WHich GTA V are you guys playing, mine has way more car damage, PS4 version. Even your wheels can bend out when you crash or hit a curb hard enough causing the car to veer to one side and hard to drive straight. FYI, im not in USA.

honestly i would not care if we died from roof caving in new way to die and to unalive others so then you would need to be more careful

Maybe it could be an optional setting you could enable to have that deformation or just regular gta physics.

I use one of the gta v car physics mods, I don't remember which one it is, but it feels amazing and has deformation. It makes you actually have to be good and practice. I also have the manual transmission mod which adds so much in terms of control.

I would love for GTA to take a similar route but a little less extreme. It would be super fun to be racing through traffic trying to get away from someone and then you have the serious consequence of crashing. Plus if you have a serious crash and survive it then your forced to exit your car and start a gunfight to defend yourself as you attempt to get a new one. Its GTA (Grand Theft Auto) I want to have a real reason to ditch my supercar and steal a normal car. Right now the GTA damage models is just an annoying inconvenience but if the damage model was better I think it would add consequences and therefore more fun.

GTA 5's vehicle physics is arcade because Rockstar knew players would drive cars like a fucking psycho-maniac killing every single pedestrian on sidewalk and hitting every pole, so by the time they drove to the mission marker the only thing that would be left of the car is car's name, so that's why they simplified car's physics. (Sorry for bad english, I'm not native speaker)

the thing is, GTA is not meant to be a pure simulator, or really a simulator at all. It's a fun arcade-ish game. If GTA had realistic crash physics we'd all be quitting mission in 10 minutes lmao

2:44 That means it would probably make for a good mod. That way, people can choose whether they want that or not. The first-time player might not care for that, but it makes for a genuine challenge for a better player since the stakes during a chase are raised.

They should balance it tbh, Just make the cabin holding the occupants non-destructable except for some dents, Make the drivetrain solid so you can still somewhat drive even after a bad crash, And give the rear/front end of the car soft body physics but 3× stronger than in Beamng so it'll still be as playable but also a little more realistic.

It shouldn't be as realistic as beamNg but it should be more realistic than GTA 5.

Short answer for vehicle realism is it will take fun out for majority of players. People would totaled their cars just a second after they steal it and died from the police.

This would be incredible, but you can only imagine getting into a horrific car accident, and with the soft cars in BeamNG, the scenery of the player in the accident would be grisly.

Let's say beamng is 100 on the scale while gta v is around a 10 on the scale. What people that are asking want is the deformation of beam with the rigidity of gta, so basically, 50 - 60% of beamngs physics

Just imagine the gta cops with there terrible ai with beaming physics.

This can be modded with Deformation mod + the GTA 4 handling. It's not the same, but it will make it better

but, GTA VI could add a different mode than online or story mode, freeplay mode, in freeplay mode, cheats, flying, invulnerability, infinite money, everything should be allowed. and in freeplay mode, if you want, you can turn on vehicle physics too!

The owner of fivem should see if they can buy a license for the engine bmg uses tbh

Having beam physics in gta is a bad idea. Beam relies solely on those physics, gta does not. Adding something like this, even to GTA 6 would arguably make the game worse from a gameplay pov and that is the most important part of the game, not to mention the fact that it probably wouldn't even run smooth at all.

GTA 5 takes more of an arcade style to driving. The fact that the cars handle easily, and damage less means the game can focus more on weapons and other destruction. It would be funny if GTA 6 had an Advanced Mode which allowed your car to be damaged more easily.
