Humminbird Helix ICE - Battery saving settings!
Thanks man, appreciate the review. Convinced me to pull the trigger on these!
They’re very comfortable covers and fit perfect hope you like them!
Im currently looking at a 2012 competitor 165. Would you recommend it? Mostly river fishing with the biggest one being the Mississippi River. Hoping to get on some walleye
It’s a great rig for 16.5 foot aluminum boats! I’d recommend getting maximum hp for motor that you can on it. 70 hp is max on my tiller. It’s a great deep v boat that is excellent for small lakes and rivers but can handle big water as well.
@ thankfully it already comes equipped with a 70. Thanks!
Perfect! You getting a tiller or counsel?
@@TrophyTimeAdventures tiller! Looks pretty good apart from some small sings and carpet wear. But it does look in great condition!
Awesome it’s a very versatile multi species boat!
Last year I had an open box cold air on my 22 5.0 and I loved the sound it made but the drone so to speak and the vibrations that it created were unbearable, specifically between 2500-4k rpm. I ended up selling it, but I still wish I could run a cold air. Do you notice any vibrations at all with the s&b?
Hey no I do not get vibrations with this closed cell style intake. My previous rough country intake open box style did which was one of the big reasons I switched. Hope that helps!
Just put mine together this evening. Two of the orange tabs were broken. One of the clips for stacking broke instantly. What the heck?
Yeah check my latest video on these sticks I’ve had issues with the black clips. Email tethrd directly with pictures they will get you taken care of!
I would call this a vent actuator. The temperature is normal the blend
Yeah that makes sense
What if the hooks don't bite into the tree and pop off?
I’d recommend taking a metal file and sharpening them like you’d sharpen fishing hooks to make them a little bit more tacky and stick into tree
Any issue with them as of now?
No they’re still working great no condensation and lights work great
@@TrophyTimeAdventures did you add any extra silicone before installing?
Nope I didn’t have to, I secure the resistors that come with them to my paneling before installing taillights to keep them secure
Level trucks are gay. How’s it ride? How’s it do off-road? But I bet this was to get that leveled look….
Chevy Silverado?
How about the OEM oil filter
Yes I run OEM Motorcraft filters
Mine have terrible output with the leds. Dead zones, light bleed, what did you do to get it to work right?
I guess I didn’t have that issue with mine I just had to adjust my beam height since I have a 2.7” leveling kit. What LED bulbs did you go with?
Do you use ETHANOL FREE gas or not ???
I do not, just use regular 87 octane with 10% ethanol
Any issues with cheek placement when shooting rifles? I have the razors and sometimes it’s hard to get a good cheek weld and not break the seal.
No I run the chord for the ear buds behind my neck so they don’t interfere when sighting or aiming with rifles or long guns.
can you use these and still be able to have a conversation with somebody at the range just like the Walker Razor Electronic earmuffs?
Yep you bet! They just cancel out noise once you shoot, I use them for trap shooting at the range regularly and hunting as well!
i have the same exhaust on the same truck do you ever notice any rattling coming from the exhaust? mine sounds like it is going over bumps
I do not have any rattles, I’ve read some guys have it rattle on the two tips being too close maybe that’s it? If so I’ve seen people take a smaller pipe inside the tips and just bend them a little more apart.
Happy dog Good dog
You bet!
Ain't showed
Not yet
how is the truck doing? still leaking? have the same issue
Nope not a drop going on 8 months already!
@ nice man i’m doing this today to my truck, thanks for the video really helpful 🤩🙏🔥
You bet! Hopefully works for you as well!
How does this MBRP system compare to the Borla S-type?
They both sound good on the 5.0 with the s-type being a slightly deeper and more aggressive tone. Within 6 months the mbrp had fair amount of drone while the s-type still maintains a drone free ride.
Is that filter oiled or dry ?
I got the oiled version
Hey there, I hope you’re doing well. I have a question for you. I have very inch stove to get to the garage and I tried to clean it and what happened is. I took the motherboard so it doesn’t get water in it and I took the wire out of it what happened is I don’t know how to put the wire back againis the electric any kind of pictures? I can look at and put the wire back again much appreciate it. Let me know what I should do. Live in Toronto.
Hey there for my motherboard it was plug and play with connectors and different pin size of connectors making it easy to know which one connects where. Did you cut individual wires when taking motherboard out?
