I did a search on Google Maps/Street View (most views were updated in 2024): The program starts in the Shimotori Shopping Arcade on the south side of Denshadori. I hadn't noticed that the arcade had a glass roof before. After the introduction they go west out of the arcade half a block down Sakabadori to the building Miku's old cafe was in. Street Views back to 2012 show the hostess info center already there, and still there now, although with new signs. The bar now on the second floor in 2017 is apparently still there. There was a tequila bar there in 2012-2015, though they didn't take the cafe sign out of the window for some time. From there they went back to the arcade and north to the Swiss cake shop. Shortly after this was shot, the entire building it was in was demolished and a new one built in its place. Swiss got its old place back in the new building, according to a shot taken from the crossing street (Shiromichodori). Then they left the arcade at the north end and crossed Denshadori and went half a block west to Ookusudori and a block north from there to Tapiking. The lunch truck in the program was replaced by a fixed building (apparently made from a shipping container) by 2019, and is still in business. From here they went one block east to the Kamitori Shopping Arcade, another covered shopping area, to go to Houraku Manju. The newest picture for there is from 2019. Finally, they returned to Shimotori Shopping Arcade, and went east out of the arcade onto Sumu-oho half a block to Kuzushi, which is still there. The program didn't show it, but there is a moai (Easter Island statue) above the building's entrance.

This is why I chose Kumamoto as my Panopticon in Freedom Wars Remastered.

I liked how Saiki's eyes widened when Miku says she made Tumire for her customers. I have no doubt she was popular - her bubbly personality makes people happy. When the hot pot comes out and Miku is cooking, Saiki says, "Isn't it too big?" That's exactly what I was thinking! I wouldn't be able to eat all of that food, but maybe our little pigeon was very hungry? Saiki drinking the beer at the end - she was just thirsty, po!

I remember seeing the thumbnail for Thrill on youtube. I thought it would be a J-Pop idol sound. Then I was immediately blown away with the first few notes. When Kanami shredded that first solo,I immediately knew this band was the Japanese Van Halen. That is how talented they are.

I recently visited all these places in October 2023. They are all within walking distance from each other and can be visited within one day, but you might need two days in order to eat everything as many of the dining places only open for dinner, not lunch. 03:11 The izayaka which used to be Kobato's maid cafe is called 飯処びびんちょこ (bibinchoco) and is still there. The owner (03:14) and his wife are very friendly and the food is genuinely amazing. If you can speak Japanese, they are also very fun to chat to. They very nicely put Band-Maid on the playlist when I was there (was the only customer at the time). Only opens 5pm onwards. 04:21 Swiss is still in the same place, although the exact cakes the maids ordered were not available any more. There are multiple Swiss outlets in Kumamoto but this one is along Shimotori (the main shopping avenue). 07:23 Tapiking (タピキング オークス通り店) is still in the same place, although the food truck has been replaced by a semi-permanent extension of the building. I had an oreo-strawberry (Miku's drink), which was good but quite sweet (probably catering to younger tastebuds). 09:32 Houraku Manju is still in the same place and was tasty as expected. Cheap and good. Slightly chewier and less sweet than versions from elsewhere. I did not visit the horse shabu-shabu restaurant (Kuzushi) but I did visit Miku's old workplace (鍋やTAMARI 熊本総本家), which features in another video filmed in 2018. There's also a picture of Miku and Saiki from when they visited on the door frame. It's also nearby. Miku's old manager still works there and remembers her. Also doesn't open for lunch, so plan accordingly.
