Hi Poenskop, this was just a few months after restoration and a few months before the derailment on the Fathers Day train on I think June 22 or so of 2010.

As an American, this engine is just gorgeous. Unlike anything we have in the States.

I'm sure glad this magnificent steamer is still with us. I rode across the Karoo behind it in 1982. She impressed me with both power and speed capabilities. Thank you for sharing this with us.

My late dad, John Harris was the driver of the leading locomotive with Wally Pienaar in the 2nd locomotive. We have a letter written by an American Steam Enthusiast who refers to this incident on Great Brak Heights en route to George.

Have you guys ever thought about investing in a HI-RAIL PICKUP or even a HANDCAR and INSPECTING TRACK BEFORE YOU RUN THAT OLD IRON ON IT? I don't see the results of "stolen sleepers" in your videos. I see the results of somebody doing some sort of track maintenance or repair or removal and YOU GUYS not knowing about because you don't INSPECT THE TRACK before you go out and PLAY ON IT. Old and retired and maybe taxpayer subsidized or not, TRAINS ARE NOT TOYS and the LESS YOU RUN THEM and the LESS A TRACK GETS USED, the more CAREFUL YOU SHOULD BE. Obviously laying that locomotive over on its side was NOT the fault of "stolen sleepers". It looks more like you ran the locomotive into a set of SWITCH POINTS that weren't set or adjusted properly or a set of "catch points" that did what they were supposed to do and DERAILED THE TRAIN so it wouldn't go into a an even more dangerous section of track.

Nicely done. Good to see solid, steady camera work. The crossing shown here at Beeton is one of the best spots to photograph engine 136 working hard coming up the grade.

WOW!!! This is some FANTASTIC footage of the 15F in action!!! You have chosen some great places to take the footage - absolutely wonderful!!! I really do hope that you continue to take footage like this of SAR steam trips and the length is good as well so I could really sit and enjoy it with some coffee!! Lekker man!!!! Allows us SA Steam Freaks who cannot go on the trip to experience the power and might of one of the best SAR Steam Classes! Look forward to more in the future!!! Thanks!