@ No thankfully I have not cut any wires. Unfortunately I did not take a picture before disconnecting the wires. Do you still have a clear photo of the connections before you disconnected yours? That may be all the help I need!
I can’t attach photos in the comments section for some reason, but if you pause this video at 3:58 and screenshot that it shows the cable connector hookups and wire colors. Hopefully that helps!
Is that all? That's how you program it , I heard there's more to it than that.
Nope for this model of start-x it’s that simple. There’s another model they sell that mounts to the back of your obd2 port to at requires a little more steps to program it, but this one is that simple.
@@TrophyTimeAdventures one more question , what about that hood pin required does every f150 have one?
Yeah I believe that’s just a sensor for detecting if your hood is open or closed that will prompt hood ajar on your dash. Mines an xlt trim I think any trim level higher than that has that I’m not 100% about the xl base model or work trim levels if they have it or not
How long is the dynalite rope? What is the step to step measurement?
The dynamite rope is a little over 8ft and the step to step is 17” height
Are these overkill for a guy that isn't planning to put aftermarket wheels and tires on his pickup? I am planning on buying a new F150 Lariat and I'm trying to decide whether to go with the OEM mud flaps or get something aftermarket.
Without leveling or lifted and bigger tires you may find the step back version to be overkill, they’re also rally style and are taller so they’ll be closer to ground if you off-road much. Their regular mudflaps would be a great option and are a bit more subtle if you’re looking for something different than oem. I had those at first but they didn’t clear my bigger tires and wheel offset so went with their step back option. Hope that helps!
@@TrophyTimeAdventures Excellent feedback. Thank you.
You bet!
What mudflaps are you running?
Hey these are the Rokblokz step back style mudflaps! Check out my Rokblokz video for a more in depth look at them
can i make my truck dance with this?
I suppose you could haha!
Nice video 🔥

Hey Mr Trophy Time, Is most of your time on the generator from the ice fishing trips? What size load would she be pulling on these typical uses, in watts, would you guess?
Hey yeah for sure normal running for fish house is on eco mode really low rpms running TV, furnace, lights etc. if I had to guess 300-400 watts. Then a surge for me or higher watts is while running the coffee maker which adds another 1000watts with heating element on it. Hope that helps!
Does it drone around 2k rpm?
Yes there is definitely some drone at highway speeds with this exhaust. It wasn’t bad at first but after a couple years it got to be too much so I switched to borla system.
@@TrophyTimeAdventures did the borla system drone as bad?
No not all I want to borla to get rid of the drone. I had their ATAK system for a few years and while it sounded great it was too loud for my liking especially when towing so I switched to their s-type system and it’s perfect.
@@TrophyTimeAdventures do you use a resonator? And could you post a YT video of how the truck sounds?
Another thing that I've learned with these heaters is it's best to put a filter on them
Yeah I have read somethings on that have you put an inline one on?
Those hoses secrete oil which the oil gets into the lines and stops everything up
That would make sense over time and in turn clogging lines, good tip!
I wonder about those whisper grooves .. isn't that channel they connect/block supposed to funnel water away for better wet traction? It would seem that as the tire wears the ability to eject water would get worse over time... your thoughts?
Yeah that’s very likely that the water could channel or not escape with the whisper grooves, I noticed the Toyo AT3 has them as well?
Um, um, ummm
Hola?
love it mate! what size wheels and offset did you go? and did you have any initial scrubbing?
Hey I’m running the 18x9 with 0mm offset on 295/70/18 tires slight rubbing at full lock in reverse otherwise fits great. I trimmed the front crash bars about an inch on both sides to remedy that
I switched my 2020 5.0 to 5w30 full syn after about 6 months mine was always kind of loud 91 octane quieted it down even more also, and ive never seen a truck get better fuel economy thing seems happy as can be.
I run the same setup with the 5w30 And then premium 91 or 92 coupled with the 5star 91 perf/tow tune!
I used this on my food truck 8 hours a day. It lasted 2 years which was ok for the price.
Not a bad run this will be my 3rd ice fishing season with it we’ll see how it holds up but so far so good!
3:36
Thanks
I bought a 2018 new. I always felt the use of 5w20 was for fuel economy. At my first oil change at 500 miles I switched to 5w30 full synthetic. I have no noise at all.
