox restoration I've watched here on TH-cam. This toolbox came out a beautiful job, looks brand new!
@@peterironrope thank you 👍
Decking boards made are composite plastic n wood mix , looks cool 👍
@@darrelkinney9856 thank you 👍
Ha! I restore these boxes too, glad I'm not the only one. I have a Kennedy (Craftsman) and a Kennedy (S-K) I'm playing with now. Working on the Craftsman now, S-K box is next on the rotation. Generally speaking, I use JB Weld instead of bondo. I just don't let it fully cure before I sand on it. Nice video bro.👍
@@teter129 thank you 👍
Lol, late November and you can hear crickets in the background....... <sigh>
no video of it running and using it?
@@JohnBraman413 no unfortunately is down right now carburetor has something wrong with it
I got one of these mowers I’m rebuilding, have you done pulley swaps on it? And that’s a big boy motor btw lol. Thanks for the video!
No it's just stock pulleys
Don’t think I’ve ever heard of Massy Harris tractors, but good luck with the build👍
@@geraldrichards6218 thank you 👍
My Dad had a ‘52 Massey Harris with the standard front end that we used to haul firewood out of the bush at his 100acre land. It ran great but the first start whenever we went to use it always need a 12volt boost. Once it was started up the 6 volt system worked great for the rest of the weekend using it.
They are a Canadian tractor
Good to hear from you again, life gets in the way every now and then so we understand .Carry on👍

Glad to hear you all are safe miss your videos hope to see more soon ..

I’m a huge steam enthusiast and a huge fan of steam and I got plenty of books about steam
Those 1960 to 1966 C series were ugly body designs, just my opinion.
@@claylyons6447 your mama never told you if you ain't got nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all😆
What's the difference when it's a 4×4 I have a 1964 4×4 short bed, and I am just wondering what the difference is and if you know how rare a 1964 4×4 short bed is?
I really don't know what the difference is all my stuff's two-wheel drive sorry
What is the correct type of VIN tag on a 64 GMC K-1500? Also, where is the correct location for the tag? Thank you in advance..
I think it's on the driver side door jamb beside the dash I have one GMC carcass and that's where it is but I'm not sure if it's a 64 hope that helps
@charliethec10guy6 Thank you Charlie. My 64 GMC K-1500 long bed had the cab replaced before I bought it because a tree severely damaged the original cab. There are several types of GMC VIN tags available. Question is, which is the correct type for a 64 K-1500? Anyone have pictures? Feel free to block or blur your VIN number if you prefer. Thank you everyone...0
Any more videos on this?
What you want to see
Did you use black engine paint on the bowl. If not, the hot steam will blister it.
No but it probably will never be blowed with steam but thanks for the concern👍
@@charliethec10guy6 You will love the sound of your Lunk. Many new comers underpower whistles with undersize air/steam supplies. The whistle must have the same size piping from the air tank/boiler as the whistle inlet is. In your case 1 1/4 inch. Whistles have a more mellow sound on steam than air. I have heard all of mine on steam and air both.
When I get my shop built I will probably hook it to my air compressor that I will have in there. I still haven't heard it blow yet😆👍
Nice job. The 4 inch has a nice sound. I have whistles from 1 inch diameter to 12 inch diameter. You might like my postings. "12 inch chimes", Organ pipe whistles, my compressed air/whistles and others. Your Lunk 4 inch chime looks great.
Thank you 👍
Is there a difference in the frame on the Chevy vs GMC
Yes the GMC has leaf springs chevy has coil springs
Yep, 60-66 are terrible for rust ! My Son has a 66, bet I replaced 4,000 of Body Sheet metal on it !
Nice work. Looks great! I work at a Hardware store and the Hammertone green is expensive and hard to get.
Thank you!
Show the ‘66 handbrake inside the cab please. You didn’t make it clear on the differences. Can you decode the Vin and badges???
The hand brake in the cab is the same from 60 to 66 the cables are different on the rear axle 66 has a 3 cable system 65 and 64 have a two brake cable system I hope that answers your question. On the bin tags when I was making that video I wasn't intending on you having a VIN tag I was just simply pointing out the differences between the three years vintage can be swapped major mechanical Parts sometimes cannot be.
I watched a few guys restore a few boxes, you did the nicest restoration. You could have used a million different colors, you picked some nice colors & did a super nice job. Nice vintage custom color combination. Keep doing your thing. You’re doing a wonderful job. I’m doing a few Snap On, Mac, Dalton, Craftsman , & Kennedy top & bottom boxes for my own use. I’m trying to keep the patina on the boxes, I’ll spray them with a clear coat.
Thank you 👍
While you have it apart pyt your axels all the way in. That way you can trailer it easier.
Idk why this was recommended to a rando like me but pretty neat regardless. Would love to hear it going.
Thank you👍
Really nice job . Can you blow plain air through it or does it have to have steam?
I don't really know I don't have a good way to put air to it to see
@@charliethec10guy6 you can use air with steam whistles however you don’t get the true sound with air than you do with steam
It came out great never knew the dome was cast. Love your videos awesome job.
Thank you 👍
One thing that I would suggest is. Take the cotton off the seat metal. Mice dont need to have material for to build a nest.😮
how did you take the top handle off? And how did you take the latch off? Would be great to understand these steps in more detail. I have an old Kennedy mechanics tool box / cart in dire need of repainting, paint flakes off in huge chunks. looking at your video for guidance. Would really like to see in-process how-tos vs installment status. Thanks for posting! Very nice work!!
I just drilled out the rivets
Nice job on muffler.
Thank you 👍
Hi; I just stumbled on your channel. It looks to me that you are restoring ZAU. Concerning the air cleaner, are you sure that the bottom half of the air cleaner is off capital ZAU? The pre-cleaner you have in your hand is the correct air cleaner for a capital ZAU. A ZTU or RTU has a different pre cleaner than a ZAU. Sorry I came in so late.
I had buy another air cleaner because mine was rotted out in the bottom but it was identical to the old one but I did make it work with a piece of pipe and some stretching the pre-cleaner didn't fit the old air filter either but thank you for trying to help I appreciate it👍
Bought a 66 out of a field in MT sight unseen. Got it back to NH and dug in. It was in great shape except for bottom of A B pillars, Inner/outer rockers and cab corners. So weird how they pick and choose different spots.
It all depends on where they're from I guess.
That came out great looking! Love the hammer tone on it! I have my dads old one I was going to redo it's in bad shape after a flood lots of surface rust on it. I was debating powder-coating it midnight blue white like what you did but now i see the hammered effect I dunno i like you look a lot. I don't know how to replicate that in powder. Anyway great job you gained a follower!
Thank you 👍
Good luck
Thank you I've had good luck with it so far.

