You guys are awesome and would be fun to play games with. Lisa, I love your unintentional sneaky tactics it makes me laugh. Check out the play around the 25:40 mark. I think you suffer from the same problems I do when I play. I play off of my cards in order and forget to play off the other players' played cards. That is the only reason I think I catch it. Have you guys tried the card game Fluxx?
Thanks! It's true... sometimes I don't pay as much attention as I should to what is actually in front of me. Wr have never heard of Fluxx, but we'll have to check it out!

Oops, the husband actually won the first game. The wife played a red one on a green three as her second to last play. Ha ha but he did not catch it.

FWIW, the greatest # of cards I've had to draw is 20 when the fourth +5 from UNO Flip was played.

@@LisaandKyleGetBoard There are eight +5 cards; at least it was only twenty and not forty (!!) (We've had to remake the discard pile a couple times.)
That's a lot of +5! It stinks when you're the one drawing all those cards, but it's also what makes it so much more interesting.
My wife and I always played by stacking cards but we find regular UNO a bit boring. We have the write your own rules version, UNO Flip, and Dos, any of those are go-tos (Dos being the favorite of the aforementioned games.)
Yes, stacking cards definitely takes it up a notch. We agree that after playing other variations, regular Uno is a bit slow. We haven't tried Dos, we'll have to add that one to our list.
One of my favorite games on the iPad is called spite and malice. I’ve been playing for a long time but just found out it’s actually the same as skip bo. I’m running out to buy the deck and actively look for a victim

Thanks for taking my suggestion! We played it differently, though. We literally played it as solitaire, but with everyone sharing the middle plies. No scoring, the winner was who played the most cards to the middle. Like all cards games, there are a hundred different ways to play them.
That's so interesting! I'll have to try it that way, too. We love trying different variations and even making up our own rules. Either way, it has been a lot of fun to learn! Thanks again!
Card game suggestion: Nertz (aka pounce or racing demon). It's solitaire for multiple people. We played the heck out of it growing up and it was always so hectic and a blast.

In the game of skip--bo if u can go in a play do u have 2 play?
You can play Skip-Bo with 2-6 players. 😊
What if you dont have a 1 or skip bo card when the first player starts?? Or none of the players have? How do you start the game??
Great question. If no one has a 1 or a skip-bo you just keep taking turns drawing and discarding until someone can go. Does that make sense? Hopefully that helps... and sorry this response is so late. 😅

How to keep score
As far as we know it's just whoever gets rid of there pike first wins. There is no score. I know this response is super late, but hopefully that's helpful.

It appears that the players do not recognise a six card from a nine because on two occasions a nine was played as a six.
I do feel like we are generally pretty good at catching that type of thing, but apologize if we missed a couple. We were a bit nervous. 😅 Hopefully it didn't make the instructions confusing.

Way back in 1991/92 my soon to be husband and I were addicted to playing this together. I remember being so disappointed and annoyed when he started to get sick of it. No idea where the ex husband is but I found skip Bo at Big W a few weeks ago. Looking forward to playing it with my son. Came here for a refresher course. it all came back straight away watching you both play. I know it'll still be so addictive & fun ! Thank you guys.

What happens when you have no discard..?? Like When your on your turn your last card in hand plays?
i think that’s when you get to draw 5 more and keep playing
@@gabidoo9304 That's exactly it-- if you use all 5 cards in hand in a turn, you get to draw 5 more and keep going; turn only ends when you cannot play a card (whether advancing in the stock pile, playing from your hand, or playing from a discard pile); you then discard one to a discard pile (possibly to later be played if space is available).