That’s great to hear! Still running 5w30 full synthetic in mine, runs way quieter and I agree 5w20 was probably an attempt to squeeze every fraction of mpg for CAFE and EPA pleasing by ford.
I got the same one and it works great . Currently running a freezer, fridge, and window unit . Works great
They’re great generator for the price this will be my 3rd season with my Wen!
@@TrophyTimeAdventures wen for the win!!!
Absolutely!!
When you shoot does it muffle the noise really good like barely able to hear the shot I have a buddy that has a different type that when he shoots he can't hear the gun go off really just wondering if they muffle it like the ones my buddy has
Yes these reduce the decibel level when shooting by 29 decibels so doesn’t entirely cancel it out. These have adjustable volume omnidirectional speakers in them like hearing aids so it amplifies regular noises like conversation while hunting as well which is a nice feature.
I recently added Rokblokz mudflaps to my 2023 Bronco Black Diamond. I like how they mount, but they do not provide long enough screws to properly assemble the front flaps. Rokblok has added a metal plate to stiffen the assembly on the front plates, but did not update the screw lengths to accommodate the thicker stack of material. The provided 1/2" long 10-24 barely engage one thread on the holes which go through the metal stiffening plate. I ordered 9/16" 10-24 screws to assemble these properly, and this fit well. I made Rokblokz aware of this problem and their response was: "Thanks...but we know what we are doing." Not a great response, especially given the cost. Good engineering practice we teach at Caltech is that screws should engage 1.5 screw diameter. For a #10 screw, (0.190" dia.), this means the screw should thread in 0.285", which is 7 turns.
I had a similar encounter as you did with the regular rally style flaps from them, felt like thread engagement was barely there. Never had them on long enough to see if they would hold up or not before changing to their step back style due to tire rubbing.
Ok… thanks the reply. Rokblokz insisted that with thread locker it will be fine 🧐 For the love of god (and $450) just provide the correct screws.
I can't hear you speak up please
10-4
WERE DID YOU BUY THEM AT.
Hey I got these from discount tire
Rock throwers.
They do like to throw some rocks here and there
I ran a set of these, Load Range E, on my 2019 3500 SRW, rotated them every 4500-5000 miles, and only got about 42K miles out of them. Now running the Wildpeak 4s, heavier tire, but happy with it so far.
Be curious to see how the Wildpeak at4 does, I had the previous Wildpeak at3 and got great life out of them!
Love the look someone said they are stone collectors
Yeah they will pick up some rocks on gravel roads, not as much as my K02 tires I had for comparison. The falken Wildpeak AT3w were surprisingly good in this area and not building up with rocks
My trucks leaking from the same place, well I think it is, a lot of oily residue there
Yeah I think it’s a fairly common thing, figure I’d try the gasket sealer before pulling the whole valve covers off to replace seals and so far so good!
Can you tell me how to tighten up the hinges???
I believe you can tighten the spring tension on the back with regular hex socket wrenches to give you more lift or hold when the door is open. I need to do the same thing with mine shortly as it barely stays open anymore!
@@TrophyTimeAdventures I can't find where to tighten it up. If you find out let me know. Thanks
I hope it works better for you than it did for me! I really liked the idea of this camera for the same reasons you said. I really like how compact it was. Especially compared to my 715c i sold to get this. I liked the internal battery. I could charge it with a battery box. First 2 trips it seemed great. Even though i almost fropped it down the hole in the first 15 minutes onnthe ice. Was holding the reel and the screen came off. Then i went to do a derby with my buddy. His 715c could see fish an hour before and after i could. It also started having a halo around any light sources (other holes). The picture was also getting worse. I ended up returning it. I keep thinking i shouldve just exchanged it and given it another try. I got it for $200 of on sale. Ended up getting a great deal on the hd7i-125. I like that. Its just soo big and heavy. Was thinking about trying out the av822 hd. I just really like how small and portable this units are. Edit: one thing i really liked was the 1/4" mount on it. I ended up fitting it to a cheap camera trip and then i could position it at different heights that worked better for me.
So far it’s been great unit for me, it definitely could have a better picture quality but I can’t complain since it’s the SD standard definition unit. If I end up using it more and more in my wheelhouse on the TV I will probably upgrade to an HD camera unit!
How much foot room do the stand-off give you?
From the tree surface to the steps there’s 4.5” of standoff so pretty good amount for boot room 👍