Still watching your work on the old tractor,it’s looking and sounding real good.👍
You have done an outstanding job it’s looking amazing!! Love the videos looking forward to seeing more thank you .
The Camper Special was 3/4 ton only. They also had special side emblems that were model specific and read Custom Camper instead of the usual number like 10 or 20.
Did the camper specials have leaf springs or HD coils?
Just liked and subscribed. I the past we owned a U moline and a Z. We now mostly have letter series farmall's. We have several chevy trucks. My wife Debbie has a 66 C20 that her daddy bought new in Dec of 1965.
Thanks I appreciate it👍
Awesome job you can be very proud it!! As always love your videos look forward to the next one!!

Which C10 came with the aluminum grill?
I'm not sure the 64 in the video has one. It might have been a custom option
@@charliethec10guy6i believe custom cab had alumimum grill and trim down the sides.

The 64 has a fawn interior paint the column is white cluster moulding is black The 65 has fawn interior column included cluster moulding is black The 66 has fawn interior, darker color dash, cluster moulding grey glove box plastic moulding w the word Chevrolet, different Chevy II steering wheel and horn button. The 64 frame is not different, but you are right on the sway bar mounting on the axle assembly. The 66 is the first year of the THM 400, available only on the C-10 and 20s two wheel drives. The 327 was available on late 65s and 66,and in 66 the 366 Chevy gas replaced the 348,409 engines in 66 heavy mediums. By the way, well done.
I made a mistake the THM was available in 66 (First year in Chevy Trucks, only in C-20s and C-30 models.

'66 has reverse lights, and ive also heard they have a seat belt bolt hole on the b pillar for 3 point belts
Yes
My 65 has backup lights. They were an option before 66. Also the 64 VIN number starts with a "4" instead of a "C"
Sounds like those old tractors needed a lot more maintenance than the farmer had time to take care of because you are finding a lot of boogers on it that could have been bad news😁👍
I know right
Just found your video on on your C 10, you did a excellent job on your truck, like the color combination, how long did it take to finish, I have a 66 C-10, restored in 2013, completed in 2016, these old trucks are getting hard to find, excellent video, THANKS.
thanks it took one year
The only wood I can find is the one with the grooves (the ones that will mess up the strips) do you have a link on the wood??? Great video!
