Hey guys! I'm Angela, welcome to my channel, where I discuss all things crafty, and create tutorials for amigurumi toys and baby items.
My mum taught me to knit when I was 10 years old, and it has always been one of my great passions. I taught myself to crochet three years ago when I moved to London, and haven't stopped since!
I love designing new patterns, and love even more when I get to share my passion with others. I hope you enjoy my videos, and if you have any questions, leave me a comment or email me at berceauknits@gmail.com! :)

How To: Slip Knot and Chain Stitch for Beginners | Step-by-Step Crochet Tutorial
Are you just getting started with crochet? Are you a complete beginner to the craft?
In today's tutorial I am showing you the Slip Knot and Chain Stitch: two fundamental crochet skills that you will need to learn when you first start to crochet. These two skills are needed to start FLAT projects, such as blankets, scarves and other wearables.
The equivalent to the 'cast on' in knitting, in this video I am going to show you three simple techniques to form the slip knot, and then how to create the chain stitch for your future crochet projects. I have done this at a beginner's pace, so hopefully this slow motion crochet tutorial is helpful.
If you want to start a project IN THE ROUND, such as a hat or amigurumi, head on over to my other videos for beginners, which show the magic ring or magic circle technique for both single crochet (th-cam.com/video/I_Q8eYq8FgM/w-d-xo.html) and double crochet (th-cam.com/video/bsnd7OA3qJw/w-d-xo.html).
Let me know down in the comments if you have any questions and if there are any specific beginner's tutorials you would like to see.

I was really struggling to get my sc to attach to my magic ring, and your video finally helped me figure out my problem. Thank you!
Thank you ! This was great …. I do still have a question and maybe I need to look at your other videos and tutorials, but how do I continue the circle and do a double stitch inside one stitch… at least that what I think the pattern is telling me to do? 🫣 I’m trying to teach myself to crotchet after having taught myself to knit about 4 yrs ago everyone keeps saying crotchet is easier and faster than knitting
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm using the same size hook and was starting a plushie; you're the only tutorial I came across that mentioned using both strands to get started. I thought I was doing something wrong.
Very helpful, thank yoy.
Guys go to Ollieholliecrochet it was so easy
Still dont get it
Probably the EASIEST and SIMPLEST magic circle guide I've ever seen!! Thank you so much!!!
ගුත්තිල කවි නම් ජීවිතේට අමතක වෙන්නේ නෑ සර් ❤❤
Thank you! Holes in regular decreases really drove me nuts, I don't even understand why such a technique is used in crochet toy tutorials
That was an awesome explanation! Short, concise, clear and to the point. Lovely!
Thanks for this technique. I struggled for a long time to get this right and I've actually managed to crack it! 😊
Bro I’m so confused?????????????
I am so thankful for you. It was very helpful! I have had a concussion and been challenged with the ability to figure this out. Yay!!
You've explained and showed how to do this better than anyone else in the videos that I've viewed ❤
I think the other way is alot easier than this one you make it 1000times harder
This video is the best video about a magic ring! You clearly helped me out! Thanks!
Thank you! You are an angel to the crochet world, and I absolutely love your voice, it is so soothing☺️
Yes! Way more clear then the video that comes with this kit I got, it’s my first kit and this video tutorial it comes with barely makes sense, she does it way to fast :( thanks for going slow and explaining it in detail! ❤
I’ve watched so many tutorials on this and you’re the only one who mentioned that you need to stitch both strands!
Super
Am i the only person that watches a video sees the comments sees people saying it helped sooo much trys it then starts raging ? Edit:i finally learned !im soo happy this helped soo much i stopped raging lol ❤ Edit again :i think i did it wrong ...😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Edit again :i got it right !!!!!
It's hard for me to follow along because there's a few times in the beginning when you jump cut & suddenly your hands are positioned differently & holding the yarn differently. It would make it so much easier if I could see how you're managing to hold it all. And I don't mean this in a rude way. Just letting you know so maybe next time I can follow better. 😊
Tysm this tutorial is amazingly helpful!! But i have no idea what to do next....... :')
No help I made a slip knot
I’m struggling so much with magic rings , so I’m going to try this one , as I’m new to crochet , so fingers crossed 🤞 xx
i watched about 10 videos but this is the simplest way to make a magic ring, i already understood how to make it watching other youtubers, but need to admit this is the fastest and the best explanation. thank you
