I had two dachshunds, a mother and a daughter. At that time, i was living at the countryside and they were chasing deer, rabbits etc. They always came back, but sometimes I was waiting for them a few hours. Now I have my third dachshund and she goes after a deer, but comes back in three minutes. She's very obedient and can be off leash everywhere, except near the road I keep her on the leash for her safety.

it not a great idea to allow dogs off leash. Unless it very safe place. I was walking once in very tall grass and a very small yorkie came by I could of easily snatched it from the owners. The Dachshunds are small too. very cute pets personality plus.

Currently have 2 wire hairs; one is very friendly and the other I would say "it depends." Neither are aggressive to people however.

Mine is only aggressive w barking she’s pretty submissive and once she knows someone isn’t a threat she’s pretty friendly.
