The R160 is louder and adds an extra shift in the propulsion
The reason why the R142’s propulsion is quiet is because of the stupidly loud HVAC. Thankfully the R160 doesn’t have that problem.
You forgot the East-105 St bound L and there is an actual Atlantic Avenue bound L announcement.

@@NJT_offical And both cars are actually tuned to the same volume. What made the R142 seem softer is its HOV cooling system that either the R160 doesn’t have or placed it on the inside rather than outside
