Black Hawk Ground Run & Systems Check
Heavy D Sparks recently purchased a Sikorsky UH-60A Black Hawk helicopter and hired Thoroughbred Aviation to perform the aircraft inspections. Because of the time involved with the government auction, acquisition and final release of the aircraft, the Black Hawk had been sitting unused for 6 months. This was the initial runup and systems check after its storage.
We installed the main and tail rotor blades as well as the stabilator. Then we accomplished ground runs and systems checks to ensure everything was operational prior to starting the Black Hawk tear-down and inspections.

Thank God we don't have to rely on the S39 Switch Box for troubleshooting any more! Engine Common Ground Checks BABY! The Gas Generator is limited to 10,000 hours though. RARELY if ever do they make it that long.

I'm here through HeavyD aswell. I'm liking these kinds of vids. Its an "indepth" clip to the famous Blackhawke. I do wonder sometimes... what if, an engineer from the 50's would see this engine.....What if Henry Ford did? What if a train engineer from the 19 hundreds did.... Our knowledge has grown so fast so quick.... makes you think about 50 years from now.
