Located by the Jurumirim reservoir in Avaré, this weekend house was designed as a tranquil retreat, deeply connected to nature. The relationship with the reservoir plays a central role in the project, ensuring that the landscape is visible from every part of the residence. The T-shaped layout efficiently organizes the spaces, allowing for smooth circulation and a clear division between social and private areas. This configuration also provides stunning views of the reservoir from the main rooms, reinforcing the feeling of being immersed in the natural surroundings.
The choice of materials is strategic, with concrete and wood playing key roles in both the aesthetics and functionality of the house. Exposed concrete, combined with wooden panels, strikes a balance between modernity and rustic charm, while the laminated timber construction system allows for a more sustainable and efficient building process. These materials, known for their durability, also help integrate the residence with its natural environment, highlighting its connection to the surrounding landscape. A concrete pergola above the entrance hall allows natural light to filter in, creating a dynamic play of shadows that enriches the atmosphere.
Inside, the house is designed to foster social interaction and flexible use of spaces. The kitchen opens to the living room through retractable wooden doors, offering a seamless transition between spaces. The gourmet area, strategically positioned to maximize views of the reservoir and pool, serves as the heart of the home, with glass sliding doors that fully open, offering an unparalleled indoor-outdoor living experience. This openness creates a fluid connection between outdoor life and interior spaces, perfect for leisure and family gatherings.
The selection of furniture and the lighting system were also carefully curated to complement the architecture and landscaping. Linen and leather armchairs were chosen to create cozy yet elegant spaces, while strategically placed lights highlight the textures of materials and architectural forms, enhancing the ambiance both day and night. The result is a functional, sophisticated, and nature-connected home, where design, materials, and the surroundings blend seamlessly into a harmonious retreat.
